Ridiculous. Otani has less than 900 hits and less than 225 home runs. By contrast Hank Aaron, for just one example, if you take away his 755 Home Runs he still finishes with over 3,000 hits. Otani's had some great recent success the past four or five seasons, but he may not even be in the Top 100 All Time. He's got a long way to go to get there.

What I enjoyed so much here is watching the faces of the people in the crowd when they knew it was a homerun. And the look on Mookie Betts face. The awe and joy of their reactions is so great. Ohtani has brought a joyous fun to baseball. Those people are so enjoying the history being made. And in some small way, those fans are now part of that history. Watching grown people having fun, reveling in the baseball heroics of their favorite player, that's truly special. Memories that they'll look back on fondly for the rest of their lives. Most players take 12-18 months to recover from Tommy John surgery. This pitcher is playing under not one, but second surgery, and the surgery was exactly one year ago yesterday (where he made history with 6-6 3 HRs 10 RBIs 2 SBs).
Last year he had a 2 HR , 8 RBI game and they still lost like 15-13 then he had to come back the next day and strike out 13 batters just for them to salvage a win

That 92MPH pitch was supposed to be a strikeout pitch, well above the zone. And I bet you Shohei was thinking, "He's trying to get me to whiff, he went low last pitch, he's probably thinking high heat, how about I adjust my swing a few inches higher..." Shohei getting better and better as a slugger and baserunner is probably terrifying to opposing pitching staff. Sure, you can walk him, but then he'll just steal second and possibly third. You can take your chances and try to get a strikeout, fly ball, etc., but with him being able to reach everything but a ball in the dirt, their options are dwindling.
