Measures how quickly traders are bidding up / down the price of a security
RSI scale is 0 to 100
below 30 generally indicates oversold ie time to buy
above 70 is overbought ie time to sell

4:00 MACD Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD)
Momentum indicator that shows the relationship between 2 moving averages
MACD is Short-Period EMA less Signal ie the Long-Period EMA ie longer one from shorter one

5:00 Timeframe For RSI and MACD Combo best to use 4 HOUR timeframes.

This is truly amazing lessons for free, couldn't ask for more. One question I had, are these RSI signals and MACD confirmations good if you're a swing trader only? I know you mentioned it can work for medium-long traders as well, but then it'd be interesting to see a video on how this works in the long term (quarterly, yearly etc..). Thanks!

This is such a great channel.
Yup you got it! That is exactly how to read those signals together! And that is how you make money. I use 6 indicators and when they sync its a major green light and usually you will get patterns on top as a bonus. I just bought so much over the last dips using these tools. Very powerful!

This is a golden video. Thank You for so much in-depth input, especially in cryptos. I have a question- at 10.29 You show Buy signals with RSI and MACD crossing, however, looking at the chart, just above the letter D the same 2 factors come in place- RSI is below 30 and MACD lines cross- why isn't that a place to enter?

James! Your content is amazing. One question: What time scale do you use when applying the RSI And MACD indicators? If I look at the charts over a 1 yr, 6 mo, and 3 mo timeframe, I get very different outcomes on both indicators.

I've only been trading for a few months with small amounts. I figured out how to use RSI and MACD effectively pretty early on but it's great to see confirmation that I'm on the right track. Absolutely love your content and I hope your channel grows. Maybe it's just my personality but I don't find TA boring at all and in math we trust!
When I look back at the mistakes I made getting started they all come down to not being patient on the entry points or waiting too long on the exits. Fortunately I only trade with small amounts and using DCA I managed to get out of most of those bad trades in small profits anyway.

As a new investor I never fully trusted what I was doing and have often ignored my technical analysis to my detriment. Thanks for this video, nice to know I have been doing it well all along, now I have more reassurance to stick to the plan.

You are a legend!!! I do have some questions:
- Why do you set the RSI to 10 instead of preset 13/14?
- You never use the overbought signal of the RSI for the sell moment?
- I noticed when backtesting this that quite some times the RSI is not under 30 but very low (30-40) and the price starts to rise and the lines cross. This would be a no go for you for a trade? For example on 20-12-2021 at 1pm UTC+1 time, the RSI is at 33, the lines cross and the market goes up 13%. All of this is happening at the key level of 46k

I use 4EMA indicator with 30-90-180-360 candles have to be ones that you can divide by 3 like 15m - 30m -1h-3h etc. It works really well for me :)
James, just found you on RUclips and I’m loving you’re content. Quick one on MACD, do you think this strategy could work on the indices. Also, what is the reason for changing the default values on macd. Cheers, Andrew

on your MSTR part and some others too, your entry is a bit early as you have to wait until the 4h tick is closed to confirm, then trade during the next 4hr tick, so you must wait until the MACD crosses rather than just getting closer to the red line. Apart from this observation, I love the vids and advice, (sorry, that isn't advice!! ;-) ) Very non shouty, thank you :-)
Mind explaining the WHY behind using custom settings for RSI and MACD? I’ve always used default settings, but have been curious about custom settings
