Within the masses of hybrids and downsized turbocharged vehicles hitting the roads every day, it begs the question...does one really need to go V8 or go home? As even the biggest of vehicles are receiving more efficient yet more powerful engines, some companies such as #Lexus refuse to stand down in the pursuit of V8 power. However, the #2021LexusGX460 seems to have fallen a good bit short of the V8 glory. With over 2.5 tons to move and only make a hair over 300 horsepower, it doesn't sound like a solid recipe if you're looking for a real brute of an SUV. This is made even more saddening with the company still filling it with older technology that is far outclassed by it's younger and newer siblings. So why do we still have big V8 SUVs like this running around? We took the #LexusGX460 for a week-long test drive to find out!
Better than an x5, x7, q7, q8, cayenne, gle and many many more German rivals. This is a work mule and these days people NEED reliability, why? Because we are over stressed with this fucked up world and we need something that WORKS and doesn't piss us off and doesn't cost a kidney and a liver to own
We love our 2021 GX dinosaur. Traded in a 2018 4-runner TRD. We didn't want the sport package either and shopped around, this is a lot of SUV for the money. Apparently, the GX posted it's best sales records last year.
In terms of the ride quality, tires sometimes make a big difference. Micheline tires, in my opinion, provide better ride quality.
Maybe it's aging but it is also having a record sales year. 2021 is a record sales year for this generation GX. At 12 years old that says something. The only year that sold more by this point in time was 2005 the first year of the first generation. Most sold are priced around 60K.
It sells well because people are tired of changing their car every 3-5 years due to sensor problems like Audi, BMW and Mercedes. They want reliability and don't want to be stuck at the dealership every month for troubleshooting.

The GX is tall but not that long or wide the two row RX350 is longer and wider than the GX. The GX is taller than the RX. The GX turning radius is 38 feet the RX 45 feet.
All that don't matter. We just love them way they come.😅

There is no apple carplay/android auto in these GX460. Only in the 2022 model have they finally introduced it since the GX's inception. Lexus, slow as molasses

Argh, another opinion I need to ignore. As you know everyone has one. 20 min of my life I can never get back! Geez!!!
You lost all credibility when you said the the GX you reviewed was $20000 or more then a RX. You are wrong or not very smart. The only way a RX would be around $20000 less then a GX. Would be if you compare a luxury GX. "I'm sure that's the one in your review by the $71000 price" and a base RX. If you priced a luxury RX you are looking at about $68000.
it's not a fair comparison. And that makes your review or opinion worthless.
