    I enjoy your videos and opinions. Thank you!
    I wanna take up for The Hood.
    Dont prepare 8 mods. Roll a 1d8 and pull only the mod you need. The scenario numbered them. You shouldn't need more than 3-4 anyway.
    I feel as The Hood was intended to promote exploring all the (often unused) modulars and how they can interact. Want a Hydra-themed game? Write down 8 Hydra mods and use em. Maybe Hood assembles a team of hard-hitters... Put Armadillo and Modok with other baddies. Hood can make a Spider Verse game happen. Kang and the Anachronauts with Sci-fi and the weirdest content available. Just write em up and roll. Its a blast!

    Very interesting list from a solo player perspective with very clear arguments. I always play two-handed solo and I vastly prefer to play control over rush. So a few things are different for me, but I can relate to basically everything you said. Great video, keep em coming!

    In my experience, Klaw is a fun fight, but Venom takes his extra boost cards mechanic and rolls with it better.
    You need to know when to hit, and when you hit give a good punch. The fact that his side schemes can be thwarted with the damage inflicted while attacking are fun too.
    Being too greedy with chip damage can bite you back hard. Using cards that inflict damage but that are not considered attack (like plan B from the same expansion) can be safe alternatives, specially when the bells are ringing.
    My main problem? The fact that the side schemes do not scale with the number of players. A solo battle is fun, but said side schemes disappear very quickly when playing with friends.
    On the symbiotic strength side, I love it.

    Thank you for your video "Villain Tier List" I agree with your review. Only as a Solo player I like Kang the conqueror :-) I've been watching your videos for a long time and I especially appreciate your honesty and how you share your opinion. Hold that! A list for Marvel Champions that doesn't exist yet and I'm really looking forward to is a "short" Hero trait list. What makes this particular hero special. What are the special powers. And how can you possibly compensate for his weaknesses with certain aspect cards. I am aware that this is not an easy list. But I think there are a lot of people who would be very helpful with such a list.
    Greetings from a loyal fan!

    Nice! I actually really liked this tier list. Do I disagree with you on everything? Kinda. But I liked the reasoning you gave for all of them and it made a lot of sense.
    For me, Collector #1 is the worst by a landslide - everything about him seems to be unfun and I just don't believe the Collection mechanic was ever playtested in solo or in Expert. OOF. He's not the hardest, but I won't enjoy it even after winning.
    My favorite right now is Magog - everything about him seems fun. Good pace, different enough to feel new and unique, normal enough that I can run any deck against him, modular makes a big difference. But in the long run he'll probably drop a bit.

    The reason Risky Business is the easiest villain is that as long as you don't flip him to Green Goblin, he basically puts no pressure on you. This means that you can very safely get setup with all of your supports and upgrades, and only flip him when you are ready to burn him down in a turn or two.

  • @tmcd5049

    Solo rhino just needs an allowance of extra threat on his main schemes, otherwise he's too random. House rule it to suit you. But he is a great way to compare hero decks.

  • @bbyowll
    @bbyowll Год назад +1

    The 3 modular sets! I totally agree it sounds like nitpicking but it's just an actual, real-life, practical thing that makes Crossbones difficult to pull out.

  • @Bumbum_Inspector
    @Bumbum_Inspector Год назад +2

    I agree with pretty much all of this list. Only differences for me is Crossbones, Taskmaster, Venom, Mysterio and Sentinels would be at the top of "Like a Lot," and Ronan would be "Not a Fan." Not sure why but I'm just a huge fan of the villains in the Red Skull box with the exception of Absorbing Man who is okay.
    I also haven't gotten around to getting any of the villain packs except for Green Goblin. Judging by your list, I'm guessing you would say Mojo, Hood, Kang and Wrecking Crew in that order?

  • @wilmtb5898

    I agree almost completely with you and I have to say that Kang is one of my favorite villains BUT I dont play it in solo. He is made to be played in multiplayer.
    If you have some friends to play I consider Kang one of the best gimmicks in the game

    Just finished the Guardians Box for the first time and I have to say Ronan is the stupidest Villain. His mechanics are pretty dumb and don’t really provide much counter play other than just deal as much dmg as you can in 2-3 turns. I enjoyed Nebula and really enjoyed the puzzle of The Collector.

  • @latenightgaming5134
    @latenightgaming5134 Год назад +1

    24:29 it’s too bad that Nebula hero discards all her techniques while Nebula villain is one per turn, then on 3 you have to spend resources to do it.

    Kang is a lot of fun. But I’ve only ever played him with 4 players I think about 3 times. Each game lasted over an hour and a half lol. Not a villain I immediately reach for but he’s fun.

    I have to disagree with your opinions on Venom Goblin. That is the most ridiculous villain. I agree with Descry (I think that is who it was) that believes this is the hardest in the whole game so far. I don’t find him fun at all. I even nerfed him by taking out Goblin Gear and it was still barely a win with Adam Warlock Wild Tutor. I played the campaign and it was fairly easy but then Venom Goblin on campaign with all the added negatives that he gets (like a side scheme and minion) made the game impossible. I had to just replay without any campaign effects and just barely squeaked out a win…and I think I might have missed something so I don’t even know if it was a legit win. Like Ronan, I don’t find this scenario fun at all as there are just too many things going on and you can’t even use one way or another to pull a side acheme as he has TWO and they are both awful. Ugh. I love your channel, Jason, but boy…venom goblin. Boo….

    • @D20Woodworking
      @D20Woodworking  Год назад +1

      I feel like this is the same exact thing people said about Ronan when he was a newer villain. He’s the worst. Never play him. Nerf him. Etc. and as the card pool got bigger now people are like. He’s really hard. He’s a challenge but it can be done. I imagine the same with VG over time.

    You seem to not like a lot of the scenarios. They each have different designs and intentions, but they all have a gimmick you can do something about, be it rush strategy, stun/confuse, or build and go. Also, it is important to remember that this game is designed for multiplayer which can be played solo.

    • @D20Woodworking
      @D20Woodworking  Год назад +1

      I understand they each have their own gimmick, I just don't always like the gimmick. Some I just don't think is executed well. Looking at this list I think what I like vs not like is very well spread out.
