Perfect timing for the video as I am using the R&R for my 1/72 Moebius Skipjack and really appreciate the insights for setting the cylinder up. Stay tuned for my forthcoming order of misc. bits to complete the cylinder. Thx, Bob!

Hi Bob. Would you share is the ballast system is Snort type? I see there is a vent hose protruding out from the cylinder

The snorkel valve is not a snorkel in the truest sense of the word. It is used only as a vacuum break. When fully submerged the pump creates a partial vacuum inside the ballast tank as you surface, this is equalised as soon as you break surface and the valve opens. The valve has a designed in leak, this is to prevent the possibility of an hydraulic lock within the pump.

Hi Bob. As the R & R ballast system uses a gear pump with a vented tank, does it suffer from leaking/premature flooding when the sub is surfaced given the system does not use a pinch valve?

It can't leak back, the tank can only fill up to the horizontal baffle plate with the vent in it.

Hi Bob, am about to embark upon my first submarine model - Arkmodels' ViiC U-Boat and I have an 80mm R&R cylinder. Now your videos are an immense help - thank you! Please tell me - the motors were wired in parallel were the not? Thanks! John

Yes, motors are wired together to one ESC. Be sure to ensure that they are spinning counter to each other when you finalize wiring.

Gear or wobble pump. Windshield washer pumps work well.

Hello, I’m new to this channel and I’m really interested in RC Submarines. I am building one myself but I don’t know where to buy my electronics.
Thats why I wanted to know, do you sell these cylinders with all the electronics inside?
Do you have any recommendations where to buy?
