I love your no bull shit discretion of your health. That's what we love you .Keep up the great job . Can't wait to meet you. Maybe at BBB next year?if you're up for it .stay healthy not else maters.
Hope you’re doing well stranger, you speaking feels like I’m talking to a person; a real person. Your videos are fresh and I hope that this vw bus can traverse everywhere.
Hi Larry I came across your channel and subscribed after watching the shasta trips. It’s quite satisfying seeing people use the old busses like they did in the old days, I’m quite heartened to see young folk ditching technology and getting back out there and enjoying stuff like we did in the old days. I’ve owned Volkswagens for 40 years and still have my 56 beetle, sadly I sold my 77 bus 10 years ago, big mistake but that’s just how it goes. I’m quite envious of you folk in the USA you have a much greater chance of finding reasonable priced splittys and old time camping gear, I particularly love the Coleman lamps and cookers, very expensive and just finding one here is like winning a lottery. I’m very curious about your bus, I’ve not seen one with a flap in the side, what’s the history of it. Take care enjoy your films. Aussie Bob.
Great video Larry! Impressed with the woodwork, such as the curved panels in the back of the van. Wife and I like to go to car shows and I always check out the VW vans and yours is better than any of the ones I've seen, nice job! I also appreciate that you would share some back story, we subscribers feel like we know you as a friend and like to know more about you. Glad you were able to overcome those issues so well and can walk about. Can't wait to see you out on the trail again, love your videos when your out and about in the desert, I'm always impressed at your ability to capture such beautiful scenery for us, always fun to hang out with you on RUclips.
Love your channel. It’s been inspiring me to continue exploring in my 2x Chevy Van. 4x folks are often surprised to see me crawling rough tracks in back country areas. Skills , slow, tires and preparation. Drive on Larry!
Hey Larry! I've been following your build for some time now and always enjoy your videos. I don't own a bus but have played with the idea of buying one some day. Regardless, you make quality content and I can see how valuable you are to the VW community. Just wanted to say I appreciate you talking about your journey medically. Your outlook and personality are incredible. I am newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and have been adjusting. Anyway, keep up your badassness!
You are awesome! I always look forward to your videos. It inspires me to keep working on my 71 bus and dream of the day I’ll finally get to take it camping.
Another awesome video Larry, nice to learn more of your backstory. The bus re-model is turning out awesome! Looking forward to your upcoming adventures!
Hi Larry. I hope you do take the time recoup from all the time on the garage floor! All the same I've enjoyed where you've gone with this build. Thanks for opening up a bit with some of your personal trials & tribulations, not something you have to do. I will keep you in my prayers. You have a good weekend my friend. P.S. I had to watch this episode over two evenings, hope it doesn't mess up the views or rattings.
I enjoyed your show as always. It's a lot of work and worth it. Facet makes electric cube fuel pumps from 1 PSI and 5 gallons per hour on up. Carbs like my Solex 32 are supposed to run around 2 PSI. Knock offs don't always say what pressure they put out. Too many PSI will make your float level too high. If you get a regulator, you will need a pressure gauge that you can trust to see if it's working right. And don't get me started on distributors.
Awhile ago I picked up a little Holley regulator and a liquid pressure gauge. I still need to get the hardware and hose. Hopefully this Friday. I gotta rap it up because I going out next week. 😅
Hi Larry, Great Work as always! Y'know, looking at these comments from your sub's shows that the back story of how you've successfully overcome some big challenges in life has been a real encouragement to all of us, and it's no coincidence that the theme of your channel has shown how you've successfully overcome a lot of adventurous challenges and still kept a good attitude in life. That's huge. Gives others hope. Pretty cool in so many ways, so here we all are camping out on your channel, sojourners at the Oasis called Larry's Place having a good time. Thanks Buddy ✌️
Great video Larry. Never knew about your health issue, glad you are better. I really like how you have done the panelling particularly the roof. It's what I want to do on my 69 bay window........After I take care of the rust of course 😆😆😆😆😆
Thanks, 3mm Baltic birch 5’x5’ sheet are pretty common in your neck of the woods. That was my first go at camping interior. The curtain was my hardest part.😬 🤙🤙🙂
It’s another Wednesday and we’re going through Vintage Overland Adventure withdrawals! We thoroughly enjoyed watching the upgrades to the bus but now hoping you got time to get out there and shake it all down. Looking forward to your next video!
I’m a diabetic and missed a couple dinners (3 weeks ago) my blood sugar got really low and my body got real wobbly. I hit my head on the metal work bench. I managed to make it inside only falling down forty or so more times. I was lucky to make it through the night. I Stayed close to the floor and in bed, I managed to fall one more time the next day and broke my nose. So I’m three weeks in and I’m good much better, still a little wobbly, more like a little dizzy. So I’m dealing with post concussion syndrome, nasty stuff. I’ll be back soon I hope 🤞
Yikes! Sorry to hear, glad you’re on the road to recovery though. Hang in there, keep healing and looking forward to you getting back out on the dirt 🚐 💨!
Admire you even more now bro! Your endless summer series stuff is amazing and funny too. Thanks. You talked about people/educators that got you enthused excited, etc… You’re doing the same thing to me and I’m sure other folks too. Keep doing what you’re doing! You made quite a turn around with your health- OMG. Your videos are great!!! Best to you and your bus.❤ Peace✌🏻
So happy to hear, Endless Summer Series has a fun series, crazy grind for a old guy. 😜 I truely hope that these videos inspire some folks out there. 🤙🏜️

Hey brother, how you doing 🤙 Great video, bus is looking goooooooooooood..... Christmas greetings from sunny UK (It's not sunny, infact its 40/70 mph winds and pissing down rain 😅😢) Catch you soon, buddy.....stay groovy 🤙😎🤙 🙏🎅🙏
Hey man I hope your doing ok. I wanted to wish you a happy new year. I know you deal will sh*t. We all do man. Hang in there and get back to your happy.
Your content convinced me to subscribe, but your mix of humor and sincerity keeps me coming back! I try to do similar winter work every year! You mentioned you’ve changed your drive train- engine and gearing. What are you running? I switched to 3.88 r/p with big nut reduction boxes 25 years ago and it’s great for e highways, but I can’t “crawl” around the logging roads like I used to. I may go to 4.125 in the future. (2021cc dual dellorto’s with mild cam)
Hey Larry, I just saw a video that was shot at Skinner Classics VW bus shop in California, and the owner said he has the oldest 'sales flap' bus. His is a '59. Isn't yours a '58?
12/58, I bought the Westfalia SO1 door at Pomona, later that day A friend "Chad Mcgee" said he had the 213 panel for the door. I purchased the bus the nexted day for $1500. (A long time ago)
I hope to get out in March, I started to feel a lot better around the 15th of Feb. I just got two of work under my belt scents Oct. 27 2023. I do need to set up my carburetor and a couple other things.
I love your no bull shit discretion of your health. That's what we love you .Keep up the great job . Can't wait to meet you. Maybe at BBB next year?if you're up for it .stay healthy not else maters.

Dude! That red and black big hat Sears! That baby looks nice! Interior looks really good! All that insulation is going to help.
Thanks 😊 I’ve noticed that it’s quieter inside. See now it does with winter 🥶

Great video how about those curtains pain in the but ! Thank you !
Kicked my butt. The blanket over the bar was fine for me, but you know I had to step it up. 🤪
