Willy Russell has always been adamant that he wouldn’t let Blood Brothers become a film. The writing and story lends itself to stage, and wouldn’t transfer across well on to film e.g the same actors playing Mickey and Eddie all the way through their lives, the narrator appearing throughout, just things that would seem out of place in terms of a movie and would lessen the emotional impact and shock the story has on you, and tbh I fully agree.

I saw the early performance of Blood Brothers in Liverpool many years ago and whilst I am sure no one would suggest Barbara has a classic voice she clearly echoed the pain of loss of a loved one. The audience was in tears and perhaps was appropriate for a city that lost so many loved ones at Hillsborough. I have seen other singers perform this song but Barbara's version did I think reflect the tough times evident in the city and many others of the era

Loved this so much. Seen 4 times at very different places. Not usually a musical fan but this stuck!

Saw the great musical in London at 2006,
When I was visiting with my class from the Netherlands!
    Loved it every sec. =]

Certain musical songs have their singer who owns it.
    Barbra owns this one
