Honestly the movie probably won't help. The problem isn't exposure. The real issue is how they tell stories in the video games. (Writing) If they can't do that at the video game level. The movie exposure is absolutely pointless.
If the movie fails, BL4 will more than likely be DOA
Now, i know things are looking bleak in both the community and the future of Borderlands. However, I wanna have hope in this movie. I hope that maybe, just maybe, it may turn out a little good, and the public may see Borderlands in a good light. I have just that spark of hope that this movie's income will help speed up the release of BL4 and...idk man...i just want BL to be good again...

Hey Term, you should consider doing a video ranking/rating the best Borderlands music (original music). The Knoxx Armory/Vault theme from BL1 and the Maliwan Takedown music from BL3 would be way up there for me, with the former being one of the most beautiful/memorable pieces of video game music (IMO of course). Fyrestone music from BL1 also is great. There are a ton more.

Movie theatres are expensive as hell and I’m not putting my wallet through that for this. Now if the Batman beyond movie didn’t get abandoned and the guys who made spiderverse went through with the project I’d go see that hell make another dbs movie and I’ll happily go see it in theatres but a live action borderlands movie? @@reddblueblur Roland isn't the funny guy. You can appreciate Kevin Hart, if that's your thing, but he fails to be the appropriate person for this role. The casting director clearly doesn't understand Roland as a character.

I don’t think the movie will have any impact. Positive or negative. If people can’t separate a non canon movie from the games then they’ve already lost any hope for the series. Video game movie adaptations are already known to suck for the most part. Everyone will already be expecting the worst but if that influences their decision to play the games then that’s kinda stupid imo. A movie can be helpful of course but even if it flops It won’t affect me any. It’s just another movie 🤷♂️

I'm pretty sure the movie is gonna be like if jack never took over hyperion, and tassiter was still the CEO which is gonna be interesting to see... but not good. ONLY because they're just simply removing the fact jack ever existed, but some things HE actually did like the hyperion yellow on everything (which was red/black and very dirty and dull yellows) and predicting pandora was a goldmine for eridium. But hopefully it'll be like a mario movie deal where the actual film isn't as bad as it seems once you sit down and actually watch it.

You see, the reason the Fallout show worked was that Bethesda actually listened to the community. People have dunked on Fallout 4's story for a very long time and Bethesda took that criticism into consideration when writing the show. To me, the show feels like Fallout 3 and 4's story done right.
The question here is, will Gearbox actually do the same with Borderlands? Will they listen to the community? Or maybe they'll continue to do the same things as before, making the story a bad comedy that literally nobody finds funny.

Solid video. As a borderlands fan i fully expect this movie to dumb and nowhere near accurate to the franchise but thats ok. I think most fans will stick around even if the movie flops cause we love the game. People who are on the fence probably wont be encouraged by the movie but thats ok. Borderlands will always have its niche audience and we should all be happu with that!

Well considering that take two has purchased gearbox it does not look good for the future of borderlands. After all we can take a look and see what take to has done to Rockstar and destroyed GTA and RDR. Limiting them to online only and subscription based content. Borderlands is most likely going to be a live service from now on.

Since the day i saw that The actress of Tiny Tina was basing her character on Margot's Harley Quinn i knew this movie was going to be a failure... why? Because she is basing her character on other character instead of you know... BASING HER INTERPRETATION ON THE CHARACTER SHE IS PLAYING!!!!

There is zero chance that this movie even breaks even. The whole thing is just an extension of Randy's giant ego, and an attempt to hobknob with celebrities. I'm sure he probably met some Hollywood types that shared his proclivities about young girls though.

Honestly think this bad movie maybe a saving grace for Borderlands 4. As you'd think Gearbox will want to put out the best version of BL4 to get fans back. So the movie being bad will buy the devs some time to get BL4 in a great shape.

This movie is clearly not aimed at Borderlands fans. I'm worried largely about the fact it will have weirdly young Hammerlock and Wainwright in it and bring in the weird yaoi fans
Whether the Movies is good or not in my opinion doesn't matter to existing fans. All original fans will still buy Borderlands 4. The real question is whether this will get non-Borderlands fans excited for the series. Because now the Borderlands series is made up of 6 games. It's already a slight barrier for new players. Especially those that want to start from the beginning. Honestly Borderlands though I hate to admit it is probably a dead franchise. Here's hoping Randy can kick himself in gear if this flops.

Dude who thought about making a movie about Borderlands this just show how out of touch they are with the player that play Borderlands game like I never cared about Lilith or Tiny Tina or any vault hunter I just care about the gameplay, just shooting stuff and leveling up get more guns its just about the guns and the skills tree. Why they make a movie on a game it doesn't make sense. It defy the whole purpose of why its a video game and not a movie, so pointless so much money just wasted on trash movie when they could invest it on devs to make the best gameplay yet never seen for the next Borderland game but no they have to make a movie cause they still lived in 2008 and think that's where the money at and if they think that its going to get more people attract to the game well they don't even know that's a game until someone say Hey that would be nice if they make a game about that movie lol and they gonna see how much disappointing the story truly is cause its not even that good its no where near a story driven game.
Btw at first when they announce the movie I was thinking that surely its gonna be CGI. They could do a movie on unreal engine 5. but no its a live action. They could do for sure a tales of the borderlands where you pick and choose your choice from the start and just watch it in unreal engine 5 which could gives us a vague taste of how the next borderlands would look like in UE5.

I don't think Borderlands is in the fragile state. I just play Borderlands1 and enjoy the story and have fun.

the borderlands movie wasn't made for the borderlands fans. it's a cheap piece of crap to get a few bucks out of people who don't know anything about the series.
Watching the shows first episode made me want to play fallout. I did mot get past episode 2 of the show, its garbage.
To me, the movie trailer looks decent. I believe the movie will grow the Bdls gamer community. & I don't think the quality of the movie will have any bearing on the quality of the next games. No connection whatsoever.
