I would really appreciate a video dedicated on debuffs applied to our character by enemies. Often Times my char is slowed showing a net logo in the debuff barrr sometime a speedy thing shows etc. Often times before I can hover over them they go away. will be nice if it is discussed in a video
So, when i want to play ele hit. How much damage my Hits have to deal, to get minimum scorch, brittle, sap? Is it the chill calculation for every elemental ailment??
This my 2nd season but man…it never occurred to me that every type of attack as an associated ailment…it just never occurred to me that it was true of cold, fire, lightning, chaos, and physical
quick question, if i use secrets of suffering + mastery skill (mace attacks chill on hit) on a full phys build, will i still be able to inflict brittle?
hey mate thanks for the vid, appreciate it! I have a question which I did some research about but I'm still not sure about how it actually works. the mechanics says "critical strikes always inflict shock regardless of the chance to shock". does this mean: if I add a flat lightning dmg to spell jewel and I deal a critical strike with a cold spell it will inflict shock (?)
@@subtractem thx for the reply!! so in order to proc for example Explosives Expert on Sabo you need to reach thresholds on all three ailments such that just adding flat damage via jewel doesn't really work?
I love this game because its like gaming Disneyland, so many things going on. I have played it for years but have never gotten more than 2 characters past Act 4 and none past 5. I'm a very casual player and have no desire to go deep into end game. I saw a lot of people use level 80 / 100 pts as a baseline but when I plan out builds on POB, they note high tier content requirements. So would I be correct as a casual that just wants to enjoy standard league and all the non-endame (maybe a tiny bit of mapping) previous league mechanics (Ascendancy trials, heists, Enninar based crafting, etc ...) should I set my sights lower? If so, how much lower? Should I just cap myself had 67 and build better characters to I at least make it through Act 10? Chasing METAs is stressful and exhausting. All the hard work people put in is insanely impressive. Respect! But not my jam. I would appreciate any thoughts.
I have just started playing the game 2 weeks ago and here is what I’ve learned to get to tier 13 maps. (I am also a casual player as I can really only play on weekends) Focusing on a damage type is better than trying to have an all rounder. For example, I play an elemental archer there for I only focus on elemental damage and lightning in particular. Physical, chaos and all the others do not interest me as my character will end up weaker than if it’s fully focused. Not to say it’s impossible as I’m sure there are loads of builds that do it but for a beginner this is easier. Also make sure you raise your resistances. Don’t stress on the items and just pick whatever seems to give the best stats. I’m sure you can get to act 10 just by doing this. Also if you want some of the best beginner tips, watch slaydra’s Poe beginner walkthrough as he covers the things most RUclipsrs don’t cover including how to trade for the best weapons and things to do when you’re first starting to make it a breeze
I don't think so, since skitterbots are the entities applying their own chill and shock, not you so it should work. Haven't tested it but that's how poe typically functions
No, the shocking/chilling auras are a property of the skitterbots, not the player. This means that they don't benefit from any increased ailment effect on the player either.
I don't know who will ever do it because it'd be a pain, but I'd really like to see someone do a monster guide. The more comprehensive, the bigger the pain. But at least the stuff that could reasonably kill people. Something like a 20-30 second showcase on the deadliest 50 regular monsters. I know a lot of this stuff is available in the database, but honestly, how much do people really KNOW? There's no info on death screen so if you're not on HC you probably just go right back into the instance without learning anything. Even if you're in the database it's not so easy to know you're looking at the right monster's movesets/stats and it can be a little confusing. The wild bristlebeast has a move called "EAAHarvestBeastDoubleSlam" Cooldown Time: 10 Second +8 to Melee Strike Range So this seems like it would just affect the basic knockback strike attack every 10 seconds, rather than the slams, despite being called a slam. Maybe? So for example, this is the bear on purple plants in harvest called the wild bristlebeast. Every 10 seconds it can strike from extra distance. Watch out for this slam move, it deals extreme physical attack damage. At most power levels this has one shot potential especially on a critical hit, so kiting is recommended. (If you look at the database there are actually two slam moves... is there a way to tell the difference? One is 150% and the other is 200%). And then maybe eventually one on rippy map bosses. End game bosses have already been covered very well by others. I think the assumption is mostly that if your build is good the crap monsters melt. But these crap monsters probably rack up +1,000,000 kills per league on the back of that mentality.
I could do a video on how to read the monster mods in poedb, I think that would be the best course for this. Teach a person to fish etc. I did it in my Maven guide.
@@subtractem then why am I not applying any ailments other than slow from my skill? I haven’t ignitied, shocked, or anything. I’m a noob but my only guess is that I’m not doing enough damage to the enemies with those damage types??
You need to do enough damage with the other elements to hit the ailment threshold to apply it as well as crit or have chance to apply. The formula is in the wiki.
Ground effects never hit, if they deal damage, they deal it DoT, and if they apply a debuff/ailment they just apply it to every hostile entity in the area, so long as they stand in it.
Great timing on this video as people will be doing Lightning Conduit/Galvanic Field which will require a lot of non-damaging Ailments knowledge.

pog!
cant wait for you to make 3 1hrs videos for leech mechanic :D
yeah :O
the "kami hama hama" made me cry...
Will you do another guide on curses and on debuffs (e.g. withered) in the future?
Yes!

I wish there was a leveling pob for the 3.19 version of bane occy.
Its the same. Can use the previous pob
@@subtractem Ok thank you.

That is correct, however it has to hit hard enough to overcome the base shock threshold.
@@subtractem thx for the reply!! so in order to proc for example Explosives Expert on Sabo you need to reach thresholds on all three ailments such that just adding flat damage via jewel doesn't really work?
@subtractem u gonna start with chaosslinger?
No, just regular bane
Is there somehow I can turn by chill to ignite or shock?
I don't believe you can alter an ailment but you can change what ailments an element applies. Look up the three dragons helm for an example.
I have boots that grant 99% shock avoidance. How big is that last 1%?
Unfortunately it does matter specifically for things like chilled ground.
if i am Ci and i have phys damage taken recouped as life with zealots oath, do i get es regen from it ?
Recoup is not Regen no
What about hindered, withered, maimed, intimidated, blind and silenced?
Good point. I'll rename it to elemental. I can do those in a separate video.
those aren't ailments, they're debuffs, so I guess for another vid
Wait, those are ailments, I thought they were debuffs.

Did the Forbidden Rite CoC Occultist Build got nerfed in 3.19 ?
Barely
would equipping galesight effect skitterbots then?

Thank you but this game is bring my brain. If my skills/weapons do all elemental damage types, can’t I apply ailments on one single hit?
Yes!

Do the ground effects technically hit initially?
They do not. You just have the ailment while standing in them.
