    Visiting the fragrantica site this morning to see if they had the Cacharel’s I so fondly remember. Then! This bottle of Cabotine caught me eye. (Oh that cap!) I can’t believe how lucky ducky that you happen to have reviewed this one. 💫🌷 It’s in my cart with the Anaïs Anaïs-and LouLou, which I would have repurchased in the original, but was also relieved *muchly to hear you say it was modernized.
    Haha, I’m binge watching your archives for the “cheapies” as you call them. Stocking stuffers for me/from me. Being a recluse comes with benefits that the entire gift fund is for me. 🤭
    Je t’adore, Dacob! Have a gorgeous weekend.

    Hello! Cabotine and Cabochard are favourites in my collection. I have two backups of each.
    It's incredible how affordable they are now. Two treasures that talla about history.
    I use Cabochard in winter and Cabotine un spring, sometimes un summer. People say they like it, so maybe we have to open to vintage perfumes that today still are modern.
    Have a nice day!

    I had no idea she was THAT Gres!
    I bought this one just for the cute bottle. I liked the fragrance well enough, even though it is not my style. Very nice, fresh, crisp scent. Nothing out of the ordinary though...makes you smell clean and well put together.

    OMG comparing every ingredient in the perfume to each pleat in a dress she made....what an incredible image. I am definitely trying this. Can't wait. Also, your vid made me think how fun it would be if you were to do a chat on perfumes that take you home...the comfort perfumes. Maybe you've already done this, but hearing you mention this idea of comfort perfumes got me thinking about it. Hope you're having fun on your big trip! Sending love and safe travels home!!!!

    Correction, Tiffany was released in 1987. I did not discover it until the early nineties. That said, I really enjoyed Tiffany which is unfortunately discontinued in that original formulation. I am able to revisit it somewhat through Cabotine. I love this one for lasting.

    Ohh! Hearing you explain this fragrance really makes it much more fascinating! I never thought why it lasted so long, but was not a heavy ambery, resinous type of scent. There's so much more to it than there seems to be on the surface...kind of like her designs. But if you only knew the trick, it's simplicity itself! 🌺🤗

  • @jaks_bag_attack

    I absolutely love this perfume, I have had it for years, while it is a heavy floral on me it is not that projecting, I smell it and will smell it all day, for me you will smell it in hugging distance. I feel like it sticks on you and it surprises people becasue it does not greet them first till you lean in then it just grabs you. My husband would call it old lady, but not me I think this is an absolutely awesome scent, i know it's just the bottle but I like wearing when I have green on, I have the rose one also, I need to pick up more. For me this is an easy reach along the heavy florals but not to overreaching.

  • @RachelleLove81

    DACOB!!! I picked this up today and I fucking LOVE IT!!! Haven't been this excited about a fragrance since discovering Anais Anais & L'air du Temps. I'm a fussy girl and I don't "love" a lot of perfumes. I tested Cabotine once before, on a paper strip but not on my skin and I walked out without it. Big mistake. In my defense, I had smelled a lot of fragrances that day and even with the coffee breaks, I think our noses just sort of get overwhelmed after awhile. It's like when too many people are talking at once and you have trouble truly focusing on just one person... I didn't give this lovely lady the respect she deserved that day but I heard her loud and clear today. I also think it's a little odd how these sort of "kitchen sink" fragrances, that have 50 different notes somehow come out smelling so simple and clean. Fidji EDT is next on my list. I can only hope it's as beautiful as Cabotine. 💚💚💚

      Have you tried Arpege (1927) ? Now that I own & love Je Reviens, Arpege is next on my list....

    • @RachelleLove81
      @RachelleLove81 5 дней назад

      @writerforlifeify I haven't but I'm curious about both the original and Eclat D'arpege. I love how affordable they are. I can tell you that I absolutely adore L'air du'temps. It's a gorgeous fragrance. Something about it reminds me of Dove beauty bar. It's so feminine, soft & creamy. I also have Ulric de Varens, Indra which is similar but a bit more mature. Some of these classic perfumes blow modern scents out of the water. If I come across something I truly love, I'll check fragrantica and buy all the sister scents. 🩵

    • @writerforlifeify
      @writerforlifeify 4 дня назад +1

      @@RachelleLove81 I sampled L'air du Temps a few years ago. High quality, mature vintage scent but I found it too rose-forward for my taste. It has twice the rose, combined with carnation & violet. Just too rose-y for me.
      If you enjoy a drydown of woods, subtle spices, + powder, try Blue Grass or Wind Song (though WS might be too citrusy for your skin before it dries down).
      My fave floral is the iris, so I gravitate to iris-orris frags with sandalwood & spices.
      The Eclat flanker of Arpege is radically different from Arpege so do check notes & reviews for both.
      Today I will order Arpege & PS Design. I bought & returned Design in 2022 but decided to give it another chance....

    • @RachelleLove81
      @RachelleLove81 4 дня назад +1

      @writerforlifeify L'air is similar to White Linen. WL is just a like for me but I don't love it. It has both hyacinth and lilac but there is something admittedly "barn-yardy" about it. My bottle is vintage and very carnation heavy. I'm not a huge fan of very rose forward scents either but occasionally, if the notes are blended well enough, I don't notice it. I have both Design and Casual. Design reminds me of the Aussie hair care products we had in the 90's. Casual has this amazing lilly/ylang ylang scent that I find intoxicating. I wear that one a lot. Please let me know what you think of the Arpege when it arrives. 🥰

    I have acquired a fondness for this scent . At first, I hated it but it was truly one of the few scents which lingered more than a few moments on my skin--not even the expensive ones can lay this claim for me. This little beauty goes on for hours! It has a wierd scent--vintage floral, spicy I don't know So I tread lightly, only one tiny spritz at the back of my neck because it is strong but now it's my favouite.

    Going down some more memory lane tonight! Ohhh this perfume! A college gal at Hunter introduced me to it her name was Miata ( yikes not the car 😅) ohhh the scent….to me? It’s a lighter burst but similar to my beloved poison…I also feel like a clean French girl wearing this no walk of shame in this! 😅 but your description is poetry and this is a hard one to pin down! One looks at the notes and is like woow 😮so much is going on but they all just meld together like music I also find this perfume is a spring mood booster! I will bring this out after a dreary winter…and the first day that feels like spring! This is also a major compliment getter!! And it’s interesting if these notes were in any other perfume ? For example hyacinth I love the smell of it love it! But any other perfume? Id likely get a headache but I don’t with this! It’s not cloying to me….and sex literally when I smelled this at 19 ….was the first thing I thought about! Ha and I’m not in the gutter but this one and Design? They have this note? That screams sex….either the take me now smell or the after smell of two lovers

You should do a top ten of migraine perfume triggers..... another question, is it anything like the greeness of CHANEL 19?,,,which I can't buy in Canada any more! WTH. @@Hatchification Silences was launched in 1978 by the French house of Jacomo, see notes & reviews. But I heard it was discontinued; you may be able to score vintages, though. Be aware it was reformulated in 2004 & 2012 & is now called Sublime, see notes as there are differences in the current formula. More floral, less overtly green than the original but still the 'queen of green'.
      Just so happens I ordered a bottle of Silences, website shows it arrived at Walmart today so I'll pick it up tomorrow. If it's vintage, the word 'Silences' will appear in yellow cursive font with a detachable cap. If it's Sublime, the cap is integrated into the bottle & the name is printed in white block letters. I have a feeling I'll receive Sublime even though the image on the page I ordered from shows Silences. Well, I'll find out soon enough.
