🚨ATTENTION🚨 There's been an official update from Bambu Lab for the A1 heatbed cable call back since this video was released. Please disregard the information on the first accessory that I mentioned. Bambu Lab has escalated the matter and they're saying that ALL OWNERS SHOULD STOP USING THIER A1s IMMEDIATELY. There are 2 options available to move forward. Option 1 - return/refund the A1 and receive a $80 credit in addition. Or Option 2 - wait until the end of March for Bambu Lab to send replacement parts and receive a $120 credit in addition.
Read their updated blog article here 👉blog.bambulab.com/a1-recall-update/
I'll create a follow-up video shortly that goes into detail.

For most that cable is NOT an issue. Bambu is just covering their backsides by doing the recall. That cable guard would work forever.

BTW Bambu is NOT providing a cable replacement. They are proiding a complete heated Bed replacement. I just recieved and installed mine. Easy peezy with thier instructions.

@@Creatorrific So I did notice that when I tried to use the build plate aligner that I'm not getting "nozzle is covered with filaments" errors because it looks like it checks for filament in the upper left AND upper right corner. Great idea but it looks like the new firmware may cause some issues. Beat my head against this issue for HOURS before realizing what might be causing it.

Great video. I like that top mount. Most in the past do not have the stiffeners and the A1 is top heavy the the top mount AMS, this solves that problem. I didn't have any problem aligning the build plate with my pre-recall A1 but seem to with it's replacement I just got. Not sure it's it's the new printer or what. If they would remove or move forward the rear magnets on the heat bed I thing it would solve this problem or make the stops on the back of the heat bed bigger/taller. While I like my BBL A1 regretfully "getting back to you quickly" (14.32) is not a something BBL apparently can do. Their support is some of the worst I have ever seen.

I find the scraper to be a bit too scrapy for textured PEI plates. In my experience, the best tool for the job is a scraper made for an oscillating multitool. Spend the money to get a good one and it should be good right from the package. If you cheap out, make sure you take the time to remove the burr from the scraper before use. Either way, these never fail me.

    • @Creatorrific

@Creatorrific there is a print to make the scrapers more perpendicular to the plate. Also the scraper with replaceable blades on printables is amazing. Additionally search the bendable ones. They really get anything stubborn up

I wanted to tell you what an awesome video this was! very professional, extremely informational and well put together! It's a very classy touch that you give links to all the things that you spoke about through the video. I also have an A1 purchased in December set it up after Christmas and after a slight adjustment to the heat bed it has worked awesome. My cable to the heat bed shows no sign of fatigue although I'm holding off using it and I am NOT returning it!I had considered buying an X1 Carbon but I'm holding off on that too to see how well they pull off the repair of this very nice little machine.
Thanks again for the great video! P@t
