  • On request a test of a strategy offering a 100% success rate.
    The strategy first identifies a possible trend based on Stochastic overbought and oversold levels. Then uses RSI levels to confirm the trend and finally trades on a cross of the MACD and MACD signal lines.
    When the expert used is available for download from the MT5 and MT4 markets there will be a link on the web page.

    I have now added the MT4 version of the expert to the MQL market along with the MT5 version. To pass the tests I had to increase the default volume on MT4 to 1 lot so be careful. There is a link on the web page to both the MT5 and MT4 versions on the market.

    I've written thousands of EAs over the years and MOST have equity curves like the ones shown here. It really is amazing how hard it is to cobble together various indicators that produce profitable trades consistently.

    • @jesseliverless9811
      @jesseliverless9811 Год назад +1

      Same here. I've coded so many strategies, either found here on RUclips or on forums and such, and not MOST but ALL have a similar equity curve. Given enough instruments (at least all the majors, but essentially the 28 pairs), and given a long enough backtest period, they ALL fail. You might have a winnig pair here and there, on a particular timeframe, for some time. But over a large sample size, it just slowly slopes down.

      @@jesseliverless9811 Both of you have spent a large amount of time on this topic, so let me ask more about your experience. You will probably agree it is nearly impossible that an EA will perform consistently 24/5, meaning all 3 sessions (Asia/NY/EU) due to them being so different in behavior. Have you tried basing a strategy on only one session or not even a full session, focusing on when the strategy is most likely to be successful? If you are in the Orchard discord I would love to discuss more ideas.

    • @anypuppet
      @anypuppet Год назад +2

      Exactly. The explanation is probably because markets are driven by fundamentals and technical analysis simply showing the results. It’s like trying to drive by looking at the rear mirror.

    • @jafxtradinginstitute6395
      @jafxtradinginstitute6395 Год назад

      Writing EAs base on idea Is your down fall rather than a trading plan with a strategy.
      Coding an EA you need a strategy
      You need a higher timeframe for reversal
      You need a middle timeframe for trend
      You need a lower timeframe for entry .
      Indicators follow price . You need entry base on pullback not breakout.
      Plus coding an EA you must fully understand mt4 or mt5 coding language then apply your trading knowledge. If you can't trade then your EA will be where your knowledge at.

    • @jesseliverless9811
      @jesseliverless9811 Год назад

      Yeah, it's been done thousands of times, and each time it shows that it doesn't work. You can't take a losing strategy that essentially has random entries (as the strategy in this video), and make it a winning strategy by reversing it.
      Turns out, a random entry on the short side that has no edge, also has no edge on the long side.

    Can you make a tutorial of indicator levels. For example if i wanted a bot to make entries when the EmA 5 and EMA 10 cross below RSI level 30 and also when they cross above RSI level 80.. I.e I have a strategy that uses RSI levels 15 as oversold and level 80 as overbought. In this strategy , no need for the RSI line.. only the levels need. So to confirm a Sell , EMA 5 cross below EMA 10 above RSI level 80 . and for Buy , EMA 5 crosses above EMA 10 below RSI level 15.

    An issue I had with backtests is not allowing winners run. Allowing them to run can make you profitable even if win rate is 30%.

    • @OrchardForex
      @OrchardForex  Год назад +1

      That is easy to test. Set TP ratio to zero and there will be no take profit applied, trades will only be closed on the exit condition. Unless you have a different proposed exit condition. My tests didn't show much difference with TP=0;

      @@OrchardForex That makes sense. Perhaps combining EAs that are designed to work in ranging conditions with EAs that work well in trending conditions? It would be fantastic if you could make a video about this.

    • @OrchardForex

      I don't make recommendations like that (you've probably heard me say that before) but I strongly believe that there is no one strategy that always works. you should have a portfolio and use your own judgement on market conditions to know which to use.

    great video bro, it really goes to show how they use that part of the test to show their 100% win rate....it surely will kill new traders
    question if i may...if conventional non expert indicator traders that trade purely discretionary have a win rate of 40% and rr of 1:2,5 and still are profitable..why is it hard to replicate these on an expert to give the same stats?

    • @nva3wrr1
      @nva3wrr1 Год назад

      Cause in "manual" trading you will almost always interfere in a trade. Like closing trades before big news(or not open a trade at all),take your profits before actual target was hit, holding bigger drawdowns etc... thats one of the reasons why you can not automate most of "winning strategies". But that just my opinion...

      It's an interesting idea and I might add it into a more full featured version of the expert but I don't expect the results will be as good as you think. Based on loss values and number of trades I think the spread would eat up a lot of the profit.
