- We are on lock down here in the UK, the Punto has not gone anywhere, for ages and is looking very sorry for itself.
So it's time for me to get it up to scratch. What do you guys out there think I should be doing to improve the car, tell me in the comments below.

We are also in Lockdown here in India, and my Punto is also parked idle.
Sorry to here that, hopefully you'll find something in the coming videos to keep you busy. Keep safe and look after yourselves !
Fiat Palio n Linea TJet from Mumbai in India in Lockdown too for 2 weeks
Keeps safe
Ive always been interested in the Fiatscans computer module and software you use. would be interesting to go through that and see that adjustments that can be done on there?
Definitely something I can do!
I have instaled a Android head unit with reverse camera on my 1.3 Multijet 2008. I only unplugged the stereo power plug from the car loom to the stereo. Just to be safe. Now and then I drive it to get groceries but only for a short drive.
A video about common problems with the punto's. I think I have a few and dont know how to fix them. My rear windshieldwiper doesnt work and I hear often thats a broken cable. And something in my trunk has broken off and causing that the parcel wont fit anymore.
And what I also like are video's about replacing lightbulbs (also inside the car)
Some good ideas, the parcel shelf problem is easily fixed with a little £3 clip from the fiat dealer, alternatively if you have access you can get the files online to 3D print one
Ok, buying the clip isnt that difficult obvious but I tried to look how I can remove the broken clip and install a new one, I dont see any screws
What about a reversing camera/sensor kit? I’ve always wanted to add one to my Evo and never got round to it. 👍🏼
Hi Jamie I have parking sensors and a camera to install something I might get a chance to tackle during this lock down !
I need to change my wing mirror covers as the paint has peeled off over the years, it's quite hard to remove the cover itself though. Could you make a guide on that and possibly some tips for spray painting? 2006 Grande Punto Sporting. Thanks!
Yes, I am planning to refurbish the wheels on my car soon and that will cover spray painting 👍. Hope this will help !
You could adjust the handbrake, having like 2 clicks for full lock is the sweet spot.
Think about when it's worn out, you're already pulling a lot, you might not be able to have more pulling later.
Well spotted, I have filmed replacing the badly stretched hand brake cables, and that shot was from that video shoot 😉
Where can I order a roof rack for gp 2007 with 4 doors?
Mine is a genuine Fiat roof bar set, I actually got it second hand for about £25 but you can get them from the dealership for about £60 - £80 which isn't unreasonable here in the UK for a roof rack especially from the manufacturers.
I have a Mk2 but my question applies to all cars in general. What should I do so I can keep my car in good shape mechanicaly since I can't move it anymore because of the lock down?
I turn it on for about 10 minutes once per week. I rev it up a bit too. I don't know if it necessary or if it even helps to be honest.
I'm a young and inexperienced driver so I really don't have any idea what to do now. I'm afraid the battery will drain or I'll face other problems later for letting the car sit for so long.
Looking forward to hear any tips! Thank you!
A fan from Greece.
Keep the battery charged is the main problem, if you look closely in the video you might spot I have a solar charger stuck to the inside of the windscreen. This keeps the battery topped up. Also move it so the tyres don’t get flat spots. Generally though cars can spend months on a dealers forecourt with out more than this doing.
what about improving sound isolation? I was thiniking to do that on my F Grande Punto :)
As this is a diesel sporting with all the extras the sound insulation is actually very good, I’m not sure I would improve it much without having to spend a lot of money on specialist materials
I Just replaced my fuel filter and fog light. Maybe you could replace some filters (pollen, air etc?)
Already done the pollen filter so check that out on the channel, at the moment though getting parts is hard as many of the parts stores have closed down.
@@PuntoHowto I always order online, they still deliver, only some day(s) later
Hi
I've got a few questions for you if you get bored from this isolating!!
The option to turn off my daytime running lights has disappeared.. would you know how I can get it back? I think it happened after adding cruise control but I can't be certain... I just know it's not in the menu anymore. I have Multiscan software but it can only turn it on and off when plugged in... it's more annoying than anything.
Also I have a more technical questions.
I have a twinair but swapped out the seats to the same as yours ... Only issue is the seat belt warning reminder in the passenger seat connection block is different, now it no longer gives a bleep for the passenger if they are not wearing their belt as it's not connected. My question is would this effect the activation of the curtain airbags for the passenger side? Or will it still continue to function.
I'm worried it might not if the car now thinks someone isn't sitting there in the event of an accident.
I know the side airbags in the actual seat won't work because they're not connected and my original cloth seats never had them anyway. I just want to make sure the curtain one in the passenger side will still work.
The light on the dash comes on and goes out as usual.
I'm thinking it will still work because it should protect the rear passengers as well and there are no seatbelt sensors for them.
Any ideas?
Finally if I can be bothered someday is it theoretical possible to join the wires needed trigger the left and right curtain airbags to the left and right seat airbag wires to effectively have both deploy if the curtain ones are ever activated ? As my car has no wiring under the seat for it .
Thanks bye
Trust me, as I work in health care, I have plenty to keep me busy at the moment. As for your problems. I personally would have made sure when changing seats that everything connected up even if that meant taking the airbags and wiring from the old seats, if you still have the old seats then this is something you could do. The main problem is actually the dash airbag may not deploy properly if the car doesn’t think someone is in the seat. Swapping the parts over should help resolve most of your problems
@@PuntoHowto I did ask a fiat breaker before hand who told me it'll straight fit but obviously I've found it's not as simple as that ...I might get a vehicle electrician to have a look because I have no idea which wires are the two for the pressure sensor and which is for the airbags.
I've still got the old interior so it shouldn't be too much work for someone familiar with these cars I guess.
Thanks !
PuntoHowto alright mate I know your probs busy, I got exact same car , have you changed your air filter and induction kit? Looking for some advice as im looking to do it
Where can I find your wheels?
They are the 17” standard wheels for a Fiat Punto Evo sporting
Alright buddy have you put an induction kit on? I’m looking to order one but it’s a hassle
I haven’t, but it’s a turbo so induction kits won’t achieve much.
As it’s a diesel and having looked into it it’s possible to add 30bhp with a straight forward ECU flash which seems like money better spent on this car, on a non turbo petrol it is more worthwhile
It’s not a diesel mate it’s a 1.4 petrol
Turbo
I just can’t find an induction pipe anywhere that Will fit the car that isn’t ridiculously over priced. It’s because we have the 3 little nippes on the induction pipe ones the vacuum hose and dunno what the other 2 are you know what I mean
As you already have a turbo do a little research as you can spend a lot on an air filter but get virtually nothing from it, especially on a turbo car, where as the money might be better spent else where like on a remap or a bigger turbo, a bigger turbo and a remap can yield some pretty good results on a Fiat 1.4 turbo
hello friend.i am from india.i have punto evo 1.3 liter diesel car.i am not getting its drive shaft in india can u suggest me any route to buy it.
I honestly have no idea how you would go about getting parts in India. Sorry 😐
