Awesome video as always my friend. I have a 77mm ND for my 28-300 lens. And I just got step up rings for my 55mm canon M50 11-22mm lens yesterday. The ND i have is variable 7 stop.
Perfect.. . You have great set up there. I have pretty much the same thing. 2 sizes of ND and step up ring. I didn't buy the most expensive filters, just cheap ones but they work great and do the job. Have an awesome weekeñd. 👌📷📽🌞

In Definatley interested in ordering however I’m not sure what size I need for my variable filter.. here are the lenses I have currently any help would be appreciated. I just want to make sure I buy the right stuff so I can film immediately on a project.
1. efs 55-250
2. Sigma lenses 10-20 mm
3. Lenses 18-55 mm
I am so I don’t know… check what filters are needed for these lenses…. All in manual

Hello there... your videos are very very helpful. In fact your video inspired me to get Canon M50.
Now that I am using one for last more than six months, one problem that I encountered and could not find a solution myself, hence asking here. Problem is on M50 how to check which part of photo is getting focus. I usually shoot using view finder and when taking portraits, I sometimes find that the object behind or front has accidentally got in focus instead of main object. I realise this only when I get photo downloaded on my Mac. Is there a simple trick to find it right on camera?
Thank you very much for your comment on support. Use single out of focus. Half press the shutter button, focus on what you need to be sharp and then re-compost the shot .... then fully press the button.

Whats everyone's thoughts on a simple UV filter? Back in the olden days I used them to protect the lens only. After a day in the rough UK weather at the coast I have spent the afternoon getting salt off everything. Got me thinking.

Hello, i am bit late to this video. Thank you this is very helpful. One question : at 2:15 where one side of your shirt is extremely bright, maybe highlights blown? Would you correct this in a photo? I have a photo that i took and similarly the bright sunlight blowsout on side of the shirt for one person and for another, the sun is very bright on one side of her face. I am a begginner in photography and editing. I shoot with a fuji xt-1 and classic manual lenses and processing with capture one.
You have to simply underexpose the photo and then even it out in post

You can use CPL filter with any lens... 😊📱📽📷📹

You will need to look at your lens from the front like the lens of taking photo of you... you should see a numer with mm or diameter sign. That is the size you need

You are very welcome. As far as monetizing goes... you will know if the channel is monetized if you see commercials running before the videos. I do have some videos monetized, some not by my choice. The ads are really not making much money to be very honest. It covers the expenses I have with the channel... not really any revenue...I would have to have huge channel to be able to earn income which would pay bills... .lol... Have a fantastic weekend! 🌞📸📽

What's up photography mom ???? I prefer B+W brand filters, but my Canon C300 has ND filters built into the camera, so I only keep a UV filter in front of the lens for protection. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the entire 2 commercials that preceded your video...... you're welcome :)

Yes they all run 2 commercials up front now it seems. I watch videos where i want commercials to run on my laptop, on others i watch on Iphone with Adblocker.

The size of the filter is always written on the front of the lens

This topic is for very long discussion... to be honest. I would say get one long telephoto lens, portrait lens and wide angle... but it all depends on what you are shooting. I will make a video about that... Have a great weekend.

Using nd filter to get that dark cinematic for indoor video do i increase the iso since no sunlight is Indoor
You don't need to use VND indoors.. it is only for outdoors to block excessive light... just keep ISO to 100 indoors...

You didn't mention what ISO you were using. That also makes difference.
ISO is always 100 outdoors on bright day

OK, first of all look at the front of the lens like the lens is taking photo of you... there should be number.. that number means the size of filter you need. I honestly don't recommend going with cheap. I am about ready to toss cheap filters away and I'll explain very soon in one of the videos why. Just getting ready for the script...... Look at Freewell filters if they have your size of filter. It is not cheap but you won't regret it and never will have to buy another filter again.

very good vid!! I have a quick question. I just bought an M50 with the kit lens. I';m also going to purchase the 22mm F2.0 canon EFM prime lens. Would the same ND filter work on both the kit and prime lenses?
Do you have to check the lens and see in the front of the number it says. There should be right in diameter of the filters directly on the lens
imo variable are poor quality if buying under $150.
best to get cheap kit of fixed filters, no more X and other problems.
my tip, buy fixed and purposely use step up ring so you dont have to connect cheap filters directly to your lense, if it cross-threads or gets stuck, you only lose your step up ring.
Absolutely agreed. If you have expensive glass don’t buy cheap filters
