The best thing about this car is that you can get it 10k cheaper than it's competitors like Toyota Rav4, its super safe, spacious, amazing mileage for a 2.5 engine, really good bose audio system if you get the SL version, overall this SUV is nothing special but gets the job done in all aspects! This is a very good car to purchase if you are looking for comfort at the cheapest price and regarginf CVT failures, since 2017, they stopped getting damaged if you replace oil every 30k miles.
I don't care if it's a gimmick or not, do not get rid of the BFB test!! It might only be issue number 348 of all the issues I look for when buying a car, but still.
I own two Rogues, a ‘19 and a ‘13, and they are fine. The older one has been far more reliable, but I have no major gripes with either. They are cars. They do what cars are supposed to do, and that’s all I can really ask of them.
In Europe the Rogue is sold under the name X-Trail. The 2020 model is available in manual, CVT and a 7-speed DCT. I have the DCT and it's been a very good car.
Honest review you try to be nice but reveal your true feelings near the end. That perspective at the end was nice to hear as well - we are lucky to live an era where even the worst cars are not all that bad. I will say though my friend has one of these it's pretty terrible. The CVT is a true roll of the dice - a loaded pair of dice.
Just purchased a 2020 Rogue. My last Rogue 2016 needed a new transmission and was 17,000 miles over the class action law suit warranty extension. The dealership absorbed my upside down note and gave me a fair deal on this model. Hopefully, this model lasts through payments.
@@bumblebeeisfree I had said that because I’m always hearing that’s the most common issue with the rogue my 16 had 160,000 mile and the 2021 had 57,000miles both very good vehicles
The Altima of SUVs. It's common to see these zooming through traffic and just as common to hear about one blowing up its transmission. It's adequate and looks decent and it's better than some $1000 beater. One annoyance of these is their overly bright daytime running lights. They light up just enough road at night that the driver thinks their headlights are on when the headlights and taillights aren't actually on. The driver can't see, the DRLs are throwing light into oncoming drivers' eyes, and all other angles of the car are dark.
Please when you do future reviews please show the spare tire. We want to know if the vehicle has one first of all, and second we want to know where it is located so we know if it is in or under the vehicle, because to many people it does matter. Some will not buy a vehicle that only has a can of fix a flat.Thankyou.
2018 rogue sport. Serviced at Nissan every service. Including transmission. Trans died at exactly 80k. There all garbage. It feels like driving a squishy potato. I’d rather own and drive a Saturn.
@Jonathan-mp7xg Read ANY of the articles by ANY long term reviewers of Nissan vehicles. Have you heard of Big Altima Energy? It has some truth behind it. I'm also a mechanic and I've had to witness more Nissan CVT replacements than any other brand. Most people end up junking them and buying another vehicle.
@Jonathan-mp7xg "I live in reality" and "this isn't an Altima so it's excluded in all problems" is not reality 🤣 you're a true piece of work. You've probably also never opened the hood of a car.
I hope those who own a Rogue are very happy with their vehicle. I don't understand those owners, but good on them for being content with such a vehicle.
It's for people who prefer low price over high quality. Apparently the 2.5L engine makes the whole car shake at idle, yet this is considered normal -- just google "Rogue/X-Trail rough idle". Nissan just couldn't be bothered to make the engine smoother and thought "that seems fine"!
good info...I didn't kno w the difference between the Rogue and Rogue Sport and almost got the Sport until I saw how small it was (I'm 6ft). I am also a photographer so having space to hide equipment is nice
I had an almost identical 19 Rogue as a rental in Florida a couple years ago, and I can't remember a more mediocre car in recent memory. Nothing was offensively bad by itself but as a whole package it left me very underwhelmed. The steering was very light and had literally no feel, the brake pedal was way over boosted to where it basically felt like an on/off switch, the acceleration was sad, the interior materials and ergonomics were bad, the infotainment screen was dim and hard to see, and the seats were uncomfortable. That being said, it was a cheap rental, it got decent gas mileage, and it held all of our vacation luggage with no issues. All in all it was a car, but I don't really understand why people buy these over the competition.
Thank you for this video! It would be nice to hear in depth about the bubble Ivón next to the drive modes or the upper rail system in the cargo. It’s a solid car for sure. We just got one barely driven but I do see your point about cvt
At the end of the day, it's still a throw away boring appliances of a crossover for the non-car people in the US. You all got what you've been asking for that they gave you. That we never have gotten the cool cars in the US, always crossovers we see on the streets because people don't wanna or take the fun away of driving and not appreciative of what giving from overseas.
The Rouge is constantly rated as one of the very worst SUV EVER made. Besides the horrible self destructive Jacto CVT, the overall Renault quality,. low mpg, and all the electrion gremlins! Buy. Toyota ,a used one will last for decades!
I think the CX-5 is the better car. You're probably only going to get better fuel economy in the Rogue because if its CVT vs the CX-5's 6 speed automatic transmission.
@damilolaakanni She says the CX-5 is just so slow. Don't know if the Rougue would be faster. And the interior is pretty bad in her opinion. But she needed a car and didn't have time to be picky. She couldn't find a Rouge. I'm sure she would maybe like the newer CX-5s. Hers really isn't all that great looking in my opinion. It's 2014 before Mazda started offering better products.
These are trash, just like essentially every other Nissan made for the past 15 years, aside from the heavy duty trucks. Aside from being cheaply built, like every other Nissan, they have a time-bomb CVT that will last about 100k miles if taken care of meticulously and never driven hard.

Hey I’m buying one is it any good?
I love my 2023 Nissan rogue and I loved my 2016 and 2021 versions my 2016 had over 160 on the first transmission
Just the fact that you have to mention how many miles your tranny lasted on and not the life of the car is definitely not concerning.
