    Hey Rich, greetings from the Outer Banks. I just moved here about a year ago and your videos were the ones I primarily watch to learn how to read the beach. I’m glad you are feeling well and back to work. Thank you so much for your gifts of teaching us about the beach. God bless you.

      Hey OBX! Pretty much my back yard depending on where you are. I try to get down there when ever I can. Between the point, the sound, the bridges, etc, there's a whole lot to discover. It's paradise. Enjoy the process.

    I've watched your videos many times. Your knowledge and willingness to share it took me from not catching fish for years at the beach to being one of the few who regularly catches fish in the surf wherever I go. I'm not an expert nor am I anywhere near being at the top of surf fishing but I have drastically improved how much I catch on a regular basis just by sitting back and analyzing what's in front of me. Often times it just jumps out at you once you look at it for a little bit. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

      Hi brob. I'm glad you found my videos helpful on your journey. It takes a while and it's always a continuing learning experience, but that's what makes it fun, at least for me. I got some new stuff coming. Thanks for watching.

    Glad you're back making videos. Great bunch of tips. Since moving south,it's a lot different than the Jersey Shore. This should help me select spots that should hold fish.

    The fish eye view makes it difficult but Love the video how you paused it for a few minutes so the viewer can analyze it and then you do your analysis always great work.

      Hi JT. That's the last video with fish eye. The next in the works will be regular hi-def.

      Great video. I had fished the surf several times before finding your videos, but I had little to no idea where to fish. Fishing streams, I always new where the fish would be hiding or laying. Now I can see some of that looking at the surf. Thanks very much.

    What can we learn from surfers when trying to surf fish?

    • @richtroxler
      @richtroxler  Год назад

      Usually where holes, dips, or rips are. Because the waves break close to shore, or the current runs out in the case of a rip, this is typically where surfers enter and swim out. Then they move sideways to get to the break, which is either a sandbar or a point, or some sort of shallower water that produces a longer, more extended break.
