obviously it would change approach, but statcast has him only hitting 49 if every game was at yankee stadium (i guess because it's deep to the gaps). the most they have is 61 at GABP.
I saw a graphic posted somewhere this year that showed each player's "no-doubter" home runs that would out in every park and Ohtani was a few ahead of Judge in those.
Of course, the opposing team's broadcast crew is going to tone down the call of an Ohtani HR almost every time. But that crew covering the Rockies was an insult. He says in this low voice with no energy: "Ohtani got that one." Yeah, he got it alright. He hit it into the pine forest 476 ft away. The announcer could have easily said it with more passion, admitting that the HR was that awesome.
No one is going to be excited about a home run against their team 😭 like asking a Cubs fan to cheer for a Brewers or Cardinals player to smack one 450 off Shota
agreed, this isn't the worst but some ppl just still cant appreciate his greatness because it can be so imposing. We've never seen greatness like this before, so seems like some ppl try to deny it or minimize him. The announcers dont have to hype up the opposing team but at least appreciate a 473 ft blast from the greatest talent we've ever seen.
@@cactusjuice915 I didn't say they should be enthusiastic, did I? I said it's typical for them to "tone down the call of an Ohtani HR" but if he does hit a spectacular one it's ridiculous to announce it under your breath. Nothing wrong with showing respect, especially for a player regarded as the best ever to play the game and who has fans in every ballpark. Numerous fans for other teams have posted that they follow Ohtani and really appreciate him. Let the announcers convey an ounce of that.
Going to the Dodgers is probably the best move Ohtani ever made. Yeah I know, still no rings but 1000 times better than staying on the Angels. Look at Mike Trout. He's been in purgatory for a long time.
This is his first season away from the Angels, so he's probably feeling some way about seeing his team's previous superstar playing against them, with their rivals from 30 miles away no less.
FYI: I played outfield. Y’all know how when a batter gets the barrel on the ball and they know it’s going to go? Even if it’s only 10 feet gone? Same goes for professional outfielders; meaning they know it’s gone, but they put on a show to make whomever unsure, and also to show the manager they hustle. Yeah that’s it, that’s all.
Ohtani hits both fastballs and breaking balls equally well. If I pitch to him (as a right hander), I'll brush him off a few inches inside first. Then, I'll keep throwing low and away. Hopefully, he'll go fishing and will hit a weak grounder to my second or first baseman.
I wonder how he would do as a complete baseball player? He is part time, being a DH, which ruins baseball for real fans of the game, like all the crazy rules with a clock. As far as MVP, how would La do without him? Probably would still be in the playoffs. Now where would the Mets be without Lindor? Not where they are now, probably in 3rd or 4th place. THAT’S what an MVP IS, It isn’t just stats , it a team player. No way does this DH deserve an MVP award!
I sometimes take for granted how cool it is that every stadium in the league looks so different. I don't many sports, if any, where there is such variety in not just the stadium's look, but the dimensions of the field of play. It's amazing to see the beautiful backdrop when the Dodgers play at home, juxtaposed with Ohtani hitting a home run at Wrigley, then Oakland's ugly ass stadium, etc. It's such a cool thing. I don't know about you guys, but I've always been a huge fan of Pittsburgh's ball park :)
If Ohtani played in Yankee Stadium probably he had crushed more than 65 HR.
He'd have 60 for sure. Light work in that small field.
obviously it would change approach, but statcast has him only hitting 49 if every game was at yankee stadium (i guess because it's deep to the gaps). the most they have is 61 at GABP.
Right field short porch. He can just pull his hit (lefty) all day if he wants hit a cheap one every now and then.
I saw a graphic posted somewhere this year that showed each player's "no-doubter" home runs that would out in every park and Ohtani was a few ahead of Judge in those.
Ohtani's bat hits the ball "crack"
Ranger's announcer: "Ohhh boy."
LOL
Just this last stretch he hit one and the announce just said "oh no" lmao
The bat makes more noise than the annoucer what an embarrassment
Angels announcer is the most excited lol
Maybe let them finish the call before moving onto the next clip
😅
Ya bro was doing gods work but he fcked up
C’mon there’s no time for that.
@@recommended1782 huh?
Seriously 😂
What's the hurry, my guy? Let the calls breathe a little bit
Exactly
His home runs are so impressive that even the Giants announcer couldn't hide his excitement
The sound of him hitting, sorry, crushing the ball is amazing.
Maybe the best part of this video - the pitcher reactions!
I've been waiting to hear how the opposing announcer reacts to his 50/50! Amazing video!
Away game looking like home game when ohtani is batting
This is more fun when you focus on pitcher and catcher reactions. Most of them know immediately 😆
I feel so bad for the pitchers. They all look dejected when they look back and watch the ball sail into the stands.
man RIP to the GOAT Vin Scully he would have a blast comentaing Mookie Freddie and Shohei!!!
I would have loved to hear the stories he would have said on air if he had the chance to talk to Mookie, Freddie, and Shohei
I love the sound of his bat contacting the ball. You just immediately know it’s going out.
Giants announcer John Miller. Always class.
best call of all
Jesus christ, some of these are absolutely demolished.
we may be rivals, but I respect that giants announcer for giving our guy what’s due.
Giants and Cub announcers did great!
The one at 1:12 is probably my favorite this year. The birds are like, "dude, trust me, we're fine right here. Wait...WTF is that? GO GO GO!!!"
When you hear the clack sound of the bat..
Love hearing the opposing announcerss to Ohtani's HRs! Thanks!
I love the crowds “oooh” when he hits it
The Angels calls were bittersweet
This a fun video, watching every pitcher's reaction too.

Why would they be enthusiastic when it's their own team they're watching lose?

3:22 Rt fielder didnt bother to look. lol
Most of them sound salty lol
And/or defeated😅
Ohtani will lift the Dodgers' postseason curse.
Breaking ball inside = home run
W Vid my man, keep it up
I liked one call, think it was a national called game, where the play-by-play guy just laughed. I love love love the sound of that bat.
Is it just me, or do the Rockies announcers sound more and more depressed as this video goes on?
the very understated "oh boy" by the rangers guy was hilarious
The Rockies announcer straight gritting his teeth through some of these blasts lmao
Home game or away game, everyone's cheering for him😂
oh yeah i was waiting for this
When he's done he'll likely be the greatest DH of all time.
Going to the Dodgers is probably the best move Ohtani ever made. Yeah I know, still no rings but 1000 times better than staying on the Angels. Look at Mike Trout. He's been in purgatory for a long time.
0:59 best part lol
Yankees annoucers like "yeah well.. what about Judge?"
I love the guy at :59 “ooooh boy”
Sound is so sweet👍
They don’t sound too excited 😅
1:33 You can tell this man is both angry and impressed 🤣
Although that's true for most all of these lol
This is his first season away from the Angels, so he's probably feeling some way about seeing his team's previous superstar playing against them, with their rivals from 30 miles away no less.
@@ThisGuyHasName Dear god. I'm so blind I didn't even notice it was the Angels....🤓

Love lookimg at the pitchers after he hits it, some even dont bother looking
Listen to that crack !
Steve Berthiaume's utter disdain for the Dodgers is always funny to me. He doesnt ever hide it.

Love it
Opposing team's announcer sounds so depressing, once they hear Shohei bat unique contact sound!
my favorite might be the rangers "oh boy"
What in the actual fuck is the point of making a video about announcers calling home runs if you cut it off before they finish the call
Angels..
Can you make a longer version please?
I wonder how many homeruns would Ohtani hit if he played for the Rockies?
Cool video🤝🏼thank you🫡
This guy is a baseball psycho. How can he be so good jeezus
Change your title. You cut almost everybody off.
1:59 I heard the other announcer
Ohtani seems like he's disappointed when he hit a homerun, because it didn't go far enough.
My favorite part is when the pitcbers dont even look
they aren't very enthusiastic are they.....but soil themselves and do cartwheels celebrating their guys.....I miss Vin Scully
5:57 look how high the pitch was on #52!!!
dudes goat
Goat DH.
Rockies announcers are always so salty lmao, even in years past
They don’t sound as excited as the dodgers announcers

this video had so much potential but you're just rushing through the calls. lame

........And then there was Joe Buck (CRINGE!)
5:19
is he good though?
