CVT in them is still garbage and I wont buy one, the only reason I let my wife is because she hardly drives and it had super low miles.
I consider myself a car enthusiast. I’ve always owned cars with RWD bias like an Infiniti G35 and Dodge Charger. However, with a stay at home wife and two children, I got my wife a top of the line pathfinder SL for the family and a Rogue for my commute across state for work. I am pleased with the flatness of the Rogue, the comfort, space, value, and excellent gas mileage. Yes, it does not accelerate like the 300 horsepower cars I’m used to but it’s smooth enough for my day to day commute. I was looking for value when I purchased this vehicle not necessarily fun. I will try to baby the CVT. I have a 2020 model so I am hoping they fixed most issues. The Pathfinder is heavier and feels more luxurious but it’s literally double in price. I am looking forward to getting as much value as I can out of this vehicle. It is larger and cheaper and better looking than a RAV4

Gas tank is trash. Not big enough, same size as a sedan but burns twice as much gas. Super basic. Just got rid of a Sentra..Nissan is trash. Glad I bought an Outlander.
I own a 2017 Nissan Rogue SV. It isn't a sports car but I think a nice v6 would fit under that hood as easy as the 4 cylinder does I think it is low on power. My mileage over the road interstate driving is about 30.5 not bad. The seats boy all seats should for the human body like these do I have never adjusted mine. The sound package was not real important but the Premium Bose is good to go. If I could only get around the personal property tax in Virginia I would buy the 2020 model.
Only thing I don’t like is the engine, on ECO mode the engine “lugs” at slower speeds. It sort of groans or growls I guess. It’s like driving a stick shift sounds like your in too high of a gear for the speed.
BEAVIS I never use the Eco seeing on my 2017 Rogue. It has no throttle response at all, like 2 cylinders have disappeared. I didn’t get any better mileage than from the standard setting anyway.
This is my 3rd Rogue and I absolutely love it. I dont think I would be happy with any other car. It is good on gas, driving a Rogue is very comfortable. I also love its style. Very classy.
Beware: Airbag light turns *ON, for no apparent reason, after 100km, it cost $150 for diagnostic and then more $$ for repair. Mine was a 2015 rogue, and the airbag recall apparently covered upto 2014 and not 2015. There are many other frustrated Nissan-rogue customers that have this same issue.
There is a Dealer accessory option to add two USB charging ports to the center console for the rear seat passengers. My '19 Rogue SL came equipped with them.
Great review! I think reviewers are too harsh when reviewing CVT transmissions. When you get used to it, it can be a lot smoother that a traditional transmission; especially in city driving. I drive a 2018 Rogue and my lease is up in a few months.....so I've been test driving all of the competitors and their transmissions are jerky when hunting for gears. I love the rugged looks of the RAV4, but I was shocked at how bad that transmission was. The Escape just seemed to be searching for the right gear at lower speeds.....same with the Equinox. I drive 90/10 city/highway miles, so I think CVT's work great with the type of driving that I do. Any incline will highlight the shortcomings of the CVT by exuding a loud groan when you make it work a bit.....but I'll take that over the whiplash jerk that the RAV4 exhibits on the same incline or intersection. I know buying a Rogue or any SUV with the CVT can be risky because of the cost to replace them, but I think all of the competitors newer 8 and 9 speed transmissions will have as many problems as the CVT's in time.
Great vid. I am currently in a 2017 Rogue SV lease about to expire. My 2017 model includes Nav, bird's eye cameras and heated seats. With a slightly bigger budget, I thought I would treat myself and went to Infiniti dealer to attempt to lease either a QX50 or QX60. To my shock, neither of these models had base options anywhere near the humble Rogue. To get navigation AND heated seats you had to go up several levels in packages with a huge price increase . I could not believe that Infiniti offers leather seats only in an upgrade package and does NOT automatically include heat option - you have to pay extra for heating leather seats? And yeah, Infiniti offers ventilated leather seats - but again, you gotta pay extra for this. In the end, even with incentives, Leasing either Infiniti model with Nav & Heated Leather seats ended up with a higher deposit requirement and a higher monthly payment compared to the well equipped Rogue. My biggest complaint about 2017 model is unimpressive seats. Yeah, engine is a bit noisy and not as powerful as Infiniti. But for me these minor issues not worth the extra money. Even though 2020 may represent end of a model series, with all them options AND Zero Gravity seats, it is probably gonna end up being my 2nd Rogue. Thanks for the great review!
Thank you! Yes the Rogue offers a lot of options that even some luxury cars don't have. Its a very nice compact suv and there is a reason why so many people buy it.
I liked this review, just a comment. When you are saying things like “it gives you much more ...than it’s rivals “, you should try to give examples of what you mean. In regards to safety features, for example, a CRV will give you lane keep, adaptive cruise, so will the Rav, but they don’t offer 360 camera or rear braking. That’s the stuff you may want to expand upon. Otherwise great review and I like how you give your opinions-such as others overstating the negative attributes of CVTS. Keep up the good work!
I HATE those ugly ass large diameter no sidewall tires. A deal breaker for me. Everyone goes nuts for these large diameter tires but when it comes time to replace them, it will cost you out the ass. No sidewall tires make it easier for your rims to be damaged when you hit something unforeseen say when driving at night. Give me a nice 16 inch with taller sidewalls every time A deal breaker for me.
The 2020 Rogue drops the Platinum Reserve Interior Package which offered the tan leather seats with quilted leather inserts, which are more comfortable than the regular leather seats in the SL.
A lot of people put the Rogue down, but we bought a 2017 and immediately camped coast to coast in it and back. In 77K miles the only casualties we had were a dead battery and needing a set of tires. Regular transmission fluid changes are they key to longevity of the CVT. Unfortunately, they can't handle a 12 point buck impact at 35 MPH.
I like the Rogue, have rented them a few times. One of my issues with it for long road trips is, it's a little narrower than the CR-V and the Cherokee. For some reason, I am sensitive to that, and it feels like a smaller space to be confined in for a long time. That's the same reason I don't like the Forester, which is even narrower. The only other complaint is it has kind of a cheap feel to the interior, and the engine/performance seems a bit weak.
I got exact same model and same color as this one. I've driven 4500 miles so far and has gone on a 2 weeks road trip to canada.. There was one issue with the censor on front glass and had to replace it other than that, it's been very good. Good fuel economy and its safety features are awesome. Recommended.
It's a great car! I have Nissan Rogue 2014 S and I've been using for 6 years now. And still runs smooth, super reliable car. I've installed Android head unit on it and I like it. If you want to check it out, watch here: ruclips.net/video/qLD7OAtU1Ic/видео.html
Going from a 2017 Rogue SL black to a 2020 SL white and I am happy as can be. Even with some of the cons, the pros totally outweigh them and I got the best deal saving me lots of money compared to the lease deals Subaru and Toyota were offering for their SUVs.
The Rogue's suspension is kind of special. If you push it down from the trunk, it feels very soft and the vehicle sinks immediately with a slight push from your fingers. But when you drive it, you kind of feel it's relatively stiff and doesn't generate a lot of body roll when you make a turn. It's kind of a combination between softness and stiffness to handle different road conditions. Also I hate the usage of the word "droning" by the critics. It's just the engine noise when you rev it up, even from a non-CVT transmission. It happens to every non-EV vehicle when you push the accelerator to the floor.
Well, CVT's have a certain whirling sound when pushed and its not good IMO. My BMW X3 with 7 speed ZF is only a 2.0 liter but does not sound/feel like that. Not even remotely so. Also has 80 HP more. Yes I know it costs ALLOT more but my point is OEMS use CVT because the upfront costs are MUCH lower but the maintenance and repair cost of CVT cost significantly more for the owner. Performance wise the CVT is garbage compared to many of the newer multi geared transmissions. ZF being one of the best IMO. Also many of Nissan's Jatco transmissions have had years of reliability issues with extended warranties and lawsuits and class actions to prove it. Much of that has been fixed but even some of recent models were still having failures. This is why Nissan has a bad reputation with many buyers now. Also know you will need to pay more to service it. Fluid changes are expensive and you need to do it every 30K miles. IMO, its just not worth saving money on the upfront costs. You definitely don't want to be owning one outside a power train warranty. Make sure you get the extended warranty.
“line trace control” is a cool feature, i like how light and nimble it makes the power steering while driving. Makes for a great smooth cruise and it can minimize body roll when cornering using the electronic brake distribution system. With it off, it seems the power steering is stiffer and feels more in touch with the road. EBD is pretty sophisticated and instantly responsive. The EBD in combination with the AWD system makes a very effective and dynamic traction and chassis control formula. Been driving a ‘15 rogue for over a year on dirt roads and new england winters and its a great small SUV 👍
@@joannfelters8198 Yeah, after I got my 2017 Rogue a few weeks ago, I'm noticing Nissans left and right. The front end is very distinctive, esp. the day time running lights shaped like an arrow. Smart thing to make the front the same across all the models.
Im conflicted on if i should get a 2020 rogue or wait for the new design next yr... I absolutely love the 2020 and im scared I wouldn’t like the new design
@@pitbullmom213 I agree. Too boxy and rugged. Current Rogue is just a great car inside and out and what a bang for the buck, the best bang for the buck imo in that class. Acceleration is a bit slow, but that can be adjusted using the sport mode. I had a black model and now getting a white model and I am excited! Love the Rogue in white!
ARMundra im getting a caspian blue SL trim, i love the white, my current pathfinder is pearl white, my titan white, and my sentra 😂 but they don’t have a white one at my dealership in that trim
I just got my 2020 Nissan Rogue sl awd yesterday. It looks really great. It has so many electronic things. Maybe too many. Certainly more than I'll ever use. I gave my 2013 Kia Sorento ER with a six cyl. I loved that car. My older son needed it for his growing family. The only really bad thing about the Rogue is that it's underpowered. Living in NYC doesnt allow me to go too fast so it won't be a problem. I expect to have many good auto years from my Nissan.
Did you buy it from a dealer who offers lifetime Powertrain warranty? Many dealers offer lifetime Powertrain warranty on Nissan Rogue. This means that you won’t never have to worry for your engine or cvt transmission.
These things things are complete shit, my wife has a 2018 platinum and it's just crap all around and it's constantly in the shop. The latest was Friday when the power lift gate decided it wanted to randomly open on the highway and she had the kids in the car. Had to get towed because as soon as you shut it opened back up. Just stick with Toyota/Honda.
Anyway, I am not an American or Canadian, but to say that Nissan should merge with Honda so that Nissan would change its name back to Datsun at the same time Nissan/Datsun too would become great again. But, prior to that, Honda would forge a tieup with Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries (where the Kawasaki bike company is part of it), and even India's Mahindra & Mahindra (which makes cars in a cheaper method) as well, as India's cost of labour is inexpensive than the rest of Europe, UK and Ireland, US, Canada, Australia, and NZ. (especially both Honda and Nissan/Datsun deeply struggle in the Indian market as India preferred to overtake China as a workshop for the rest of the globe) Thus, when Honda already forged engineering deals with Kawasaki and Mahindra, therefore Honda, so do Kawasaki (unless when Honda buys Kawasaki Heavy Industries), would take over Nissan. And in the end, Acura and Infiniti would cease to exist. Mitsubishi Motors on the other hand, would merge with utility vehicle expert Isuzu instead... (sorry for the words)
Lol.. well I guess it's okay it's alright it's not great but it's alright it looks fine that's not beautiful but it looks okay... not the greatest vehicle I've seen but it's okay...lol..
This is verry nice but a lill under powered id think..that comming from a 2006 murano owner..once ur used to the awesome power or that 3.5 ltr v6 this would feel somewhat sloppy for me power wise..but would i buy one ?..hell yeah i would 👍😉
In comparison with my 2023 Subaru forester Premium, my wife's 2020 Nissan Rogue SLawd feels like in the escape pod. It is horrible! The seats were designed for very short people. If you adjust them higher they move forward to an amazing extreme, removing any legroom. I should add, in the interest of fairness, that I'm 6'1" tall, and I'm built like a spider (all legs). I'll concede the luggage arrangement is excellent, the flat-bottom steering wheel helps what ever legroom the car does have! The sunroof is better than my Subaru's sunroof. The window's are like the slits in a tank, adding to the claustrophobic feel of the car. Also, the car's forward-facing mirror is great for parking. I like the placement of the coolant temperature, which is directly in front of the driver, instead of in the information pod on top of the dash.
I have a Serra Nissan 2017 Rogue. bought it in 2018 brand new for a year and my first week of driving it the brake system gave me problems. Later the roof leaked. Steering wheel makes noises lol windows make noise when letting down or up. Smoke came out of gas entrance. Oil Leak in engine. Smoke comes from exhaustion pipe. Glad to hear about new and improved rogues.paid 27,000. So disappointed.
Aint even let the video load or watch it just wanted to say Nissan and the CVT transmission are fucking terrible and to stay away from them if your able to...to each they’re own though
Everytime I rent an SUV, I always make sure we get a rogue. That’s how much I like them! And I drove just about all models; S, SV, & SL. Even the redesign one the SV w/leather and sunroof. Great vehicles! That’s why you see so many of ‘em on the road. I’m thinking about getting a use 2020 SV w/sun & sound package. (If I find a orange one I’m in). Best SUV for us.😌👍🏾
I own one, Interior door fake Carbon fiber incomplete, has over the handle, but missing the horizontal ones over the window switches, all 4 doors look naked from the inside, Chinese guys have it, but pattern doesn't match, and European version doesn't have lock/unlock on front passenger side. Nissan built nissan rogue like shits , I have one 2017 it so so bad , engine so weak, cvt transmission so bad it tear down after 30000 miles , nissan cars are junk cars, do not wast money for nissan cars.
Everywhere i go people say nissan makes checp, unreliable vehicles...plus their transmissions fail frequently. I keep wondering why the nissan rogue sells so cheap in my country and it only adds to my suspicions.
I bought a 2016 back in February. The dealer called me yesterday to let me know they may be able to get me into a newer one with a lower interest rate due to the pandemic.
Nissan transmission suck. Engine weak. Not that smooth. Engine run like Old car. Cant compare with Toyota or Honda. My wife 2020 rogue SV. Her dad brought for her. Drive suck. Cant compare with 2020 Rav4 Hybrid or 2020 Crv hybrid. Transmission smoother and better gas so much. If u really want Nissan rogue. Please! Please go test drive first. Then go test Honda crv hybrid and Toyota rav4 hybrid. Before u decided which one u like. I recommend to everyone. If not u buy the wrong car... fk up.
Maybe this is the last Nissan... never never buy again. Her dad paid this car $36.4k otd. I drove every morning. When i slow down under 20mph-10mph below. Transmission got sounds. Like the gears loose... I recommend dont buy nissan family cars. only nice and fast car is Nissan GT-R race car.
I went with the RAV4 haha But yes the Nissan Rogue was a really nice car all the Bells and whistles who knows mite drive this car for a while switch lol we will see great vid by the way thank you

Your details are impeccable, good Job. I have a 2018 Modell..European Spec and i would say....I JUST LUVVVVVV it
Thanks for the feedback and the support :).
Just got mine today!! Love it!
i am a gm car guy...i am buying a 2018 rogue they are well made an i just love them ,,,yes the cvt is its weak spot but change the oil an it will last
I HATE those ugly ass large diameter no sidewall tires.
Exactly 💯🙏
i have a 2020 rogue and i love it
The 2020 Rogue drops the Platinum Reserve Interior Package which offered the tan leather seats with quilted leather inserts, which are more comfortable than the regular leather seats in the SL.
A lot of people put the Rogue down, but we bought a 2017 and immediately camped coast to coast in it and back. In 77K miles the only casualties we had were a dead battery and needing a set of tires. Regular transmission fluid changes are they key to longevity of the CVT. Unfortunately, they can't handle a 12 point buck impact at 35 MPH.
does the 2020 rogue have a digital speedometer on the dashboard?
No, sorry
Unfortunately no. However, the Newly Designed 2021 Rogue Will have the Digital Speedometer.
Nice, thanks for the feedback!
I can't wait for you to make a video on a new redesign Nissan Frontier when it comes out,, thank you for this well done Review!!
Thanks! I can't wait either.
Thanks for the input!
Agree fully with this comment. I own a brand new 2019 X-Trail ST-L 4WD (Australian nameplate for same car) and agree entirely with your comments...
@@HiPlains1 its every 60k miles not every 30k miles. I have a 2016 Altima with the the cvt with 225k miles and I change the cvt fluid every 60k miles
The front of nissan is been the same forever they need a change
Its called brand recognition
I love it. As AYates stated, it is brand recognition. I absolutely know when I see a Nissan.
@@joannfelters8198 Yeah, after I got my 2017 Rogue a few weeks ago, I'm noticing Nissans left and right. The front end is very distinctive, esp. the day time running lights shaped like an arrow. Smart thing to make the front the same across all the models.
Dazlidorne Jenkins Like the triangular headlights on the Murano and Maxima for example
Stronger than ever? It’s the same powertrain since 2009.
I don't know... I liked this CVT transmission a lot, no problem whatsoever.
I have a 2019 SV Rouge and love it, it looks identical to the 2020 version.
the haven’t truly changed much, i just got a 2015 sl and it looks nearly identical
3 years ago today! Trying to buy one dude.
How about a comparison to the Mazda CX5?
Soon!
Wow so nice 😍 I have Nissan Murano 2009 I want to trade in to rouge sport 2020 love Nissan
Everything you said about the cvt and critics, I agree with you 100%. Its a really good crossover
Looks like a 2015 Nissan Rogue just new interior
And a lot more safety and convenience features.
Im conflicted on if i should get a 2020 rogue or wait for the new design next yr... I absolutely love the 2020 and im scared I wouldn’t like the new design
I am about to lease a 2020 after my 2017 lease ends. I love the current look. Very handsome car. The 2021 from will look more like the Rav4.
ARMundra oh i hate the newer rav 4s! We had a 2010 that was great but the newer models 👎
@@pitbullmom213you won't go wrong with blue either. Beautiful color. Where do you live?
I just got my 2020 Nissan Rogue sl awd yesterday. It looks really great. It has so many electronic things. Maybe too many. Certainly more than I'll ever use. I gave my 2013 Kia Sorento ER with a six cyl. I loved that car. My older son needed it for his growing family. The only really bad thing about the Rogue is that it's underpowered. Living in NYC doesnt allow me to go too fast so it won't be a problem. I expect to have many good auto years from my Nissan.
Nice! The Rogue is one of the best selling compact SUVs for a reason. I was impressed with it after my review.
Did you buy it from a dealer who offers lifetime Powertrain warranty? Many dealers offer lifetime Powertrain warranty on Nissan Rogue. This means that you won’t never have to worry for your engine or cvt transmission.
How does it do on the highway on the long trips?
I agree. Love the comfortable ride and great seats. So many features included, a big bang for the buck.
Theres no platinum trim bud..
@@Jose-bh2fn you might want to Google bud
@@giovanni4304 nope theres only s, sv and sl. The only one that has a platinum trim is the pathfinder...

Have a 2015 Nissan Rogue and I can attest how amazing it is... whenever I need a new vehicle I wouldn’t mind getting a new Rogue... love them
Just purchased today Nissan Rogue 2020🥰 I had a 2009 ford escape! I love it !!!
(especially both Honda and Nissan/Datsun deeply struggle in the Indian market as India preferred to overtake China as a workshop for the rest of the globe)
Thus, when Honda already forged engineering deals with Kawasaki and Mahindra, therefore Honda, so do Kawasaki (unless when Honda buys Kawasaki Heavy Industries), would take over Nissan. And in the end, Acura and Infiniti would cease to exist.
Mitsubishi Motors on the other hand, would merge with utility vehicle expert Isuzu instead... (sorry for the words)
Still good first used Nissan Rogue I can buy.
I got the 2014 SL and it still pretty.
Good presenter…..but I hear a lot of tire noise.
Nissan cars will be very good if they have a direct shift AT. Nissan needs to discontinue the CVTs AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
180,000 miles and still going so that proves u don’t know what you are talking about
David Pelzel what year?
Lol.. well I guess it's okay it's alright it's not great but it's alright it looks fine that's not beautiful but it looks okay... not the greatest vehicle I've seen but it's okay...lol..
this is x-trail only in USA say rojue
VERY NICE LOVE IT CANT TO BYE ONESOON
Thinking of replacing my wife's 2012 dodge grand caravan with a 2019 or 2020 Rogue!
Aint even let the video load or watch it just wanted to say Nissan and the CVT transmission are fucking terrible and to stay away from them if your able to...to each they’re own though
2021 rogue will be redesigned. I'm going to skip this one
Best SUV for us.😌👍🏾
which is the best car for long term use i have 3 options rouge,crv,rav4 . i am 6ft 110 kg so which is the largest space inside
I own one, Interior door fake Carbon fiber incomplete, has over the handle, but missing the horizontal ones over the window switches, all 4 doors look naked from the inside, Chinese guys have it, but pattern doesn't match, and European version doesn't have lock/unlock on front passenger side. Nissan-bored designers
Nissan built nissan rogue like shits , I have one 2017 it so so bad , engine so weak, cvt transmission so bad it tear down after 30000 miles , nissan cars are junk cars, do not wast money for nissan cars.
If you ask me it is better looking than the recently redesigned crv or rav 4!!
Totally agree. Beautiful suv
Good info....will be getting a 2020 Rogue SV so this helps a lot
You didn’t mention the fog lights on the SL model!!!!
Stay away from this vehicle, it suddenly stop without any reason. Save your family!
Great Nissan.
They rent me a Nissan Rogue 20 but I have found the buttons to open the trunk is there other way one the trunk ?
I love rouge but it's not good when you have 3 kids and a dog so pathfinder or quest would be good
Nissan transmission suck.
