@@galaxyheavymetal5292 nobody cares what Judge is doing. He can smash 80 HR per season and people will still talk about Ohtani. Judge is just another MLB future HOF player but Ohtani transcends baseball.

He’s proving whoever says he’s not playing defenses as a DH, by giving his team, more offense with stolen bases. You know what they say, best defense is a better offensive!
This man is single handedly changing the MLB and baseball worldwide.
Isn’t it strange that Shohei is projected to hit less home runs this season. They said the main reason is that he is not pitching ☺️ this season.
Either baseball has been missing the two way opportunity since Babe Ruth, or they were just duping us till Shohei came on.
Two way play is a whole different level. Shohei is proof. Hope he earns 60/60
Less? He's tied his season best, as far as I know. One more and he's set a new personal record.
Well
Said. This man may single handedly bring back Griffey fans (like myself) that haven’t been all that happy with the sport since he left it. This man is magical.
Trolls who are cheering for Ohtani to not get 50/50 this season are to stupid to ever comprehend how impressive it is that he made us THINK he COULD do something like that.. to even get this close. Nobody has come within 8 HR or Steals of this goal EVER. Those in the 40/40 club took 150+ games to do it in, and he gave himself 5 + weeks left in the season after he got there.
Trolls who cheer against his foundation of the coin flip club, cannot even know how incredibly hard it is to hit 50 HR in a season, against consistently fresh pitchers who are all throwing 100 MPH or more.
Back in Jose Cancecos' day, when he took an entire season just to get 40-40 , it was easier to steal yes, but the average pitcher was throwing 90 MPH and you got to face them 3-4x in a game. Now it's one or 2 AB VS 100 MPH.. there is no comparison.
50/50 way greater than 60+HR season since most power hitters don't SB either bc don't have speed or fear of risking injury.
Underrated comment / fact !
To all those wondering why it was so empty in Dodgers stadium today -- because it was 102 degrees and us Angelenos aren't used to that type of heat.... Props to those that made it
Thank you. I was wondering that! Being a former LA resident & currently in Phoenix (dodger fan) I'd gladly bare that temp now

Unbelievable. This guy is different
Shohei Ohtani will Win the MVP this year, his numbers are so much greater and leads Lindor in 12 offensive cetegories. The other DH for MVP in the past were never close to 50-50 an all around player like Ohtani. The closest Major League Baseball has come to a DH MVP was Don Baylor’s win in 1979, when he started 97 games in the outfield and 65 as the Angels DH. Don Baylor did win as a parttime DH in 1979, Runs-120. RBI-138. HR-36. SBs-21. And five times has a DH finished in the top three of the AL vote, 1993: Paul Molitor came in 2nd in MVP, Runs-121 RBIs-111. HRs-22. SBs-22. 1995: Edgar Martinez came in 3rd in MVP, Runs-121 RBIs-113. HRs-29. SBs-4. 2000: Frank Thomas came in 2nd in MVP, Runs-115 RBIs-141. HR-43. SBs-1. 2005: David Ortiz came in 2nd in MVP, Runs-119 RBI-145 HRs-47. SBs-1. 2014: Victor Martinez came in 2nd in MVP, Runs-87. RBI-103. HRs-32. SBs-3. Some had the numbers like Ohtani but were'nt all around player like Shohei who could go 50-50.
The 1st guy to accomplish 50/50 deserves the 1st DH to get MVP.
Pretty simple and obvious.
Remember there's six players that got to 40-40 and three of those player were on the juice (Canseco Bonds and A Rod) so it's really 3 players with legit 40-40 club and Shohei could be the only 50-50 club.

The fact that Ohtani's home run ball bounced off the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers World Series Champions plaque and ended up in the hands of a fan wearing an Angus Young (of AC/DC) jersey, born in the very same year, is more than just a coincidence.
