You see the problem with this is there is no problem with expelling sexual energy the problem comes with getting trapped in addiction. Sexual expression in the landscape of duality has as many benefits not only physically but spiritually as much as it has negatives. Change your minds relationship and attachment with the act and sensations. Views opinions and beliefs around such things is constantly evolving. Belief that something is an obstacle in achieving enlightenment will create the reality that it is when in fact it’s no more of an obstacle than than any other belief you have created and reinforced.
Working with vital energies can be quite dangerous, mainly for novice. Be careful and study great spiritual masters how they did it.

Semen retention didn't help Yogananda live long. He died at age 62 and he looked really old. He also suffered a lot of pain in his body.
He also consciously died in front of an audience. After death, physicians noted there was no evident cause of death and his body stayed "fresh" for an abnormally long time :)
