Hes worth watching for sure. This year he’s winning the first ever in history most valuable player award as dh, ie a hitter only. With his bat he has proven himself as one of the best players of this generation. But as I’m sure you’re aware, he is also a top 5 pitcher recovering from Tommy John surgery. Next year, not only is he gonna have his incredible mvp worthy bat, but he will also possibly be contending for the cy young award as a pitcher. Nobody has ever done both pitching and hitting at an effective level simultaneously unless you’re talking 100 years ago when mlb wasn’t even a full time job for many of its athletes. To do both at an elite level? Never going to happen again in our lifetimes, I can guarantee you. Ohtani is the perfect combination of talent and extreme dedication.
@mr.bob.garcia Ohtani becomes even more entertaining next season because he will start pitching 2025 season! If you don't know baseball, just to inform you, Ohtani is the only super elite(true) 2 way baseball player in the world. He's the only person who can both start pitching for 23 games and also lineups as DH in every game including his on pitching days. He's the only one to be super elite in both pitching, hitting, and running/stealing bases in the world and in MLB. Ohtani is a rehab pitcher in 2024 because his arm was serious injured and got arm surgery in last Sept. Ohtani in 2024 couldn't pitch, so he started to steal a lot to help team suddenly from July because many of his teammates were injured for several months. Basically baseball players who are taking DH position can hardly run, so they are very good hitters esp hitting many HR. And pitchers don't need to do any hitting jobs anymore as they only pitch and aren't in lineups for hitting at all, they're usually not good in running too. However, Ohtani as DH & starting pitcher (rehab pitcher in '24), it's unbelievably fast in running bases. Especially players of his size usually can't run fast because they are easy to get injury as speeding up in running bases. Usually a DH usually only steals a few bases a year. Yet Ohtani had a highest stealing record of 26 in 2021 & stole 20 in 2023 while also served his start pitching jobs. However, after mid June, Ohtani got to lineup as leadoff as another major hitter, Betts, in team got broken hand & was gone for 2 months. So Ohtani got substituted him to be lined at 1st and since then Ohtani started to steal a lot of bases and ran more extra bases to help team to win. At the end of '24 season, Ohtani, who hit 44HR and stole 20 bases in '23, hit 54HR & stole 59 bases. He also increased his RBI & R from 95RBI & 102R in '23 to 130RBI & 134R to cover up so many injured hitters & pitchers. And his hitting avg. also increased from .304 to .310 even his AB were tremendously increased too. At the same time, he had to rehab as a pitcher and had many restrictions on hitting as well like the strength usage of his surgical arm and numbers of swings allowed daily etc. So what you see from highlights aren't tell you the stories behind. Before Ohtani broke all the records all the way to 54-59, no one in baseball history can ever reach 43-43 (hit 43 HR & stole 43 bases in a season). Even over hundred years of baseball history, the highest was a record of 42-42. Not until Ohtani broke all historical records all the from 43-43 to 50-50. He found the 50-50 club and went till 54-59. Since he's going to start pitching in '25, this might be the last season for him to reach this high record as he might have to steal less to save energy for pitching. So my recommendation for you is to watch all his 54HR & 59 steals in one mlb.com RUclips collection video.

He’s led baseball to new hope…
duh this was his 2nd AB in the post season duh
@@tamehamehaprints3604 Ohtani already in his first postseason game has done more than Judge in his playoff career, and Shohei has more hits and total bases than Trout in the postseason.
Never watched baseball until this guy
Like all superstars, Ohtani delivers on the big stage.
Monster Shohei
MVP!MVP!MVP!

He is The baseball player.
Such a pure stroke, the sound it makes you just know its a home run when he hits one solid.
Shohei Ohtani is the Greatest MLB Player Since Babe Ruth And Shohei Ohtani brought the Fun Back to Baseball ⚾️ ❤❤❤❤
The man is MLB.
That man is just built different, the Goat. Even on my Playstation video game of me as Shohei Ohtani with extra gold chip and points can't beat the real thing.
何回見てもほんとにかっこよすぎるよ
Ohtanis home run is the most important home run of the postseason. I was there at this game a month ago
Amazing.
This is all I can say.
It's amazing.
MVP mode.
He is a real GOAT!👍
夢に思い描いてたポストシーズンの大谷がいきなり見れた!!!✨️✨️
Ohtani adding the post season fire the Dodgers have been needing.
I’m an A’s fan and I got so hyped when he hit the homer. Quite literally watching a living legend
Even knowing what was coming the sound of his contact made me flinch. That was LOUD.
First underpay MLB player. He is worth a billion!! MVP!!
😂😂😂
for real his $700M seems more and more like a bargain every game he plays.
@@oldfrend
10years,$1000M
Shohei proving to people who said he was overpaid why he is worth $700M
Dodgers could've gave him the first billion dollar contract in Sports history m, they'll make that money back from their tv contract, merch sales and sponsors within 2 years
1:42 I have not seen or heard Dodgers stadium that electric since Puig’s 3 run Homerun against Boston in 2018. GOATANI!
Congrats Shohei. 🎉🎉🎉 First HR and First Win in post season match.
i love the dodgers and i love ohtani
SHOHEI OHTANI

Shotime!!!! Unbelievable HR!!!! Worth every penny!!
What a swing and I love his intensity. He's in his first postseason and is having a blast.
That bat flip said…all the frustrations with the Angels are gone.
