It’s pretty easy there…. Look for flat-ish bottoms at about 650 feet. You’ll likely see a string of bottom fishing longline buoys tracing the outline of the canyon. They are looking for tilefish, and give you a good range to start. You might try 36 46.4N / 75 41.5W to start. When we have been out there the drift is usually toward the SSW, which makes fishing the Northern side of the canyon easiest.
@@thefishingsailor thanks Bill. I tried bottom fishing there before and didn't have any luck. I have a good spot that we catch lots of blue lines at outside of the Washington, but we are heading to the Norfolk tomorrow from Chincoteague because it's supposed to whip up southerly in the afternoon.
That sunfish at the end was really happy to see you guys
We have seen a lot of ocean sunfish in our ocean travels, but these were the first we ever saw airborn!
Nice tile!
Thanks! It was our guest for dinner tonight, and they are SOOOOO good!
Hey Bill. I'm trying to fish the Norfolk this Thursday. Would you share your tile fish numbers with me? It was a great video.
