I am confused as why we need a USB stick anymore. I know when I did my PS3 hdd to ssd. I had the files for ps3 system on a usb stick but did not need them. It went into safe mode and let me do from there. So I would assume the ps4 with more ram would have the same thing, or wherever safe-mode is built in on the hardware.
