Ghost had Mary on a Cross in their set even before it broke on Tik-Tok. They knew it was a great track, and when it blew up, they already had it in their shows.
Can confirm, I have seen Ghost live twice now and they played it in 2022, and they will of course play it this year as well(third time seeing Ghost live)🔥
I firt listen the song in atomatic play on You Tube. I wasn't even saw the video and i fell in love with the track. I really think that if they had done the live video before or did a videoclipe, the song would have be noticed earlier. I knew ghost for many years but i haven't stop to really listend.

They played it at my show a week after the song dropped. I didn't think much of it at the time, but I enjoy it now. Very catchy.
Well, he can't ever write that song again, but I'm sure he has many more great songs in him and maybe next time his label will listen to his instincts.

i mean, he wrote Darkness at the Heart of My Love, so i think he knows what he is doing. both have similar sound to them
Tobias and his collaborators have been cranking out one truly brilliant tune after another for years. The quality of the songwriting is unbelievable.
I remember Kiss the Go-Goat was actually more popular than Mary on a Cross for a good while after the EP first came out, but I knew from my first listen that Mary was going to blow up at some point. I was surprised that it took as long as it did, but better late than never eh?
Kiss the go-goat is an amazing song but I was immediately hooked by Mary on a cross too, this song deserves its success for sure !

When they released these two songs, I was so blown away by them and thinking, why the hell aren't these "disc songs" like Cirice or Dance Macabre. Being EP songs is not right.

Tobias has such an incredible voice and stage presence. Mary on a cross introduced me to the band, and wow I am so in love with everything they have done ❤

I remember that I actually listened to MOAC before it blew up since I randomly found it then I was pretty shocked when it blowed up but didn’t think of it that much. By this time I wasn’t a huge Ghost fan since I was pretty obsessed with Queen and like Rammstein while also entering a era with only listening to Elton John mixed with the musical Hamilton.
Then perhaps a time later when that blew over and went a bit chill, I saw more vids about the band and was shocked at how incredible they were live and the plot. So yes I heard Cirice and instantly fell in love. Fast forward a week, I found out “Damn hold on. Those are the same dudes singing MOAC wth.” And now fast forward perhaps 2-3 years ish. I am a massive Ghost Fan which is my hyper obsession for about a year.
I was able to go and see them live at Sweden Rock 10th June and since a lot of other bands I liked were playing that same day, I ended up being in the front row for 7 hours watching these bands and then finally Ghost. There I got a pick from Rain and Sodo threw one to me but I didn’t catch it. Phantom was very adorable and interactive kinda so we messed around. Then got a lot of eye contact with Copia who then also Ciriced me hehe.
I’m so incredible grateful for finding this band. Excuse my rant hehe. 🫶🤭

Ca doit faire 8-9 ans que je connais Ghost et c'est impressionnant de voir l'évolution auprès du grand public avec le temps.
je les ai vus pour la première fois en 2011 avec Papa I et même si à ce moment là j'étais sûre que ça allait prendre de l'ampleur, jamais je n'aurai imaginé à ce point là. Ils ont fait très fort !!!

Kiss the go goat and Mary on cross are really awesome … when it came out people didn’t pay it attention like they did square hammer etc ….but imagine that Tik tok made it catch on

I mean prequel is a great album, I'd be willing to say it's ghost's best album however seven inches of satanic panic is an incredible single, when it came out I was dating my first girlfriend. Heck good times. It was always a classic and I'm not surprised it hit mainstream media.

That’s pretty awesome. My favorite ghost song, knew since the day it was released and thought, man this should be a single, it’d be huge. I’ve thought that about a lot of songs though, but then last year I kept seeing people talking about it and I guess it was because of stupid ass tik tok (social media is ruining the world and if you don’t think so, then you’ll never understand) but I guess this is good, but really people should not rely on that crap to find good music, hey one of my favorites became huge so really can’t complain about that, but still, that stuff should

They tend to play all their big songs. They have a big US tour coming up look up the shows and see if your near one if your in the US im just assuming again

I had no idea he wrote that song for ghost and just knew it from TikTok then decided to check out ghost randomly accidentally listened to ghost mane and then when I finally heard the band i lost it 😂 so good
He writes all the songs for his band Ghost. And a beautiful singer too. Absolutely brilliant how he changes into Papa Emeritus.
I just got the beautiful purple vinyl 7" of "Kiss The Go/Goat" and the flipside "Mary On A Cross". The later should be doing better, as Tobias mentions. I never realized the songs came out in 1969.

It was really random things. The main part was "your beauty never ever scared me". They talk about trauma, horror stories, sad stories, some characters, sometimes romance between opposite personalities etc.
