great video! you only forgot to mention that if you play with a friend, they are guaranteed to use instant kills on you without you knowing its even a thing
This was my first Guilty Gear's game, The moment when Sol uses his Dragon Install was the moment when I became a Fan, I just testing some moves in the character when suddenly Sol used his Dragon Install and the Music had changes with that READY OR NOT. I only started to dance and start to download every game song into my playlist
This is honestly an amazing fighting game guide. So many considerations for the hair brained individual like myself. Honestly might finally give Xrd a shot- I only ever understood what I was doing in fighting games _after_ Strive so it'd be nice to finally go back to one of my first purchases.
Video is way too goated. Just went to Frosty Faustings and the top 8 inspired me to check this game out and this video was the perfect gateway drug to get right into the fray. Thanks for your input into the community and all the hard work that went into this video.
I really appreciate the quality of the VFXs used in the titles and transitions. Well edited and written. I have played Xrd before, and Strive, so I'm familiar with most of the information discussed, but it was so well put together I enjoyed watching it all the way through. Good job.
Man, that's one amazingly well done video. The way it's structured, your voiceover, the whole way it's cut and the scenery in-game. Just awesome. Subbed for potential new gems! Keep it up (that is if you find fun in it!).
this is actually an amazing guide. not only is it very informative and simple, but it has a sense of humor too, so it's not very boring either. this really helped me get into XRD, so thank you
I haven't played GG Rev 2 yet, but someday I will! Played a bit of Skullgirls, BBCF, UNIB, UMVC3, Accent Core, KOF XV, and Vampire Savior though. All of which I enjoy very much! Great guide.
That was a pretty major inspiration at the beginning of script writing and voicing. Later down the line as we got more comfortable and confident, we started to try and shift a little. You can probably tell how different certain sections are from others.
I would have gotten into Rev 2 when it came out if there was a guide like this to help. It's great that this is here in time for the rollback now though! Nice work!
4:25 "IB builds more RISC" Common misconception, but no it doesn't. You take slightly reduced RISC from blocking moves in a blockstring with no gaps (say, c.S > 5H), but if you IB and create a gap then you take the normal amount of RISC instead. Using IB on a single hit won't affect the RISC value at all.
Just wish the Grab could be configured to F/B+DUST. That's something Strive actually made better. Other than that, Rev2 is still the king of GG. P.S. The omission of Dead Angle in Strive is also a huge MISS. That was something that made some punishing bearable! GET THIS GAME!! Let's keep it alive and make it more alive than ever!
5 mins in. Great vid so far. However I need to point out something. Jam mains simply do not block. I have never seen a Jam player block, they WILL mash or they WILL parry I am a Jam player
i played a single match of strive during the winter sale and said "i like this now" i now own strive, xrd, xx, fighterz, and have been playing more of one of the games rotting in my library, P4AU. i am now obsessed with arc system works plz help
Pretty fun and sick vid, thanks man. If I can ask a question, wdyd if there aren't any lobbies in your region? I hopped in ranked during the beta because I never saw any public lobbies on the west coast whenever I played
I’m not sure how populated the public lobbies are nowadays, but going to the player match lobbies is a pretty good substitute. You’ll find a good chunk of new players there. You’ll be able to tell they’re new by the color of the little shape next to their name. If it’s blue or green then you should be good to play them. Color goes up the more you win games.
you didnt explain how to throw and what common pitfalls are so ill mention them throwing is done by pressing forward and heavy slash, if you hold upforward or downforward you will not be able to throw or airthrow opponents so keep this in mind after an opponent is hit or wakes up from being knocked down they have a short moment of throw invulnerability, do not attempt to throw people during that window you cannot dash and throw at the same time, you have to stop dashing first or press faultless defense for a split second to force your character to stop dashing, doing this will give you visual confirmation that you are ready to throw but will also indicate that to your opponent you can option select throw by pressing another button at the same time, weaker buttons have prevalence over heavier buttons in this game with throw taking prevalence over normal buttons as a result of this pressing p, k or s together with 6h will result in a p, k or s if the throw whiffs now you are ready to throw people, make sure you practice it a bit in training mode to get a feel for it
@cosmiceggs2385 pretty much what it means is that if you do it at the end of a combo, it will do more damage than the normal version. It sort of means the same thing as does more damage so I guess I could’ve worded it a bit better, but I wanted to try and imply its use in combos as well.
It really depends on your pc build. Since Xrd is pretty optimized and not intensive you have a lot of wiggle room for graphic settings. I would try out turning off V-sync and dynamic lighting. If push comes to shove, there's a setting that allows you to change priority to processing instead of image quality. This is mainly to make sure there isn't much input delay along with constant 60fps
"Winning is euphoric, and losing is hilarious"
That's a great and positive mindset to have
this is probably the best guide to a fighting game ive seen, very clear and to the point with the right amount of humor too :D
This video is way too good, more people need to see this, if not to learn then just for entertainment.
This men needs to post again, he is peak fighting game entertainment.
there are so many baller content creators in the xrd community. I love it here.
great video! you only forgot to mention that if you play with a friend, they are guaranteed to use instant kills on you without you knowing its even a thing

Criminally underrated guide. Keep it up bro!
did not expect that online is alive , had bad time finding games in 2021-2022, and just stopped trying. Thanks for the guide
I really appreciate the quality of the VFXs used in the titles and transitions. Well edited and written. I have played Xrd before, and Strive, so I'm familiar with most of the information discussed, but it was so well put together I enjoyed watching it all the way through. Good job.
i just recently started playing again and got this on my rec and my god this editing is actually amazing
You really made me excited to play Xrd, and I believe others too.
This is a legendary guide for the game I did not think was this fun.
I loved that you manipulated the camera angles,it's so cool
This video really came at the best moment, as a newbie, thanks a ton
Highly recommend this video, very knowledgeable
Man, that's one amazingly well done video. The way it's structured, your voiceover, the whole way it's cut and the scenery in-game. Just awesome. Subbed for potential new gems! Keep it up (that is if you find fun in it!).
This video is amazing, I geniunly thought rev2 was much more complicated that depicted here,so ill definetly give it a shot.
good vid, im doing my part for the algorithm
this is actually an amazing guide. not only is it very informative and simple, but it has a sense of humor too, so it's not very boring either. this really helped me get into XRD, so thank you
Its clear there was a lot of love and work into this video, great job man!
Awesome guide! Hopefully more people will watch this now that Xrd rollback officially got released.
Why does this video have so few views? Great work, useful and love the editing flourishes
By far the BEST tutorial for XRD
Actually the best. Please make more of these
Super fun and informative video. Thank you!
I haven't played GG Rev 2 yet, but someday I will! Played a bit of Skullgirls, BBCF, UNIB, UMVC3, Accent Core, KOF XV, and Vampire Savior though. All of which I enjoy very much! Great guide.
Rev 2 is way easier to learn than A core. Go for it!
This is like Max0r made a fighting game tutorial, and you know what? I FUCKING DIG IT!
[Stains of Time starts playing]
That was a pretty major inspiration at the beginning of script writing and voicing. Later down the line as we got more comfortable and confident, we started to try and shift a little. You can probably tell how different certain sections are from others.
Xrd is a perfect balance between accessibility, fun and a high skill ceiling
It has a little something for everyone
This video is amazing it's way too good
I would have gotten into Rev 2 when it came out if there was a guide like this to help. It's great that this is here in time for the rollback now though! Nice work!
This is fucking gold, thank you
This is an awesome video. Please make one for Strive!

"IB builds more RISC"

It's a oversimplification because explaining that goes over someone's head, so it's easier to just say "IB increases risc"
This video is wonderful
Nice ass shot of dragon install Sol in the beginning
*grabs are often referred to as throws.
good guide!
This is awesome!
I want more!!!
great video holy shit wow!
I can't believe elfelt got an F
Also wait XRD has mods the hell?!?!
Huh I didn't know what risc was, guess I learn something everyday
Does anybody else think this guy sounds like a tranquilized Bedman?
I just put the vid in 1.5 speed and now I can’t unhear it.
5 mins in. Great vid so far. However I need to point out something. Jam mains simply do not block. I have never seen a Jam player block, they WILL mash or they WILL parry
I am a Jam player
man I fucking love XRD
Cool video! i already have strive and want to know if it's worth it to get this game as well
I hope new players won't be scared to much and stick around
i played a single match of strive during the winter sale and said "i like this now"
i now own strive, xrd, xx, fighterz, and have been playing more of one of the games rotting in my library, P4AU. i am now obsessed with arc system works plz help
update:
HELP I NOW OWN PRETYY MUCH EVERY ARCSYS GAME AND SOMEHOW MADE IT TO TOP 500 SOL
Sol beating her daughter?? Thats domestic violence.
Pretty fun and sick vid, thanks man. If I can ask a question, wdyd if there aren't any lobbies in your region? I hopped in ranked during the beta because I never saw any public lobbies on the west coast whenever I played

Sick, thanks
Make a room in player match and people will join
This feels like if munchyjr made a full tutorial video for xrd
you didnt explain how to throw and what common pitfalls are so ill mention them
throwing is done by pressing forward and heavy slash, if you hold upforward or downforward you will not be able to throw or airthrow opponents so keep this in mind
after an opponent is hit or wakes up from being knocked down they have a short moment of throw invulnerability, do not attempt to throw people during that window

as a result of this pressing p, k or s together with 6h will result in a p, k or s if the throw whiffs
now you are ready to throw people, make sure you practice it a bit in training mode to get a feel for it
man i wish my pc was good enough to run this game
good video
bro I need you to come back and continue making videos
hahaha this is great well done
im pretty sure this vid keeps reappearing on my feed with a different thumbnail everytime
There was a small mishap with some art in the og thumbnail. This one is here to stay.
This is a great guide. But at 9:17 What do you mean it "scales less"?
@cosmiceggs2385 pretty much what it means is that if you do it at the end of a combo, it will do more damage than the normal version. It sort of means the same thing as does more damage so I guess I could’ve worded it a bit better, but I wanted to try and imply its use in combos as well.
@@THE_BIG_OL_UNIT I get it now, thank you! 🙏
Thank you
10:55 did sol just do two air jumps
Great tutorial. What settings (graphics) are recommended to play online?
It really depends on your pc build. Since Xrd is pretty optimized and not intensive you have a lot of wiggle room for graphic settings. I would try out turning off V-sync and dynamic lighting. If push comes to shove, there's a setting that allows you to change priority to processing instead of image quality. This is mainly to make sure there isn't much input delay along with constant 60fps
this really made my gears guilty
nice BUT I guess u forgot Insta kills
Nice Demoman cameo on the phone lmao
8:45 did he just said “50 pesos” ? 💀
Me cant even beat the tutorial very nice
“A wise man once said - I didn’t pay $60 just to block- Don’t listen to them. You are a semi-functional homosapien…” 😂😂😂 that cracked me up.
Bro sounds like the official guilty gear tumblr account
Hi, thank you.
7:16 what? No. Dragon install. Why? Because it scares the opponent into submission. Plus you no longer need to play neutral.
Drunk Demoman in guilty gear when?
You forgot M.O.M mode
Honestly M.O.M. mode itself could be it’s own mini vid. Also neither of us who worked on the video really played it all that much lol.
Make the same guide for guilty gear strive pls
Glue?Fellow Potemkin main under that slayer hood?
