I am 86 and recently lost my husband of 68 years, I have been lost . I decided to try to learn to paint and have been watching you. I just love how you paint. I am learning so much and now have a reason to get up in the morning. I have so much to learn about paint products and how to make the paint flow off the brush and what liquid is but I am getting better and can smile again sometimes. Thank you Your really cute
I used to teach a local oil painting class & several women joined us who were recently widowed. They expressed the same feelings as what you said. There's something about painting that's soothing to a broken heart. Thank God I haven't experienced losing my husband but my heart goes out to you & I'm soooo glad you found a reason to go on. May God bless you.
Michael ....this is miraculous! You have been touched by a higher power....what joy to look at what you do...and learn...and to enjoy what's possible in the human mind ! Had you been born in 1400s ...you would have been idolised !
Nobody paints like you, Michael James Smith. If they reintroduce the Garden of Eden, I am nominating you to head up the design team. I want o be in this scene with my lady and a picnic hamper. Thank you. God bless you.
I am painting an Australian scene with dry dead grass- your technique has helped me so much and has spurred me on to finish it - Thank you Michael. So Kind to share.
I am a new "trying to be an artist" and I am amazed at the realism of your painting. Your painting looks like you could just step into the painting everything looks so realistic. Thank you for sharing your talent and your skills and your tips! You are phenomenal.
I have a painting background but have not known the techniques you employ to produce realistic foliage, whether in the distance or foreground. Thank you for your clear instruction and the opportunity to see you beautiful paintings come to life.
You achieve a phenomenal photo realism in your paintings and I am amazed at the amount of detail you put in to them. You paint every leaf and every blade of grass. You are so talented. I love watching you paint but I couldn't ever hope to paint like you. Fantastic, that's all I can say.
It takes more talent to NOT paint every leaf and make it look as he did. I have painted for a long time and trust me , painting the illusion of detail is far more difficult. Look up Donald Jurney....he is the Master of what I describe. And I have seen his work in person and always blown away by the realism of his work with minimal strokes.
Paul, you are comparing apples to oranges. I love Impressionism too but these are two totally different techniques.. Michael is going for photo realism and I’d say he nails it!
@@AndersJohansson many artists don't, thus Paul's comment. But I'm learning how to do it all using Michael's instruction, and then I can choose what to keep and what to imply.
The photo realism of your landscapes is stunning. It's not my preferred style, but I can sure appreciate incredible talent when I see it. Thank ypou for your videos (and, yes, I watch all of them).
thank you for letting us in to your studio and watching you make magic with your brushes and telling us how you do it. I just love watching. it trutly makes my day. thank you so much i'll be watching every day.
I am pretty much self taught until now. I have learned so much from watching you. Thank you so much for making these videos. Perhaps one day you could do a video of your studio and how you have it set up.
I had to rewind and watch the part where you went from the previously painted one and the reference photo.... the painting is so realistic! One could say better than the photo! Wow....
I could watch this a hundred times over and still be just as fascinated as the first time. I like the home made brush. And yes, I will be trying that. Thank you sir
You are a huge inspiration. Just when I was ready to glue grass to the canvas I watched this video again. I'll watch it another ten times before attempting grass again...just to make certain.
Thank for this tutorial just started 4 weeks ago myself, did a view paintings now and guess what I am color blind and never thought that I was able to learn painting in colors. Learned new stuff watching your videos.
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗your artwork is Awesome.
OMG, first time on your channel. I looked at your job and coundn't figure out why u painted this left down corner grass on the acutal photo Then you showed actual reference and I had to admit that your paint looks more realistic than orginal :D I am amazed, thanks for sharing this.
Thanks Michael for sharing your wonderful techniques. I'm thinking of moving over from acrylics to oils. Its videos such as yours, that's encouraging and inspiring me to go for it.
So, it is possible to do the same. Ok I am going to try it. If we use that for fantastic projects as fantasy paintings, or science fiction paintings, it will be absolutely magic. Thank you because you decide to explain techniques. For us it is free courses, and "full hight quality" ones!!! BRAVO
About to work on a painting project, and this is really helping. Never thought I’d be as good as I am when I first tried it out. I have only just started this hobby, and I really want to get better at it, and this video helps a lot! Keep up the good work 😄
Greetings master! Your technique is brilliant and so inspiring, I'm watching your videos twice or three times if necessary in order no to lose details. I'm so grateful for the knowledge you deliver us. Sorry for my english. Greetings again from Chile.
I have always struggled to make grass, but your videos have made it look so easy. I am amazed with the details you are able to put in. One question , why dont you ever go wrong on anything. Every stroke of yours is a perfect stroke. thanks for the video.
I’m not sure whether to love you or hate you for your exquisite paintings. Only joking Michael. You are the reason I picked up my paint brush again after 30 years. Anyone who isn’t inspired with your art obviously needs a frontal lobotomy. I keep practising and I am relatively happy. However, like most artists, I guess, I am never completely happy. I should have made a career out of art but sadly the bills pile up, and unless you are truly talented, like yourself, shite gets in the way. Rock on Michael, fantastic stuff. :)
Hi James... I know how to paint but I can't be like you... You're such a very talented person and I really amazed with your paintings... Thank you so much for sharing the Technics wish I can make it too...😊 Someday Long live James.,. 🤗
Michael gracias por acercar la cámara y buen detalle de poner la pincelada en la hoja blanca ....eres un gran maestro Te sigo desde hace algunos años saludos
Wonderful thank you for showing us your incredible talent again and again Michael. Appreciate it. I would have used liquin the whole time but now I will try lean so it dries faster! Excellent!
Holy **** i was just looking around to get a feel of how to make grass since never painted but alot of drawings back in the days with fill colors just wanted to see how it works to get integrated into drawing with apps but damn man you are freaking Awesome m8 and haha not in a millions years ill get this integrated into web paintings or with a pensel but it was a nice spend time to watch you work... Cheers !

Beverly, I hope you are doing better....
Well done Bev, hope today is a good day

This is what you need to have perseverance and perseverance. I am surprised. Praise the artist.
Best tutorial I’ve ever watched!!!!

Phenomenal work as always! I'm constantly blown away by the level of realism you achieve in your grass, plants, and trees.
I think your paintings are remarkable. I absolutely love your attention to detail and the results are beautiful.

I am a fan of james work. He paints so natural and realistic.

Thank you for patiently explaining your process at the same time while you actually paint. This was very helpful.
