looking forward to hearing a full sound test - sounds better than other chain drives from that short clip but curious if it's still obnoxiously loud in person haha
IVE got one of these.last night it got too loose and is stuck against swingarm. ill take a look at this later try to get it out and tighten it by the screws you mentioned by the motor
Hey man I planned on including my thoughts on this , but my mic was not working good so audio was terrible. I will make a new updated video called “surron chain drive worth it?” Or something like that very soon. Cause this is something I really wanna talk about. But to sum it up it is noticeably louder yessir. But I will make a full video hitting more points and thoughts & have sound clips as well with good microphone. Soon. Thanks for watching !
I just out one on right now. It's TERRIBLY loud and it was a pain in the dick to install. I had my motor super loose and the chain was fucked to get on
Make sure it is lubed good and you have the warp 9 setup… they are the quietest… also make sure your chain is not super tight it will be even louder ! Keep some slack in your chain. The motor-jackshaft chain. **Not your jackshaft to rear sprocket chain **
You shouldn't have any side load on the swingarm bearings even when torquing the bolt tight because there are bushings that takes the axial load (those bushings are insinde and outside of the jackshaft)
Great video, really helped. Just wondered if the wheels are the standard size on this sur ron and if different just wondered what size you used for the bike, just cus they look chunky.
You rotate the motor in the motor mount adjuster slot with the bolts and it brings motor closer / further from the jackshaft pulley to make tension tighter / looser
Dude what cover is that? I just tried putting my prickly back on after installing it, and it hits the chain. My motor is also adjusted all the way up because the chain is so damn tight, I can't adjust the motor any more than it is
you help me a lot with how to remove the main gear with the puller tool, can you tell me please where to get this size of puller tool ? if in aliexpress it will be grat cuz i am from israel\palestine thx a lot ( i find only massive pullers) cant find this small you have
Full build video just uploaded going over the entire bike. But to answer your question the fast ace rear shock with 600lb spring ! Thanks for watching!
They’re not too bad at all to swap out. Hand full of tools nothing crazy. Wanna say roughly just needed a ratchet , set of Allen wrenches 13mm socket & 17mm socket.. everything on these bikes is either 13mm/17mm/19mm or 3mm Allen / 4mm Allen / 5mm Allen / 6mm Allen … thanks for watching hope this helped !
Guys you dont have to take off swing arm, just fix it with screwdriver and do not hammer the swingarm bolt, it should go easy just wiggle it little

New video is live !
@@JUSTINHAWKSMITH you’re the man
You are ! Thanks for watching !
Hey man I got the chain drive installed but I can’t seem to find out what tension it should be set at
Hey, so I was in the same boat as you and Warp 9 said a quarter inch of slack.

It's past due, the LBX should have a Gear Box.

Hope you figure it out. Couple hundred miles on mine no issues yet
yeah I like it, it was my fault for not getting it tigftened. I felt it loose knowing what was going to happen. ive done about 2k km on it
Great tutorial man. How is the sound? I know this is supposed to be the quietest conversion, but how much louder than the belt would you say it is?

@@JUSTINHAWKSMITHit's so loud that I'm questioning if it's installed correctly lol

what rear wheel is that i’ve been looking for one of those
What is that metal rod you hammered out before you tightened the jackshaft bolt?
just a steel rod to help installation process easier, i believe i explained it in this video mightve missed it
I bet by this time next year you'll have 100k+ subscribers!
Thanks for the positivity man ! Appreciate it. ❤️
@JUSTHAWKSMITH where did you get the frame protector clear graphics from ?
You shouldn't have any side load on the swingarm bearings even when torquing the bolt tight because there are bushings that takes the axial load (those bushings are insinde and outside of the jackshaft)
your right it shouldnt in a perfect world, but poor tolerances cause this & torquing a little less helped substantially ,thanks for watching
Great video, really helped. Just wondered if the wheels are the standard size on this sur ron and if different just wondered what size you used for the bike, just cus they look chunky.
They are a 19” front 16” rear. 90/100-16 rear tire size , 70/100-19 front tire size
Hell yea! Looks great man!
Did you have to add a shim behind the bigger sprocket?, i noticed the shim in the pics on the warp 9 website, is it needed?
@@tjhewitt1244 im not sure how you tell when to or not use that shim. My sprockets lined up very well visually so I did not use it no.
@JUSTINHAWKSMITH okay thanks
Why didn't you show how you got the chain on? My motor is loose and I can't pull the chain together to connect the link.

It’s just a cheap one off Amazon buddy ! Thanks for watching hope this helps.
Do you have to put that circle metal circle thing for the bottom I don’t have that on mine but I see some people install them

I purchased it from advance auto part here in the US
Dose this work on the surron light bee X?

cool share brother... curious, what rear shock are you running?

Incredible guy, your rear brake disc! Is it possible to have the link to buy one? Thanks
It’s a “prickly” brand rotor
What is the brand of your rear suspension, it looks strong and massive 💪
Fast ace
perfect video
Great video🔥
You know you don’t have to take your swing arm off to do this. I did the same mistake.
Do you just remove jackshaft thru the underneath ?
Yes sorry for the long response just seen this😂
@@PNWSURRON what do you have to remove to take it out through underneath?

alright thanks
You did it with no effort you must’ve had the right tools
