    The knob you refer to as a tightening knob for the bare bulb attachment, is not for securing the bare bulb, but for securing certain light modifiers.....

      I've got a few people that regularly thumb down as soon as I release anything. I think it is something personal for them, either because they don't like me or my faith. At the end of the day I'm pretty fortunate - most all of my videos have a 95%+ approval rating. I'm still an "A" student despite the trolls. ;)

    The screw on the side of the bare bulb head is not to tighten the bulb, but to tighten the modifiers that attach directly to the head (soft boxes, reflectors, beauty dish etc.)

    • @DustinAbbottTWI

    Correction for you on the upgrade list of the new Pro vs the Original. I have been using the AD200 with my Panasonic and Olympus M4/3 for almost 2 years and the TTL works just fine. Also for Pentax and Fuji, it is built into the flash and will shoot TTL as long as you have a TTL transmitter.

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  5 лет назад +1

      I’m taking that information off their website.

    • @specfoto3202
      @specfoto3202 5 лет назад +2

      Jim Watkins-I figured as much and that is why I sent in the correction. Don’t know why Godox has never updated the spec sheet on the AD 200, but if you look at Flash Havoc’s Flashpoint announcement dated Jan 5, 2017, link below 2nd paragraph, you will see that all 6 brands are mentioned as being built into the flash body
      flashhavoc.com/godox-ad200-witstro-announced/
      I have been shooting with Godox Wistro flash for 6 years now and during 2016 they announced they would finally bring other camera brands control besides Canon and Nikon to their flash units. My original AD360 TTL units that worked for Nikon only now also work with my Sony and Olympus/Panasonic gear thru a firmware update sometime back in 2017. Godox’s first TTL transmitter the XT-1 and in early 2017 they released a Oly/Panasonic unit that worked right off the bat with my AD200 and AD360’s. Later that year I bought the X-Pro Oly/Panasonic unit as I like that design better and then A Sony version when I started up with Sony late last year. All in all, the Godox is a great system that will work with multiple transmitters and camera brands. Also have the V860’s speedlite type flash and all 3 brands of the camera specific transmitters will fire it.

    • @AbbasBinYounas
      @AbbasBinYounas 5 лет назад

      @@specfoto3202 I think you're right. Sometime during 2017, they released firmware updates which enabled their Wistro series lights (with 2.4GHz wireless) to fully function (HSS, TTL) across all major platforms, as long as you have the correct system specific trigger.
      I've checked this on my AD600. As soon as I change the trigger from say X1T C to X1T O/N, the display on the light shows the same C/O/N etc and the HSS/TTL keeps working flawlessly...

    • @mike_MKvipPhoto

      ATG gave many photographers choices, but ATG suggests if you travel overseas without having battery carry on problems is to go with ATG Gold/Nissin MG10 Set.
      ATG/Nissin MG10 has bracket for solo shooting or with radio remote camera shutter trigger
      ATG/Godox AD200 (noticed "A") can not zoom
      ATG/Jinbei/Rollei/Orlit is big but has power
      ATG/Nissin MG10 has radio flash zoom while many strobes/monolights can not do or have.
      If you once used the Quantum QFlash series or Metz 60CT-4 than you knew they were made by ATG.
      But then again, many photographers didn't know ATG but they knew they were made for working pros.

      @@DustinAbbottTWI I knew that Metz was smart by still having the ATG Auto2 mode on the Metz 64AF-1.
      The ATG Auto2 goes way back when ATG friend was selling flashes in his car's trunk.
      Did you ever used the Vivitar 283, 285 & 285HV?
      The Metz 64AF-1 is a nice flash but it died just like the ATG's Nissin MG8000 Extreme due to prices.
      Today shooters only want cheap flashes but want to shoot HSS, then wonder why it shutdown or gets underexposed images.
      I hope you can do a review on ATG's Nissin MG10 or MG80Pro flashes.
      But then again, due to priced many shooters will buy.
      And ATG & Nissin will not pay reviewers.
      FYI: ATG Gold 60CT-4r or Metz 60CT-4 is now replaced by ATG/Nissin MG10 Set.
      And the hotshoe mount is called MG80Pro.
      No overheat
      No shutdown

      I'm a fan of these Godox flashes for value. That being said, the Canon is a traditional strobe that can be used mounted on the camera, while the Godox can only be used as a slave (off camera). Is that a factor for you?

    Dustin, Do you recommend pairing this with the V1 round head flash or would 2 AD200's be better for portability/location shoots? I like the size of this unit, have been using my 580 Ex with my 430EXII, but the older flash is limited with my 2 flash setup and I like the price point the V1 is at and I want wireless that's radio not optical based. Is the V860 II C a good pair with the AD200 pro? thanks again for all your info and opinions!

    • @DustinAbbottTWI

      I see no reason why you couldn't pair a V1 and use them both to their strengths. It's easy to control output via something like the X-Pro.

      @@DustinAbbottTWI True, but it is a much better solution to get two AD200 or AD200 Pro, then you'll be able to put them in the AD-B2 with Bowens mount and get in essence a 400W flash if you need it.

    The big negative on Godox is firmware updates. They don't provide the capability to do firmware updates on a Mac. Suposedly you can on a windows computer however that doesn't work either.

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  5 лет назад

      The products that I've reviewed thus far haven't needed/had firmware updates yet, so I can't comment on that. I'm somewhat skeptical that firmware updates don't work on either platform, though, as they are on firmware revision 3 on many products. That wouldn't happen if updates couldn't be done properly.

    Dustin Abbott, this is one of the world best selling from ATG/Godox after the successful ATG/Quantum QFlash and ATG/Metz 60CT-4 flashes.
    Foolish shooters rather buy overpriced Profoto A1 then have to add $500.00 more for the transmitter.
    Or think that Canon 600EX II-RT, Nikon SB-5000, Sony HVL-60M have the power.
    When ATG departed from Quantum & Metz, both companies couldn't make anything good just like Pocket Wizard.
    Sales of Pocket Wizard, Profoto, Canon/Nikon/Sony/Olympus/Panasonic/Fuji flashes have plumped.
    ATG Gold is the only transmitter that will have ATG AF Assist Beam for Sony A&E mounts.
    Price of it surly show in the high $900.00+
    Another good reviews, Dustin Abbott.
