@@sliiated lmk if u have any other issues. and nope, cant do anything about that app delete checkbox when you switch modes. only way to combat it, use flash drives to store roms and back up the retro arch SYSTEM folder and anything else u need to save, frequently. or just use the 300 box as a retro system
For those following on Xbox one : If you get stuck on the "the console needs to update before you can activate dev mode" go to settings -> console info. While at that screen press LB, RB LT, RT in that order. Choose Developer Options and the first tick box to activate Developer Mode.

You set up folders on root of usb external drive for the systems you want from your computer. then just scan the way the way the tutorial says. Pretty straightforward

Incase some of you reading this, and it didn't work. keep trying. took me a few tries and a different orders to get it to work, but it worked.

I don't think so. I had the same error. Try going to Settings, User Interface, Menu. And then select "xmb".
