- Creating your very own template in Unreal Engine can help you save hours!
In this quick tutorial I'm going to show you how to set up your own template.
I'm also going to talk about whats in my own template and how it helped me become a better artist.

MOUNTAIN SHADER TUTORIAL PLEASE 🙏 I really struggle with getting something custom and good looking, quickly... and your setup looks like magic.
YES LMFAOO
yes, wishing someone said this a year ago. Glad i am seeing it now. Best practices make all the difference in life.
mater shaders are too clean! very helpful template set up!
😄😁
Finally! An Unreal user on MacOs! Thats as rare as finding a live Mammoth...
I freaking need this tutorial on the smart materials. Nice work, keep it up!
man i love your channel, no bullshit no talk about extra stuff, straight to the point . thank you and keep them coming:D
Your intro described everything i have been doing for years. Get so stuck in the grind, i ended up delaying this for years. Finaly doing this now. Thanks for the tutorial.
Time you get a comment) Hope your channel grows!
Thanks :)
Loving the format of all of this, great work!! Really excited to learn more from you, cheers !!
Great tutorials, Thanks for sharing these techniques...and yes , I would love to see how you setup custom shaders! thanks!
Just discovered your channel - and already you provided a bunch of great tips - I was thinking about making my own template for archviz projects to save time and cut all the migrating, plugin enabling, settings changing bs I had to go through every time I start - now, time to take care of it finaly ;)
Very great tutorial, Thank you
amigo tus tutoriales son increíbles, llevo viéndolos todo el dia, muchas gracias
so glad I found your channel!
@3:50 It really helped me and the exact same thing happened to me where I just backed off from rendering!
Thank you!!!
amazing channel -
thank you, very useful keep and enjoyable to watch tutorial
awesome!!!
Templates are great!
Great channel. Would love a tutorial on a landscape material.
Thanks
我刚刚在你的另一个视频中找到了这座山的材料,谢谢你的分享!😄
Interested in how you setup the mountain shader
Very useful stuff!. I wonder if you would make something probably usable turning it all not just a template but a an asset pack to simply add in the content. usually I've got to add third person and vehicles packs. I've tried to find out how to do it myself but failed miserably!
Hi, thanks for the amizng content as usual, I just had a question:How would I just create a "games project" with just 1 blank level? Whenever I open a "blank" games project it has the default landscape. I know I can create a new level inside the project to make it actually blank but then the previous landscape level would still exist inside my project making it heavier. I've also tried deleting the landscape in the dfault level but I am unable to delte the world partition mini map and hlod
Thanks in advance for your help ;)
Absolutely Fantastic tutorial and an amazing workflow tip, thank you, But I am having a little trouble with the photoshop bit, I have photoshop 2023 but struggling to understand this small part of the tutorial right at the end of this, any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.
I cant figure out why its not working for me. Any tips are welcomed.
Hey thanks for that !! It works great ! Would you happen to know why the animation of the legs of the metahuman are the only thing not properly transferred/copied ? If I create a new project the animation of the legs isn't working anymore. I replaced Manny with a metahuman, that's the only part that does not seem to love template-ting :)
Sorry, I have absolutely no clue 😔
Thanks for this how do you deal with converting your template to the new version? Do you just simply convert it? I find a lot of the time we get issues when doing it that way.
Yes, I just converted it. So far, no issues but setting up a new file once or twice a year and reevaluate what assets you actually need might be a good idea as well.
I would love to see how you do your custom shaders (materials). I totally struggle with this problem of doing things over again and not sure how to copy over things like landscape layers. Can I ask what you do with your art?
I'm working on that tutorial. The shader is quite complex and absolutely not perfect but I think about making it available for everyone to download. Just have to find time to make example textures that I can legally share.
Oh and I'm using Unreal and Blender for Filmmaking. Mainly to create environments to use as digital sets.
Is it possible to have different projects read the same asset directory? What I mean is, for example when I use Megascan, I will have different instances of the same asset in each projects directories since UE copies it everytime. And in the long run it will fill my storage as Megascan assets are pretty heavy especially when using Nanite.
Not that I know... But if you find a solution, please let me know!
🥰
I would imagine you can still go back to that template file to add or remove stuff. Right?
Absolutely!
Would love to download some of your files, would you mind putting them on Gumroad?
Most assets I use are available online for free. Which ones do you mean exactly?
@@NicoLinde I think the whole project/composition is interesting. Most people know how to download assets, but placing them right, or lighting them correct is something you see extremely good at. Very keen to look into the hood of that project!
@@FirstArtChannel Sadly the license agreement of the assets I use do not allow me to share the whole project. But I plan to make Complete scenes available in the future!
@@NicoLinde Just found your channel and after seeing this video I thought I would also love to have a template which would allow me to just drag n drop assets without downloading anything.
😂thanks dude@
😩 'promo sm'
Just copy the project folder somewhere, open project from there, done. Why all this in the video I have no idea.
