If you are having problems with the ssd, right click on the ssd in MY PC, click format, click from Exfat to NTFS, the format it, then run the program that he mentioned. I did this and it fixed it because it wasn't set to NTSF before I set it up with the Xbox media storage program he used.

When i try and access the remote access to the xbox using the given url in the dev home it wont let me open the url it just says that it took to long to load or couldnt load. Update: I downloaded retroarch from the retroarch website choosing the xbox series option. I downloaded it to my xbox via the steps in this video but when I try running retroarch I keep getting the error message "we're having a little trouble with this" (0x80073cf0). Any idea what I did wrong?

I can't get it to run anything, I might be missing something or, there's just not much to run so far - I dunno. By the way... down at Reddit, they do advice to use the Edge internal browser cause the page might not work when trying to pay for the licence, also they recommend using a brand new account if the main doesn't work.

Very good tutorial. I followed it step by step and it seems to work. However, I've never found the XboxserieX version of Retroarch. When I went on Dev store website I just find the One version. As I connected from Canada, I might have came accross a different page... One question: is it possible to download some roms to your Xbox from an external hard drive ? I didn't find a copy-paste option on Retroarch.
I laterally can't log in my Dev Mode account, I've done all the methods I've tried, EDIT I did it, I pressed the Xbox button, and I went to the profile & system part and I logged in normally to my account and it worked!!!!

@@andyharleychannel3817 double check the settings, retroarch will override certain cores without looking for bios files, i've been able to play a few ps1/dreamcast titles that way. There should be a guide telling you all the essential files you need to optimize cores/standalone emulators. Flycast, PCSX2, Duckstation, are all the UWPs I'd recommend using. Dolphin standalone is good but it asks to boot from USB.

Hi thanks for the video. I am having a strange problem though trying to download Retroarch for Xbox Series S from the Xbox Devstore. For some it keeps saying the Network Connection is lost. But my internet is fine, I have even downloaded different products that I do not need from the Devstore and they download ok. I thought I should try to download from the official site, that downloaded ok but the folder you mentioned .appx was not there. I have actually been trying to do this for the last 2 hours but with no joy. My guess is that there could be something wrong with the Devstore download link. Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

In order to update retroarch to the series exclusive version should I just delete the app from the xbox and keep the files on external SSD? I would direct file locations. I think I’ve done everything right so far but when I do the systems bios in retro arch, there’s nothing indicating that the external is in use? No bios, games or retroarch at all. Any chance anybody could tell me what I did wrong?
How do you carry over saves from the xbox to the PC? Works great on xbox but when I plug my USB to play retroarch on my PC, none of my saves carry over, even when I use the same directory location of the usb.

im struggling to access the xbox device portal. i have tried changing my connection from ethernet to wireless, using a different port forwarding rule on my router for my pc and xbox, tried changing my xbox's name. i just get a connection reset message when i try to access the device portal ip address. any solutions or fixes would be appreciated.

You can see the available countries on the sign up page. Many seem to just spoof a region to get cheaper price anyway.

You need a fast thumb drive or SSD if you want to use HD texture packs otherwise it isn't as important.

Bad game files or missing bios files. There is an entire playlist dedicated to getting the cores setup

you need sega CD bios for it run properly. make sure you tell retroarch where to find the bios to run the games.

The back button two different xbox controllers isn't working, trying to change retroarch from app to game.

Can i do this with out having a computer or if i borrow a laptop? Also if i already have an external hard drive for xbox games will doing this delete the games or mess with them some how?
this is great, however when we get to download the retroarch, the link doesn't work and that dependencies folder no longer exist
If dependency files aren't included then they aren't needed anymore.
In order to update retroarch to the series exclusive version should I just delete the app from the xbox and keep the files on external SSD? I would direct file locations. Or would it be better to delete both app and retroarch files on my external SSD basically reinstalling from scratch? Thanks for all of your help
You can keep the files on USB but I would delete the core config files in the config folder and redo those to take advantage of the updates.
The retroarch file on xbox dev store brings no dependencies anymore. Is it okay to continue without them?
If they aren't in the download here package you can usually skip them

Hey there thanks for a very informative tutorial which I have followed step by step but when I get to download the Retroarch zip file from the Xbox Devstore it continuously fails to download after about 112mb? I am a bit stuck now to continue as I have paid my fee to xbox for the privilege of dev mode. Can you please advise/assist?
Choose download from GitHub instead and choose the appropriate version for the console you are using. Mesa for Xbox Series or Angle for Xbox One.
@@ArchadesGames Hi thanks for the quick response and I have tried to find the relevant Mesa on Github but can only see a Mesa ending in .appx and not a zip file could you please provide a link to the correct file as I am wanting to use RetroArch on my Series X console and am quite new with this kind of thing. I get the following message: "This app package’s publisher certificate could not be verified. Contact your system administrator or the app developer to obtain a new app package with verified certificates. The root certificate and all immediate certificates of the signature in the app package must be verified (0x800B010A) and the install button is greyed out? Sorry but I am totally stuck dude.

How do I add texture packs now? Because there is no Dolphin Folder (Dolphin/Load) on my USB drive where your supposed to put it.

I think I’ve done everything right so far but when I do the systems bios in retro arch, there’s nothing indicating that the external is in use? No bios, games or retroarch at all. Any chance anybody could tell me what I did wrong?
How do you carry over saves from the xbox to the PC? Works great on xbox but when I plug my USB to play retroarch on my PC, none of my saves carry over, even when I use the same directory location of the usb.
I'm seriously considering this however one of the guides I was reading mentions having to turn off Two Factor in order to add an account in the test environment? I can't do that. I'm passwordless and people are constantly trying to access my account. Not particularly safe. Any other options?
can I use an SSD without formatting it? I have a lot of stuff on it already (especially from previous dev mode usage that's kinda important)
If you already formatted it for dev mode before then it doesn't need it again
im struggling to access the xbox device portal. i have tried changing my connection from ethernet to wireless, using a different port forwarding rule on my router for my pc and xbox, tried changing my xbox's name. i just get a connection reset message when i try to access the device portal ip address. any solutions or fixes would be appreciated.
I must be crazy - I cannot find the version of RetroArch for the X/S. I only see the single instance for the One presumably. Could they have combined their code?
