The one in pink hair (YES THE HOT ONE) is also from Girls' Generation, her name is Hyoyeon and goes by HYO for her solo stuff, she's the main dancer and main rapper of Girls' Generation! you should totally check some of her solo music like Dessert and Sober, it's different from what Taeyeon usually makes so it'd be a chance for you to check another side of Girls' Generation members individuality!
I love her Punk Right now but so underrated she deserves better thankfully she got back on Dessert!

BoA is the oldest and also the more experienced. She debuted in 2000, she was only 13. And she has always been amazing in each of her comebacks. I'm so glad she is in GOT. Also Taeyeon and HYO (pink haired one) are from Girl's Generetion (or SNSD), they don't age at all, HYO is an amazing dancer. We also have Wendy and Seulgi from Red Velvet, you know them, outstanding vocals. And finally, Karina and Winter of AESPA.
I'm so happy they got to debut again as a team, they're so talented (the other members too, of course)
BoA really is the most experienced in the group, but then again shes never been in a group before this. So its actually really satisfying for me the watch her blend so well with the others.
And also so glad she's getting more international attention too
Only SM has the balls to have idols from each generation collaborate with each other! Nobody can come at these vocals, visuals, or dance! Also this is an interchangeable lineup with each new concept, SM confirmed it!
1st. Gen: BoA (debuted in 2000; 22 years)
2nd.Gen: Taeyeon and Hyoyeon of SNSD (debuted in 2007; 15 years)
3rd.Gen: Wendy and Seulgi of Red Velvet (debuted in 2014; 8 years)
4th.Gen: Karina and Winter of Aespa (debuted in 2020; 2 years)
I was also freaking out. 4 generations of kpop its crazy.
No other company has active idols from first gen and not many have active idols from second gen. SM is truly the only company that can pull something like this off. Major props for the longevity of their artists.

My mind was actually blown when I heard this. I think the cool thing about this is that it contains female sm idols from 1st-4th gen where as SuperM is mostly 3rd gen and then Taemin from the 2nd gen. Also GOT will have a rotational line up sort of like nct U.
I’ve also noticed that this particular line up contains a main vocal and main dancer from each girl group and then there’s BoA who’s known to be strong at both.
Winter is lead in both.

I could be wrong but I think this is still trending at no.1 or 2 in Korea and was the most anticipated performance at this year’s SMtown concert. Tbh tho this line up could’ve released anything and it still would’ve been iconic

@@yuricastro36 it was in a press release. “GOT the beat” is the first unit of Girls on Top and they’ll make different combinations based on theme. So the entire concept is like NCT U in that you might get “GOT the rhythm” or “GOT the ballad” with different members but I guess it’s like general NCT too cause I’m pretty sure GOT the beat is a fixed unit and may even be the main one but it’s not really clear on sm’s part I think.

SM stated this project w go theme to theme, with different combination n more units being introduce near future..depend on the theme.
For this first unit, the theme is about
INTENSE DANCE N POWER PERFORMANCE.
So The lineup members def suits it.
With 4th gen of SM girls all along.
1st gen theres BOA senior that debuted since 13 yrs old with lots of exp ,skills, n masterpiece
2nd gen theres SNSD members TAEYEON n HYOYEON
3rd gen Theres SEULGI n WENDY from REDVELVET
and 4th gen Theres KARINA n WINTER from aespa.
For this unit.. we dont exactly know ,it will rotate n change certain member ,rotation depend on theme . Or its still a fixed unit n they will comes up with other units n combination for other theme that more suitable for other SM girls..

OMG I've been waiting for your reaction 💕 What makes GOT really iconic and strong is the fact that the group is composed of talented and amazing members from the first to the fourth generation
1st gen - BOA
2nd gen - SNSD Taeyeon and Hyoyeon
3rd gen - RV Wendy and Seulgi
4th gen - Aespa Karina and Winter
And what makes it very exciting and interesting is that this is actually a rotational unit (just like NCT U) where all female artists from SM could join.
"it's weird , catchy ....." Well girlie that's SM. As an SM Stan for more then 10 years this song screams SM
SM knows how to manage their speciation's both the artist and the label. That's why they can keep so many seniors around. There is a point in a kpop group career they know they are not going to be what they were in their prime but SM keeps involving them in projects and spending resources in their oldest idols. OFC artist like SNSD and BoA wont have the same results from a comeback as they had some years ago but they focus on the quality of their products and start getting more involved in all the processes. That involvement keeps them satisfied with their agency.
And what SM make sure to make is that their artists are not just idols. They’ve raised entertainers who could go beyond just being an idol. Who can go in any area of the showbiz industry but still excell.
The song is weird there's no doubt about that but honestly when thinking of my favorite SM songs I do love the songs that are outside the box, the kind that the first time you listen to it you're not sure if you love it or not.
To be honest, I wouldn't listen to this if it hasn't had cool performances. But here we are
Agree with Efra that seeing Wendy IN her Element here, different from her solo album and the various singles and collabs she's done till now, just made me so happy that she's so daring to venture into the genres and dances that she hasn't challenged yet
I found this to be a great move bringing four generations together. This only seems possible for sm with how long their groups promote😅. Girls On Top is a Boa album also and the name of a single on it. It's crazy to think that Boa has been performing as long as Karina and Winter have been alive. Also the way they put Hyo And Seulgi! Taeyeon And Wendy! You can only imagine the vocals and dancing. I feel like this was great line up to start things off. I'm looking forward to how they mix things up.
actually this song is really depend on their vocal power and raps as well, that is why the instruments is not too complicated then other SM music
This song reminds me of somthing NCT would come out with except it would be just a little bit more harder & edgy with NCT. It's very SM. & from what I've heard the line up will constantly change kind of like how an NCT U song the members will constanty change fitting the songs concept so technically all the girls in SM, BoA, OHGG (Girls' Generation sub-unit since most members have left SM), Red Velvet & aespa which makes sense cuz when I first saw the line up I thought it was a bit odd they didn't include YoonA or Irene

Its like a SuperM, Yes because it composed of existing female idols from SM but the concept is more like NCT U because it is a rotational unit. All female idols from SM will participate in this project based on the theme they will decide to do, so we gonna get another unit for the future and I can't wait what they will serve next.

yes i agree it does kinda show what SM likes in voices, but only like a third of it because every group has at least a vocal trinity that have very different voices... but for GOT, I feel like they mainly took the main-main vocalists (the most famous as main vocals and who have the same style and do most high notes), with i guess the exception of having seulgi to balance it.
I thought Winter was Lead vocal and Ning Ning was Main in Aespa though?

It’s a lot of dissonance in the song. That’s what you’re hearing that’s making it sound eerie and kind of disturbing. They call dissonance like devils notes basically so that’s probably why it’s kind of making you feel weirded out. But I honestly think dissonance is really cool which is one of the reasons why I really like the song because once it started and I heard that dissonance I was just like wow SM really went with something different here
Also you have four different generations here. First generation is obviously boa, second generation is TAEYEON and HYO who are both from girls generation, then you have 3rd generation Seulgi and Wendy, and of course fourth generation, winter and Karina.

The concept of this group is a mix between the concept of SuperM and the concept of NCT U.
Because, it mixes different SM female artists just like SuperM does (which mixes NCT/WayV, Exo and SHINee members), and each song they release will have different members, that means, it will NOT be a fixed group but a rotating group, as is the concept of NCT U.
In this song the members are:
-BoA (long black hair, braids, silver blouse) she is a soloist
-Taeyeon (silver hair) and Hyoyeon (red/pink hair) from SNSD/Girls Generation
-Seulgi (long black hair, pig tails and silver skirt) and Wendy (short hair, black outfit) from Red Velvet
-Karina (tallest girl, long black hair, the one who started the song) and Winter (short hair, bangs, black & red outfit) from Aespa
Some of the girls already said that for the next song, the members will be different, and that good lineups are coming.
