Fun fact: Jam's Superpuffball super is given away by the fact that it's the only time she isn't loud.
It's also so invincible and slow that she can yrc cancel the startup to avoid burning 50meter on a super but have around 22f[edit I said 25 originally that was slightly wrong] of invul before the yrc to whiff punish with. It's effectively the safest form of backstep yrc.

Everybody in the comments talking about how they hate her voice. Damn am I the only one who actually likes her voicelines? The VA did a pretty good job, and it doesnt sound annoying at all to me.

Fastest IAD + fastest 2D that is also jump cancellable + air momentum cancelling specials for ambiguous left-rights makes this woman almost as much a menace on block as she is on knockdown. If she does a decent job of increasing your mental stack, you’re gonna have to guess 6P, back dash, air throw, or something else to stop these instead of just reacting to them, at which point, prepare to eat counterhit puffball, 236S~K, or even 236S~K~214K for extra layers.
Trying to stop her from making you block in the first place with some preemptive pokes? Puffball, godlike counter poke 2S, parry, low body invul 6HS, low profile invul 236S~P, or even a random half screen dragon kick if she’s got the installs will still blow your ass up if you don’t use the right poke at the right time-she doesn’t need oki or range to delete a third of your health for guessing wrong. Trying to block it out? She has a 2H that vacuums you in and is +2 on FD will force you try to escape somehow, whether it be throwing, IB’ing, backdashing or whatever, all inputs that she has ways to punish through true blockstrings and hard callouts.
There’s just so many different tools you have to individually understand and check in this matchup, but also almost always CAN check due to her range and lack of being a setplay character that it makes her one of the craziest and most fun matchups to learn how to master imo. Defeating a good Jam really feels like you just successfully navigated some close range variant of a bullet hell game-it’s the best time I’ve ever had on defense besides something like mastering the block/shield/throw OS game in Under Night, and that’s really saying something.

Jam Was actually the first character I tried to learn, but I was turned off by how hard and long her combos were and I just switched to Faust (who also had superior visual design for me). But to be fair it was back when I just started playing Xrd (which was my first fighting game ever).
She looks really fun and I should probably try to learn her again. The Puffball and the parry combos look just as pog as the counter hit pilebunker ngl.

One of the best thing about Jam I like about her which makes me plays her is her supers and how it forces the opponents to play by your rules. Especially the Puff Ball super. It makes them block, and you mega plus. Free mix baby

Advice from someone who tried: She is nowhere nearly as easy as this video makes it look like. Her main offense tools are an instant airdash cross-up DP and instant airdash 214K which is VERY specific in terms of spacing outside of the corner. She can be grabbed out of her 236S (burst rush). Her aerial 2K is unsafe ON HIT without meter. YRC-ing her dragon kick is her simplest overhead. On the upside, Jam's meter gain is INSANE, she always has meter. And she can put serious hurt on most characters even with simple combos if you can land at least one charge-card special. And getting charges isn't rocket science, you can get one on every successful 2D (sweep). You want to move around a lot too, since any kind of movement towards your opponent means meter gain. But be wary, her durability in Xrd is roughly the same as Chipp's.
Just say NO to *zoing* and long pokes!

Rubber soul in hftf has a 2f counter that launches into either a hard knockdown followup or a projectile super that does about 54 damage with good timing on larger characters. (Max hp in heritage is 144)
