I put the allen key(duno American term but its the small tool that comes with the pole) i put it in one of the holes , and in the direction to loosen it i wacked the hammer onit afew times and it finally came apart. I literally had it together for like 8 years and was about to give up and chuck it.

A little late but i was asking this too (for future viewers). The top piece is an adjuster for height. I thought my pole was too small but the adjuster (black piece) can be extended by unscrewing it out of the pole (with the adjuster tool - long silver thing). Do it with the top piece on. Hope this helps 😊

Latoya Mayo you have to move the nut up before the threaded rod will go down as the nut is there to prevent it unscrewing. Use the spanner big end for the nut and small end slides into notch at top of rid. You can always hit the spanner with a hammer anticlockwise for the nut and clockwise for the rod.

Can someone help please? I have removed the expansion cover and loosened up the flange nut but when I use the long key stick In the black expander to untwist it won’t budge. The key is literally bending Instead and the black expander is not moving at all 🤦🏽♀️ Will the blow dryer trick work for this or what can I do ?

You start at the top unclip the cover and then screw the nut up by turning anti clockwise whilst using the small spanner end to turn the threaded part clock wise this will shorten enough to get it horizontal on floor then just put in car thru boot in between the seats into the front foot well if can't undo the middle. But you don't attempt to undo the middle until the pole is horizontal.

Please try to screw back clockwise, if not , may be the thread was hit when fell down, you can check if its surface lose the shape, use a file and adjust it. If all of them not work, you can ask for a replacement. Thank you

So I have this pole installed also and I can’t get it down... when I stick the iron rod though, the entire pole moves with it. I can keep twisting it and twisting it, but it doesn’t do anything. But I have another issue that may be the cause while it won’t come down. My 6 year old niece was messing with the static/spin pieces at the bottom you screw in and now the pole will not stay completely static... could that be an issue? Also yet another reason, which is the reason I need the pole down in the first place is because my fiancé was just messing around and swinging on the pole and all of a sudden the pole moved on the ceiling, now it’s crooked. I need the pole down so I can fix it to be upright again instead of crooked. Sorry, I know I have a lot of issues, but I’m stuck here. Can anyone help?
Brandon Neubarth I got it figured out, but explaining it to you may be a different story but I’ll try my best, haha. Basically the static part is messed up on our poles, and in order to adjust the height of the pole your pole needs to be in static mode. Since ours is messed up, it won’t unscrew from the ceiling like it’s supposed to. What you’re supposed to do is have someone hold the actual pole at the bottom and have someone at the top unscrewing the black part that had the cover over it. Notice if someone isn’t holding the pole while you’re trying to unscrew the black part, the pole just moves with it. That’s why you have to hold it to prevent it from spinning too. So just hold it while someone else unscrews the top and it should come down, just make sure you’re turning it the right way!

Yes my exact situation and there’s no one to help me hold it down I even tried to stand on the bottom part and use one arm to twist and it’s painful I know I’ll get is maybe I should ask my neighbor for help 😭

Wouldn't it be preferable to use one piece instead of 2? Almost everyone has a 8-9' ceiling.
It's easier to deliver/transport it in two pieces

Did you take the 2 small pins out the bottom of the pole for it to spin freely
It was probably not spinning freely because it was not leveled.. mine started skipping when it got tilted from the 90 degree position

Hi Kaziah, the main poles are required. Main pole A and B. The only parts that are optional are the extensions.

Also yet another reason, which is the reason I need the pole down in the first place is because my fiancé was just messing around and swinging on the pole and all of a sudden the pole moved on the ceiling, now it’s crooked. I need the pole down so I can fix it to be upright again instead of crooked. Sorry, I know I have a lot of issues, but I’m stuck here. Can anyone help?

Brandon Neubarth I got it figured out, but explaining it to you may be a different story but I’ll try my best, haha. Basically the static part is messed up on our poles, and in order to adjust the height of the pole your pole needs to be in static mode. Since ours is messed up, it won’t unscrew from the ceiling like it’s supposed to. What you’re supposed to do is have someone hold the actual pole at the bottom and have someone at the top unscrewing the black part that had the cover over it. Notice if someone isn’t holding the pole while you’re trying to unscrew the black part, the pole just moves with it. That’s why you have to hold it to prevent it from spinning too. So just hold it while someone else unscrews the top and it should come down, just make sure you’re turning it the right way!
everyone whos having a problem! Fix! My room mate took the whole pole down without loosening. It was a complete night mare Just take a hair dryer and heat it up until the metal expands. It will work even for the tightest joint.
Yes my exact situation and there’s no one to help me hold it down I even tried to stand on the bottom part and use one arm to twist and it’s painful I know I’ll get is maybe I should ask my neighbor for help 😭

Janepyramid I honestly just had someone hold the dome up on the ceiling while they tighten the pole. It doesn’t move at all and it’s sturdy!
