Hi! I want to buy this course. But I cant find more information about this. For example: what is the method you use for inventory? I mean it structure or anothet something?
This is perfect. RTS game dev courses and the like are so difficult to come across these days. Even more so now as the genre is sadly not nearly as huge as it used to be. Not to mention there's very few game engines that are dedicated to RTS design that's open source. So to have this template (a free one at that) released to us is truly a blessing! I'd like to delve into RTS game development myself soon!
Well UNF does have a beginner Tutorial on making an RTS game in Unreal 5. ruclips.net/video/CCO0-64cfe4/видео.html. I have been through it, (A whole 11 hours at easy pace) using my own modern combat units model assets.
This template is really cool! I believe the community would be interested in a course on creating a game with this style of gameplay, whether it's multiplayer or single player. With procedural maps, it would be even better. Certainly, it would be a course that I wouldn't hesitate to buy, considering that there are few resources available on this type of project, and the existing ones are quite limited. As a student of your survival course, I am confident that the quality of your course would be excellent, just like it is now.
I really need to know are the materials he provide in his course worth the price? It’s quite a lot for me so before I make a choice I wanna hear your side. How much have you learned and do you see yourself abstracting info that he teaches to your own games to make?
@@danishadnan8316 I completely understand your concern about the course's price. However, I can assure you that the materials provided in the course are truly valuable. I learned a lot from it. I have 4 years of experience with Unreal, and even though I'm currently more focused on C++, the blueprint course helped me correct many mistakes I made based on other courses I took. My recommendation, which I believe the course instructor would agree with, is for you to challenge yourself and not replicate everything exactly as he does. It's essential to grasp each concept taught but also to create things in your own way. For instance, I'm using the course to develop an RPG instead of a Survival FPS, but I still apply some survival mechanics to certain aspects of my project, and it has been very successful. However, I must emphasize that I have some experience, so if you have less experience, it might be beneficial to follow the course instructions initially and, as you better understand the logic, recreate things more customized to your preferences. In summary: I would buy the course again, and if he offered a real-time strategy game course, I would happily pay the same amount again, even though my budget is limited. PS: I'm sorry for the long text, and I hope I have helped.
@@danishadnan8316is you get the course now in early access is crazy good. there’s an entire discord that can help you with each lesson as well. I’ve learned the most from this course than others.
Can you add more stuff from Ark into the survival game course eventually? Bosses that need special items. Taming and riding certain creatures with certain saddle needs like no saddle or their own saddle. Cutscenes for starting the map along with beating the map. Game settings for stuff like xp, gathering amount, and other stuff. Map selection. Character creation like Ark. Explorer notes. Etc. Basically Ark but not Ark because of copyright!
I plan to add bonus content after I finish the course. (currently I'm on chapter 19 out of 20) so about 2 more chapters till it's finished, but likewise I am planning on adding bonus content and im open to suggestions! taming and riding system would be cool, and also different dinos like flyers etc. Now that you mention boss stuff like artifacts, it got me thinking about creating caves on the map etc.
@@SmartPolySounds great! A good update name would be “Taming and Lore Update!” But still character customization would help express and identify other players along with the name tags. Different maps for paid and free dlc(s) along with settings for the server/single play saves. Anyways the course will be even more amazing!
Thank you man! I've been using this for a little bit, but I'm getting stumped on a single part, how do you modify the resource table enum? Somewhat new to unreal engine, and can't figure out how to do it...
Hey guys, is it possible to use this template with VR? i have Quest2 and even if i import plugins and have a pawn i cant run it in VR mode. Is that even possible? Thanks a lot.
This template is sparkling my interests. It show things very useful in various games type. Saving system, behaviour tree and more. I can't wait to jump in it to learn the correct way of doing things. 😊
@@ztormsink5931 If you pay attention to how the blueprints are structured, once you know where the calls start, you can build functions or variables and call them correctly anywhere in the project! Imagine it this way; There are some buildings and you just need to know the addresses of these buildings and what's inside! The main blueprints of the engine are; Game Instance and Player Controller and Player Character But anyway, there are plenty of tutorials on the net that teach you a lot, you'll soon get the hang of it!

Thats actually really nice, I hope Epic Games starts making more of these game sample projects
You should do a tutorial on customizing this project for our own use.

An RTS sample project would have been a great opportunity to showcase ECS (MassAI). Oh well.
