It was the first NFS i ever played and I was also fascinated with F&F and the time. Great times for sure!

This game (and the F&F movie) set so many of us down the righteous path of beautiful bodywork, horsepower, and reckless speed. I can't imagine how tragic cars will be when my child is old enough for one...

This video is how i got exposed to the second generation Mitsubishi Eclipse, And the start of me liking them a lot even today. i used it in Underground 1, And 2, Along with pretty much every other game where i could get my hands on one. All though, I also developed a real soft spot for the first generation Eclipse.
As a 14 year old this gave me chills (and it still does) and I knew so much about cars and couldn't drive them (grew up broke too) now I just turned 36 and I have a modded out challenger and g37s coupe birth 6MT and that's thanks to Gran Turismo and NFSU (but more GT 😝)
One more interesting thing when you think about it, the intro of the game has alot of elements taken from 2Fast2Furious first race, the overtakes, the shifting, the bridge jump and etc..

Fantastic trailer / intro for its time but it always bugged me how you couldn’t actually modify your car with an aftermarket sound system even though they show it and why that driver is racing in high heels….. lol
You know what's sad is when underground came out, despite how good it looked for the time, we wished it would look as good as this intro vid and hoped eventually a NFS game wud come out that looked this good.. but sadly now we play modern NFS games that look 1000 times better than this vid and yet wish they were as fun as underground 1 and 2 was 😅
NFS Porsche, NFS Underground and Midnight Club 2 are the only racing games I actually played properly and completely all the way, got very fond memories of all 3. Tried many others since but never got into any of them, except maybe Forza Horizon 5 a bit.

Curb weight for a 99 gsx is almost 3300 lbs. that is not light weight.
Mici Eclipse is one of a few best cars in U1 and U2.
I played it again 2 years ago, this game is still a masterpiece. Really better than NFS U2. It got a real spirit.

I have completed this game. This game is very tough. One of the best gameplays ever created!
Not really though. I constantly only played very hard. The only races that were actually difficult on very hard were the drag races.
