- Stronghold Crusader 2 will come out in Q4 2013 and I need to be prepared for it,because of that I started to warm myself up and began to play Stronghold Crusader HD,wish me luck and don't forget to like and favorite this video.
Stronghold: Crusader is the successor to Firefly Studios's 2001 game Stronghold. Crusader has much in common with the original Stronghold, but differs from its predecessor in the fact that the game is no longer set in a pseudo-Europe, instead being set in the Middle East during the Crusades. The game features a multitude of new Arabian units that can be purchased in a new building, the mercenary post. Though the Arabian troops do not require any resources to produce, they are rather expensive. The game was also released as Stronghold Warchest. This version was a compendium of Stronghold and an enhanced version of Stronghold: Crusader, containing additional characters and an additional Crusader Trail.
Stronghold Crusader features several real-time strategy campaign strings. These document the First, Second and Third Crusade, as well as conflicts within the individual Crusader states. Each campaign comprises several battles, such as Nicaea, Heraclea, siege of Antioch, Krak des Chevaliers and the Siege of Jerusalem. The game also features the Crusader Trail, a series of 50 linked missions against various opponents. Stronghold Warchest adds one more Crusader Trail, consisting of 30 linked missions.

Did the same method to take out the first lord. I then used slaves to dig a mote at the nearest river crossing and set everything, including archers and crossbows, at the rear crossing. The moment I was able to breathe was a relief.
I would like to meet a man who made this map... One on one.

Most difficult mission in the whole game
I was no way to pass this mission but i was trying again n again and at last a glitch helped me to do it. I somehow collected 45 stone then i was selling this stone and gold was coming but stone was not losing i was shocked so itried one thing i placed tower and stone was still 45. I started placing as many towers as i can and selling all stone to get gold but stone was still 45 in my stockpile. Then i fucked both the richards and win the mission. Haha
Most hardest missions that i tried some 50 times were

Warning Drums
Plains of Atum
Moonlight Pass
Misty River
The Descent
Inferno
And some more that i dont remember names and ofcourse the last mission.
I have just completed in my first try lol
I think I had a bit of lucky but I managed to defend the first attacks of both to build my economy..

I always check the walkthrough after I win the game lolz
but it wasn't so difficult for me after 5 tries, you just need a perfect begin. In the start it's impossible to defend yourself whatever method I tried.
soooo what i did was destroy my supply and everything and run away with my lord to the left corner.
i made some big base there and build there, easy to defend and i had 4 knights keep running to destroy the catapuls. finished game in 1 hour and 3 minutes :D

anyway I agree, it is not as hard as the comments suggest, but at least for me, definitely the hardest so far, but I beat it without loading game and without sending my lord away like you suggest and in the video. All it took was 2 restarts. I blocked the shallow water on the west, bought a lot of stone to build two towers on the east and placed balistae (to destroy the attacking catapults) and bought 5 crossbows and 5 leather armor, then immediately bulit all the basics in my economy and started to produce bread and more bows and crosbows. It is so hard mainly because you can't gather stone, so the little pieces of iron on the north were the key for me. I built 3 iron mines there ASAP and was selling it all the time as well as extra bread and was buying stone to fortify myself while just training crossbowmen and archers. Always buying stone, repairng towers and walls destroyed by tunnellers, but I did it without sending my lord away or other methods that exloit AI stupidy - avoiding these make it a much more interesting game. Lionheart is a very dangerous enemy in the beginning but pretty stupid too, when he has enough gold, he spends it all on early attacks (kinda like caliph, but he's using much more deadly units) and when you survive those, you've pretty much won, when he spends all the gold, his economy just stagnates
Having no granary actually had its benefit in this mission lol

If he had placed the granary, it would have been destroyed and he would have lost his 60 starting bread. But he got to keep the 60 bread for the moment that the other Lionheart was dead and he placed dhis granary the first time.

for those babbling about "cheat" that happens when popularity jumps to 75, its not a cheat - min. people you can have despite the popularity is 4. if you reduce peasants below 4 with negative popularity it instantly gives you 75 popularity. if this wouldn't happen, with 0 people and 0 resources it would be impossible to do anything
thanks for the walk through. had given up on stronghold crusader because of numerous failed attempts to solve this mission.

War is a dangerous game, my lord. As I kept finding out again and again. Tried so many different beginning strategies, but the endless stream of catapults got through my defenses no matter what I did.

I never would have imagined such a crazy strategy would work.
I was playing this game before (15 years ago and more) this is one of the missions I wasn’t able to pass
Now, I’m playing the game again and I used yours strategy in this mission and the mission before, it works very well 👌👌

When he said 19:05: "and the most important thing (dramatic pause)... Is the market", i nearly shat myself because I really had hopes for him to say the granary HAHAHAHA
I did this mission like any other. Only "glitch" i did was to border the left river ford with a wall (it actually forces the orange Lionheart to attack from above). In the meantime, I made gold from selling the iron and made two square towers (one next to the iron ore and the second on the right side, so it can delete the approaching yellow forces) with 35 crossbow men and balistas. When I finally caught my breath, I started to make more then hundred pikemen, crossbow men and two siege towers, invading them.
Till this day i have finished 48 of them and this one i just cant finish it
Definitively the most difficult. Gets easier if you use a moat to block the close foar. catapults don't fill in moats. Always Use Moats!
you can siege them both at the same time with well placed towers and good economy for right side bottom take a catapult on the tower and left side use balistas on first defensive and then go catapults on the tower to bomb his castle :) the start is quite tricky because u have very few units but u can harass with the 2 cavalry units wich is pretty op :)
Just tried your tactics, and took out the first lord close by. Should make the rest of the map pretty easy.
Update: Okay, was harder than I expected. First I moved back to my keep as you did, and Richard the orange annihilated me before I could get back up & running. I re-tried a bit more cautiously, got my economy started, but my defenses were still too weak and he annihilated me. I tried a third time walling off the west river passage so he would hopefully go around, and put my defenses there, but he mass attacked both sides and killed me. Tried a fourth time by deleting my stockpile and moving it to the far northeast corner with all that farmland, trees and nearby iron. Then I just grinded out the rest of the game. Got wood production going first, then built a few apple farms. Since I pretty much abandoned my keep to Richard, he sat on it with archers, killing all my new workers so I only had food and wood going and couldn't grow my population or army. Was patient and waited for him to move. Then slowly began building my economy with iron mines. He would occasionally return and sit on my keep, stifling my growth, but eventually leave. Fended off repeated attacks, occasionally some baddies getting through and destroying buildings, but I'd rebuild them. Eventually was able to train some archers and crossbowmen to guard my keep, and protect my new workers/army. Fully built my economy, locked down both river crossings, then began producing stone. Mass produced fire ballistas, and positioned 10-15 each near his stone quarries, farms, and iron mines, ensuring he would eventually be unable to grow. Closed in. Built trebuchets. Knocked down his walls. Rushed him with assassins and surrounded his castle with fire ballistas to ensure even if he survived the assassins, he would never be able to move.
Final stat: 50 troops lost, 870 killed. Lost 8 buildings.
I just bought the game but this was also my most difficult mission till now :D
So i tried 5 times in begin and couldn't defend myself whatever I did. finished in 1 hour 3 minutes.
What I did was destroy my supply center in the first second the game start.
Run away with my lord to the left corner and defend from there with 2 guardhouses of 10 stone alot of archers and no walls. Lord stays hidden in the guardhouse
Be ware that they will try to destroy your granary or whatever but they cant destroy your supply center. If it happens just sell asap everything on the market.
Enough wood there + food and build from there.
Had 4 knights running as the peeps respawning in your base keeps dieing so I had to rescue them sometimes and destroy the nasty catapults. Selling food to buy all stuff was easy
Till now corona 2020. Most difficult mission. 😂
It is somewhat easier if you build farms by the locked on oasis where the yellow Lionheart was. Then you can lock up top, then bottom. The trick is: orange will keep on killing your population by the fort (I moved even the stockpile there, so only the fort, which is invulnerable was there), so you will have from time to time to move your archers there to kill his archers.

I did the strategy of destroying my stockpile and moving it to the bottom left part of the map to build farms and cut wood to gather strength down there. Yeah, I forgot to use portable shields. If I had I probably could have pulled off Sergiu's strategy here.
After 5 hours of playing I finally finished 😂😂

Hi, my archers shooting on peasants or other enemy troops(which are far from my castle) while at the same time there are enemy soldiers approaching and very close to my lord.
Is there a way to fix that?

Its not that hard actually. You just put two tall towers with both stone mines then stuff both of then some 20 archers + crossbow each and some 5 shields each. Then you start mining stone and then all is good.
Well yes, except gettubg the resources to do so, while not losing your towers to catapults

Too bad you used another RUclipsr's strategy here. Still good, don't get me wrong but I'd have liked to see you finishing this mission 'regularly'. Definitely one of the best and hardest in the first Trail. Well played, Mylord.
I beat it quite easily actually (well if my sieging didn't suck) I made a tall tower near the stone to the south just a little north and to the west to kill archers and catapults from yellow. I also make 1 treb and collapse his tower. Blocking up the river pass right next to you I buy 10 crossbowmen. That was enough to survive the first attack I then can get enough stone from the south to survive. Maybe a few woodcutter houses on the river to eat up orange's catapult fire, but thats it. 5 iron mines and start making swordsmen.
dont see how this works. orange just destroys my entire base before 5 mins in. he just doesnt attack you for some reason. this is some bs
you are getting hit with catapults 6 mins in and just dont lose anything. why?

TJ Sayabalian It's the game. If you get low popularity for a long time it will make it big. This is how the game works. It's no cheat.

very hard mission, didnt do this strategy i killed off all their economy producing stuff with knights , defending both sides with one defence turret on each side filled with archers, the one for the lionheart on the east i placed around his food supply and quarry, and the one to the west just out of range of the catapults at the top of the cliff on the north west, and 5 fire ballistas whilst using the iron deposists north to get my economy going. Took forever to get the positioning right, very rewarding at the end tho lol.
I no have horses in a this mission at start. I been attacked always in same time of both Richards.
why are you selling bread? instead of giving people more food and taking taxes from them plus negative fear factor gives you double production of each thing

It's the game mechanic, when all your people leave the castle to 0 population you'll get a huge popularity bonus.
Never make crossbow and archer for attack. Only make for defense. Just make 100 horse archer for attack and 50 assassin and everything is finished for the enemy. Dont even bother making crusader swordsman. Crusader army is shit and slow.

But I agree, swordsman is snailmode. Although, some mercenaries are useless or very situational too. Each has strong and weak units. If you gotta use armored men, use swordsman, arabian swordsmen are paper.

Yes, this map is very hard. My special problem it - ignorance about slowing time, this moment very important, and i walked through all maps without time slowing :D it is awesome hard( but some maps i have skipped)
When i saw this video with this special strategy and was really impressed!

just one question. how ur popularity goes up when u dont have food. i mean it goes till 40 or 35 and then jumps for 70 or smt like that?
cause other richard was killing his peasants. he has negative popularity because of food, but his popularity raised because of no taxes (+1 popularity) and since all peasants were killed there was no negative affect because of food
i think i got it... if there is no peasants then u dont have food right? and the positive of tax is always +1...

este tipo es muy bueno me imagino que reinicio como mil veces para poder buscarle el truco este juego es mu entretenido lo juego hace como 6 años realmente mu bueno

SergiuHellDragoonHQ No i mean you didnt had granary when the happiness jumped up to 75 { many times } no taxes nor food so it must be glitch or some kind of cheat, and that feels stupid because i really like your missions and stronghold plays but if its cheat x.x ...
artemis142 WOW! You are right, at 3:55 it's happening the same thing, I seriously have no explanation for this, but let me assure you, I didn't use cheats, If I would, this mission and the other ones, would've been finished 4x times faster. :)
Maybe it's just a glitch. :)
