@@ATthemusician he can try emulating the PS3 version. Though I'm not sure that I've seen a Vita emulator yet. PS2 is a bit sketch to run though. Any game you can play on Gamecube instead you should. PS2 had a weird split GPU so emulating it is hard as balls and has lots of graphical issues even today.
I always made the most tacky looking cars in those games and loved the way they looked. I would never want something irl that looked like any of those sweet rides I made in racing games.
About it being legal: technically emulation alone isn't illegal but downloading pirated ROMs still is, even if you own a physical copy of the game. The only legal method would be to back up the copy yourself and then run it in an emulator. Or if the emulator can read and play back directly from the disc then that is legal too. PS2 emulation still to this day has a long way to go, you're going to encounter bugs and glitches in most games, even if minor. Playstation has a history of designing very complicated machines that are difficult to emulate.
Its also unethical. Nintendo sell a subscription to play its classic games on their hardware, if you're emulating instead you're robbing them of their right to make money from their property.
The emulation on itself is totally legal, the way you get the games though... 😬 I wouldn't feel bad about it though, because most old games aren't currently available anyway and no one will take my sweet sweet homebrew from me.
If Retroarch lets you map buttons or joysticks from one single physical controller to two separate emulated controllers, you can totally use both sticks for GoldenEye on N64. There is a specific mode that let you use two separate controllers, the one in your left hand would be used for moving, the right hand for aiming and shooting
people have been doing that since the dawn of emulation, Look at Doom Trilogy it has advanced doom controls that use both sticks and makes doom an actual decent game for gamepad compared to the SNES or PS1 ports
As a lifelong gamer and a recent father I didn't get the chance to jump into this generation with both feet. Instead of a ps5 a I got a series s and a game pass subscription. This console is amazing value. I have to say and as someone who hasn't owned an xbox since 360 I'm impressed. Does everything I want and more. I loaded up the ps4 pro the other day and oh lord, there's no going back. For £250 it's imo the best console on the market. Don't sleep on it
Agreed, gamepass + a series S has been incredible for me. I haven't had an xbox since 360, and I feel like I'm slowly playing all the worthwhile games that I skipped over the last 10 years. Ps4+Series S+PC is doing very well for me. Eventually I hope to get a PS5 too, but there really isn't anything that makes me need it right now.
Bought my series s 2 weeks ago and I also haven't had an xbox since 360. Glad I can still play all my old 360 games with my xbox account and all the ultimate game pass has hundreds of games.
Im so happy to see people talking positively about Xbox again. This dev mode and gamepass is a killer combo. I even play Fortnite at 120fps on the Series S that system is a insane value for the price.
Ah nothing quite as sweet as going back to the game I grew up with and turning it to 8K on my 3090. Even better Dolphin even has a hack that totally replaces all lighting which used to be per polygon to full per pixel lighting. Makes it look so much better. God do I wish more people could experience such things.
@@GokuInfintysaiyan usually it's just a binary that can be changed in a note pad program. It's how people used to raise resolution on games back before resolution scaling you know today became standard. Dude, you worked so hard on this and I love it! Your voice is great!

Pirating>>>
Argh 🏴☠️
Who cares piracy is honestly the right thing to do for the community

Its also unethical.
Nintendo sell a subscription to play its classic games on their hardware, if you're emulating instead you're robbing them of their right to make money from their property.
"None of this is illegal"
"There are some legality issues"
The emulation on itself is totally legal, the way you get the games though... 😬
I wouldn't feel bad about it though, because most old games aren't currently available anyway and no one will take my sweet sweet homebrew from me.

If Retroarch lets you map buttons or joysticks from one single physical controller to two separate emulated controllers, you can totally use both sticks for GoldenEye on N64. There is a specific mode that let you use two separate controllers, the one in your left hand would be used for moving, the right hand for aiming and shooting
true, i forgot that was an option. i believe perfect dark supports that too
people have been doing that since the dawn of emulation, Look at Doom Trilogy it has advanced doom controls that use both sticks and makes doom an actual decent game for gamepad compared to the SNES or PS1 ports
This was a damn fine video. I've ran emulators on tablets, phones, and laptops. I think I may just move my emulation to the series x.
This was awesome. Thanks man : )
“There are some legality issues”
But anyway, you can store all of these libraries without losing much space.
where do you get those libraries?
The only legal issue is if you use pirated ROMs

Got mine today, father of a toddler too 😂. To persuade the wife I told her she can get a controller and we can play MK

9:30 that resolution boost on Daxter is awesome
Ah nothing quite as sweet as going back to the game I grew up with and turning it to 8K on my 3090. Even better Dolphin even has a hack that totally replaces all lighting which used to be per polygon to full per pixel lighting. Makes it look so much better. God do I wish more people could experience such things.
I’m wondering if that would work with GameCube RE4
@@GokuInfintysaiyan usually it's just a binary that can be changed in a note pad program. It's how people used to raise resolution on games back before resolution scaling you know today became standard. If you ever buy a game on PC that's from around the 2004 and back era that's usually what you'll have to do unless someone made a one tap program to fix it for you. I'm sure it could be done but it does have the obvious downside of hitting frame rate massively.

I agree. I have a One X and a PS4 and while the One X is a beast this little monster is better (picked one up yesterday). Its super fast, quiet and tiny.
