I agree. Loki, V. Goblin, Ronan, Collector are the hardest on standard. My Opinion: Loki: Heroes like Cpt America works well since he doesn't have a lot of over kills. And will be overwhelmed by Allies and vivian in 2 player games with 2 copies of vivians and 6 copies of regroups timing perfectly with Maria Hills. V. Goblin: Heroes like Thor works well since goblin spams symbiote and thor loves that kind of stuff. the more symbiote Thor defeats the more resources he gets for more damage output. Ronan: Justice Heroes like black widow combo with a stunner works. Her prep cards can destroy a lot of his over kill attachments and hammers while the other hero stun/confuse lock him. Collector: Event spammers like Gamora works well against him. He is very squishy.
Thanks for the fun video! Great ranking and thinking behind it. Just for lolz, this is where my ranking really differs: Thanos drops down because his encounter cards aren't that scary, he can easily be chumped by allies all game and his main scheme needs lots of threat to advance. Collector I goes up because it's so brutally difficult for most heroes to not lose to the Collection in solo, and because the recommended encounter sets are very difficult. Loki I think is not as difficult as Ronan so he drops down, although he is a real slog to get through. Mutagen Formula drops down because he's about as difficult as Ultron and Red Skull, definitely not on Nebula and Zola's level. He used to be relatively more difficult, but those days are long gone.
Thanks so much for your input! I really love hearing the different experiences from the community. I think a lot of this comes down to my play style. I really like trying to stun/confuse and I don't go Ally heavy. So, anyone with stalwart and steady are REALLY difficult for me (Thanos/Loki), and I will always hate anyone with the Infinity Gauntlet. I think Collector for me stays there since I don't use many allies, I don't often get THAT worried about the collection. I will admit, I haven't played Mutagen in a while. I'm sure this list will be living, when I have the chance to go back to other villains and Mutagen very well might move. Thanks SO much for your input!!!
@@svendejong8110 yeah I can totally see that. Venom is debatably my favorite character, but I’ve never drawn shadows in that fight with him. Yeah, TOTALLY game over
Its interesting to see this point because i never play solo(Mostly dual hand or in 3 with friends). And my rating would be so much different Villains with helpers (Like Drang or Master Mold) are clearly designed more for multiplayer. Theser helpers makes fights easy but only because you are in solo. In multiplayer many villain effect scale up but helper does not. So suddenly milano just cant solve side quest on its own. Also with few exception i never cared if villain has stalwart or not. In solo you can stop villain turn but in multi its just one atack, not a big deal. Its also suprising that you have Sabertooth so low, For me its always big challenge, especialy when i play dual hand. Mystique can make this fight so much harder. Before i can take her down he always heal back to max and her cards can mess your turn its not even funny. I lost so many times against him and she was always the reason.
What an amazing time for you to make this comment!!! I just made an updated ranking that is posting TODAY. In my new video I talk about so many points you just brought up and I can tell you how right you are. I specifically talk about Master Mold and how for me Magneto makes the fight trivial because he crushes minions, but it’s only because I play true solo! And you’re right about the Milano, I said that specially when talking about Drang this time too! How you can just let it take care of the threat you you can focus on Drang! Sabertooth, and because of true solo, I think is SLIGHTLY easier. Again, because of your points with stuns and confuses. I haven’t played him in a bit, but if im remembering correctly, he needs to activate in order to heal, so I usually never just give him the chance. Mystique makes the fight EXTREMELY difficult, and one thing I TRY to think about when making this list is, “What is the villain trying to do”. Like, “what’s their gimmick”. I try to remove Modular’s from the equation and just think about the villain themself. You’re 100% spot on with everything you said, and I’m REALLY excited to see what you have to say with the new video!!!
Just found out about your channel, that's great to see more MC contents! I will definitely follow your channel. Your tier list is definitely solid, and I agree with you for the most part. I also play true solo / standard most of the time. The only points where I'd differ (from my personal experience, RNG, etc.) is Project Wideawake/Collector I. I thought we had it bad with Collector I (which I can agree is B on Standard, but Expert is another matter entirely, like the rest of GMW), but Project Wideawake felt terrible to me because of the inability to bring back captured cards. Some encounter cards contribute to reaching the loss condition must faster too: Warn the Others, for example, is in theory a well designed card, but in true solo it just doesn't work: you either add a card to the "collection", or you flip to alter ego, thus having 80%+ chance of... adding a card to the "collection"! I need to test this scenario more, of course, but my first attempts just felt unfair. Not Expert-Nebula type of unfair, but still. From what you said, it sounded like Loki was a hard experience for you, whereas here was mine! One thing I'd like to bring up for the Mansion Attack Scenario is that I found its difficulty can greatly vary depending on which villains you face, and in what order. Starting with Toad, for example, made the scenario really challening. The active location and its combination with the active villain will also contribute to raising/lowering the difficulty. I definitely need to test this more. Aside from that, I think your choices are sound. Keep it up!
Thanks so much for your thoughts! I think my RNG and heroes used for Project Wideawake and Mansion might be a big factor as to where I ranked them. I am 100% going to test them a few times more, and see if I re rank them when the next set of villains comes out. I do agree about the wideawake collection making it "unfair" at times, but I only got close to losing with it maybe one time. Again, RNG and hero used are probably influencing it. Same thing with Mansion attack. I will 100% test both these more based on community feedback. But Loki? I hate Loki so much lol
This was a fun and solid list! I'm curious if you play primarily on standard. I think that could contribute a lot to where you are ranking villains compared to me.
Hey, thanks! Much appreciated! You know, I always forget to mention SOMETHING important, and I thought I had everything this time haha. Yes, I play primarily on standard. I’m ALMOST done with playing all the content, I just need 4 heroes left I think, and than I’m going to go through all the villains on Expert. Love your content by the way! 🤟

@@marvelchampionsxp I always forget to mention things like that, so you are not alone. Welcome to the Marvel Champions content creator community as well!
I love Gambit too. The boring answer is, he can probably beat everyone with the correct deck. The “spicy answer is”, he probably struggles against villains that ramp up the threat quickly and/or hit heavy. He likes to flip, so Villains like nebula will probably be difficult. Juggernaut hits like a god damn truck, I can see that being difficult. And probably collector 1 and 2 will be difficult for him. Great question!
Yeah I can see how that can happen. Sinister Six CRUSHED me the other day because I had the worst card draw on both sides. And I find that one fairly easy. But yea, if you get bad draws with mysterio, he can be bad
Loki....Standard mode and expert mode difference is in expert mode you get the expert mod and one more loki. the fricking gauntlet is still around!!! This makes Loki the hardest of all bosses in standard.
@@Frosty5.0 Oh totally. Just cause you can “game” her doesn’t mean she’s not fun. Sometimes you’ll get a bad draw, but I love the idea of having to “go through stages” to finally get to her. Thanks bud, I appreciate it!
Sorry, you lost me straight away with Mysterio as being easy and unremarkable. He's not the hardest but he is one of the most unique villains released.
I can totally see that. I recently played with my friends vs Magneto and he was brutal. However for me, the randomness of Loki gives him the slightest nudge. You could be setting up to attack him one way, he changes form and everything goes down the drain. They’re both brutal though.
I agree. Loki, V. Goblin, Ronan, Collector are the hardest on standard.
