i had my interview yesterday and i only got asked 6 questions. the first one was about my availability and the other one was why i wanted to work there. after that she just asked me 4 situational questions, like tell me a time you went above and beyond for a customer (or someone if you don’t actually have prior job experience), and tell me about a time you worked with someone else to meet a deadline. overall it was pretty easy. after this she passed me on to the second interview which she said would be her boss. he came in looked at all my responses and offered me the job.

I’ll leave everything I was asked (from what I remember). I was interviewed for about 15-20 by one manager for the advocate/customer service position, he told me normally it’s a 2 part interview but hired me on the spot: In no particular order: 1) Why do you want to work for target? 2) Why should we hire you over other applicants? 3) A customer gets in your line with a birthday card, candles, and a toy, how would you approach them? (or something to that effect)- he said my answer for this ticked every box so I’ll share as well that I answered “looks like someone’s getting ready for a big birthday! Did you find everything you needed? Suggest additional items if you know of any that would go with their theme if there’s one. And if it’s a mom with their child and their child obviously got excited when you asked about it being someone’s bday, that I’d tell them happy birthday and “hope you have such a fun day!” 4) a customer gets in your line very obviously in a rush, how would you approach that situation? 5) tell me about a time you went above and beyond to make someone feel welcome 6) tell me about a time you helped a co-worker overcome a difficult situation, how’d you help them? *the hardest one for me cause I was not at all prepared for it* 7) can you advocate for target and push the red card and target circle app 8) general questions about availability

And then they offered me the job and scheduled orientation. They asked so many non stop and follow up questions like “what would you do if a customer gave you a coupon that didn’t work” “what would you do if you were working the register and a mom and child were in your lane” “what would you do if a customer was in a rush” “what does advocate mean to you” “tell me about a time when you resolved an issue” “tell me about a time when you sold products to a customer and how you did it” “tell me about a time when you worked with a group to complete a project with a deadline” Bro. They really asked me all of that and way more. Why was it so hard lol.

sooo i prepared note cards to go over and everything. I literally did the interview and they asked one of these questions. I was hired on spot thank god but I literally did al this work for nothing hahahah. So grateful though!
Not true. Every interview is different and unpredictable. Some managers are very intense and others are more relaxed. Prepare for the toughest interview and then enjoy an easy interview if you get lucky.

You can talk about any experience you've had, paid or not. I got my first job by talking about patient interactions or customer service I encountered while volunteering at the hospital. I know this is a month later, but I'm not looking to move on from my current job after 2 years so now I am here lol

I had an interview today at 12 pm and i went in and said they never had me listed? The girl i talked to also gave me a fake look which i didn’t appreciate.
i got the job! :) i had two interviews with different people and they were both really friendly and welcoming! the first interview mostly just consisted of the situational type questions (ex. when was there a time you and a coworker had a disagreement, what did you learn from the experience? when was a time you exceeded expectations? etc etc) just a few questions similar to that and then she asked what hours i could work and she set me up to come in for a second interview. the second interview process was more what i expected. she asked me to tell her a bit about myself, hours i could work, and she repeated some of the same questions asked in the first interview and that was pretty much it. she asked me what position i wished to work for and currently waiting on an email for orientation!
