Your are a goat but can you do seahawks rebuild, or maybe just what the path looks like in the future. Thanks, much love. Ps thanks for making all these top quality videos.
As a Cards fan I generally agree with most things. Three things I woud do different though. Sign Hernandes instead of Pugh, since Pugh has been flirting with retirement for a few years now. Sign Greg Dortch, he has arguably been our best reciver outside of Hopkins las year. He is free agent priority 1, allen is priority 2. Since we signed Dortch pick o line in the 2nd round. Especiallly center if possible, John Michael Schmitz would be the dream if he is still there. But what ever you do, keep Dortch on a small contract he will be so cheap since nobody knows about him. The positive side of him not getting the playing time he deserved last season.
The reason why Brett traded D-Hop for a fourth round pick is payback for the Cards getting D-Hop for a 2nd, a fourth and David Johnson from his "favorite" team the Houston Texans and Bill O Brien
Hey Brett I'm down with the majority of the moves. - Love bringing back Zach Allen and Byron Murphy. Cya later Chosen Anderson. - I'd prefer not to trade Hopkins but if he wants to go I'd aim for a pick next year. See if we can turn that 4th into a 3rd next year. - Our biggest need right now is sneakily a center. Rodney has been hurt a lot recently and almost didn't play last season. He had a kid last year and there were rumors he was going to retire to spend time with them. He had to be talked into coming back for last season. My dream pick in the 2nd round would be John Michael Schmitz if he's available or some other player with guard/center flexibility. If Rodney comes back we can kick JMS to right guard. I'd rather we not be caught with our pants down if he does retire. - My unrealistic home take is that Kyler will miss most of next season and I expect we'll have another high pick. I'd like to take that pick and the Hopkins pick to trade up next year for Marvin Harrison Jr. We'd try to compete with Hollywood and MHJ. Unrealistic but that's my dream plan.
If Rodney does indeed retire (which I was reluctant to assume), then I do think JMS would be a fantastic pick early in round 2. As for Freeland, I felt like whether Jones or Freeland starts, they still need a third tackle to insulate themselves from injury so it was a necessary pick at a premium position regardless. Especially because I knew I could get guard help in the 4th to round everything out. Either way, OL should be very, very important to this Cards front office this year. They need more dudes.
@@BrettKollmann Low key agree with this and I think Gannon's prior success with the Eagles trench talent will make it a point for the GM to take care of the trenches. Plus its embarrassing to watch the Cards just get pushed around in the 2nd half because they don't have the talent in the trenches with teeth.
Cardinals fan here, overall I really liked this draft. You hit all the high points. I do think that, if they move him, 'Hop is likely to garner a bit more than a later fourth round pick. A second rounder with a swap of later round picks or a third round pick that is a bit earlier feels right to me. Always enjoy your videos and this one was no exception, well done as usual!
The wind isn't common here in AZ. You hit on a weird day. The rest (hot/dry/inhospitable) is all correct. Your lips get used to it after a few weeks. And yeah, you need a hoodie in the winter here. Coat is overkill.
Hey Brett, first of all, thanks for the whole video, just some points I will not agree with until I am proven otherwise, I don`t think Hopkins will only net a 4th rounder. If I`m right the team trading for him will owe him about 20 Mil next year. Considering, that he still is balling and is a relative cheap option compared with guys like AJ Brown, Cheetah or Davante Adams, I could easily see a team like the chiefs giving up their 2nd Round Pick for him. The other point is, that Kyler is ahead of schedule and may miss less games then what is expected, so I would expect him to not even miss half of the season, so they may be more competitive one may expect. But either way I`m really hyped on the draft and all the potential ways it could end up.
The issue with giving up more than a 4th and Brett went into his reasoning for it; DeAndre's Age. Receivers don't normally age well in the NFL after they cross into their 30s as most of them will start to experience decline in athletic ability. The average career length for a wide receiver with at least a Pro Bowl is 11.7 years meaning retirement around 33 depending on when they entered the league. Giving up more than a 3rd is incredibly hard as that is still (mostly) a top 100 pick that you would have guaranteed contract control for a minimum of 4 years versus a possible 2 year deal that you will have to mostly guarantee (given Nuk's previous contract history). I'm not saying he isn't worth the pick since he's shown he's been worth every dollar of his contracts, but as players age, their trade value plummets.
@@aegis3039 just a few imo similar situations where receivers got traded beyond the age of 30, so If i got it right sanu got traded for a 2nd rounder, AB for a 3 and a 5 and Julio for a 2nd and a 5, so I think its possible that a team like the chiefs would grab the opportunity to get 2 years of Hopkins on a somewhat cheap deal for a 2nd Round Pick that could turn out to become JJAW
@@mastergamerz6825 Take a look at the teams that made those trades. OAK/LV -> Pit AB Never played a single regular season game. That 3rd Rounder became Diontae Johnson. While DHop will give more value than any of those other players did for their team, there is a sentiment of Buyers Remorse for those trades. Let alone that the Chiefs just woon a SuperBowl without a true number 1 receiver and have a handful of amazing role players.
Is the the best most well produced in depth series on RUclips right now even if you’re remotely interested in the NFL. I look forward to every episode keep killing it Brett!!
22:44 man that whole segment about the numbers game is why i LOVE Jordan Davis. entirely off topic from the video and taking any excuse to talk about my team, apologies for that, but god he’s so perfect for the modern nfl. i know he didn’t show much of anything as a pass rusher this year, but i can only imagine what he’s learning from fletch and hargrave, even BG to an extent, if he puts together a true pass rush arsenal to pair with that freakish athleticism and strength, there isn’t a more prototypical lineman in the NFL
Awesome vid Brett, but I can't help but notice you missed an essential part of the yearly Cardinals offseason agenda. The Cardinals in this video didn't sign any old legends to randomly play in a Cardinals uniform for a year or two. Think of Cardinals greats like Emmett Smith, Edgerrin James, or even recent additions like JJ Watt and AJ Green. This tradition must continue and force the NFL fan to ask "wait they played for the Cardinals?" Where is the 2 year 30 million dollar deal for Julio Jones? The 1 Year 15 million dollar deal for Cam Newton? Or perhaps even Joe Flacco could become the Elite quarterback the Cardinals are looking for? The possibilities to get fans in seats are ENDLESS!
I've been a subscriber for years and can't wait to see your work about my Seattle Seahawks. I'm a hardcore Seahawks fan and this is my favorite time of the year. I don't watch ESPN or NFL network for their general opinions. I'm interested in actual insights of teams by someone like you. Now I will actually see how much work you put into this kinda stuff and whether I ll agree with you. looking forward to it.
LOL the Saints know they are rebuilding. Its the only thing they've been known the past 5 years or so. The way they go about it however is not the smartest thing as much as some of their fan base may think the cap is not a 'real' thing. Worse part is when they do blow it up, it won't be the 'cleanest' thing either with how they set themselves back with the cap.
Ivan pace Jr was an incredible LB / RB from Colerain, I remember watching him play as a 6th grader. It’s insane that he isn’t starting. But that goes to show that the NFL isn’t a fairy tail world. You either got it or you don’t.
I love when the Cardinals are flying under the radar because when we fly under the radar...we still suck but at least it's about 1.3% less disappointing. I don't know what we're going to do but I'm glad Keim is gone. Now maybe we can draft guys on defense to play the positions they played and were good at in college and maybe we can draft offensive linemen that are at least good enough to make it to a second contract with the team. Keim was absolutely dreadful in drafting offensive linemen.
Byron Young looks like he covers ground incredibly well. Each clip you showed had him flying across the field, even though he's lining up often on the interior of the line. He seems perfect for any team that wants to pull stunts and get a big guy somewhere unexpected compared to where he lined up. The ability to laterally move like that, at that size, with that speed, could be incredibly useful.
Those first 4 picks in the draft have me on the edge of my seat, it's gonna be so interesting to see how things play out in the end, also if Cardinals can draft well, 9 picks in the first 6 rounds, including no.3 overall, that's a lot of draft power if you can find talent in day 2 and 3
First! Hopefully you learned not to believe all the stereotypes about AZ, and you actually enjoyed it out here. 2nd, I don’t think they give up Hopkins for anything less than 2 or 3 picks, if at all. This Mock Draft is pretty solid, and I do think there a couple of 7th Rd guys & UDFA’s that could be a solid fit (Ie: Kyle Soelle-LB-ASU)
Okay, question… I’m all the way on board with taking the rebuild year, was thinking the same. With that in mind, why structure these extensions in the conventional style to save cap this year and balloon later on? I get that you can roll cap space over, but what’s the edge there compared to designing these contracts specifically to take the bulk of their cap hits in 2023, instead of 2024 and 2025? If we know - with Zach Allen in particular - that he’s for sure going to be part of this team 4 years on, I say front load the extension as much as possible. A rebuilding year with a lot of rookies coming in who are cheap today but not tomorrow. It makes all the sense in the world to me to use this as a way to ensure you have cap space when you want to have it- while you’re trying to win on Kyler’s contract, and when you start having to pay this rookie class
Think you nailed this! Only issue you didn’t take into account, is the Cards front office becoming competent in one off season. Should have put your name on the hat when the GM position was open
You can't just hang one GM for just one FA/Draft offseason. Steve Keim was given multiple years, one bad QB pick and was gifted Kyler Murray. He also didn't do a good job building on the margins in key areas of need despite wheeling and dealing draft picks for talents who aren't high impact long term contributors (outside of Hopkins). Just gotta hope Monti with all his experience is good at getting value in the draft.
I hope you do these for all 32 teams! I'd love to see a Ravens video 😁 thank you for all of your continued hard work, Brett! Informative and entertaining as always
I don’t know how you’re standing out there in a T-shirt man, I’ve been down here for 10 months and I already can’t be outside this winter without my ski pants and jacket
i'll get straight to the point. Not upgrading interior O line is a major error. That's the reason Kyler was running for his life most of the season. signing Pugh to a 2 year deal is a big mistake as well as no attempt at improving Center. Hudson most likely will retire. O line needs to go younger resulting in better overall health and stability for the O line and for Kyler. 2022 average age of Cardinals' starting O line is 30.4 (resulting in starting O line being injured most of the season). 2022 average age of Chiefs' starting O line is 25. I am ok with trading DHop, but not for a 4th, 3rd at lowest. as for the draft, if you're not acquiring a decent Center in FA, then it is a need in the draft. Also taking a 5'10 (short) WR at pick 2 is like repeating previous Keim mistakes (Isabella 5'9 short, Moore 5'7 shorter as examples). imho, top priorities for the draft should be focusing on the trenches. As Monti stated, success starts at the line. Tackle is currently not a position of need. it can be a depth piece later on in the draft. second half of the draft was decent.
If and when you do the Seahawks one, since most of the picks and signings are addressing the front 7, could you briefly explain why the current front 7 has struggled so much? Particularly against the run. Loved your three pronged Vikings breakdown on why their defense sucks so would love to see that for the hawks.
Only thing I feel like you missed was the possibility they bring in some kind of vet QB to try to help them not be trash while Kyler is out. Also can’t wait for the Seattle vid!!!
Coburn is a good pick. As a former Nose, I feel like the value of the immovable DL has be forgotten with all these speedy rushers, so run defense has suffered as a result.
Brett Hundley needs to be brought in from the cold to fill in for Kyler. He was very good in that role previously and they should be able to get him cheaply based on his current status as an XFL QB..... He was excellent versus division opponents.
I’d love to hear about what you’d do if you were running the vikes. To me it seems like they could blow it up tomorrow or make a push but I’d like to hear your take on it maybe. Big fan, keep up the good work
If Arizona ends up with 2 of the most hated Florida DBs of the last few years that would be kind of funny. Hope Trey Dean III figures it out at the next level, man was he painful to watch in college.
I like Will Anderson but a lot of the highlights you put in are him going at the ball carrier untouched or a sack because the quarterback ran up into the pocket basically in his arms.
I decided to be an idiot and leave the warmth of the Underdog House to record this one. Still probably worth it tho.

I hope you do these for all 32 teams! I'd love to see a Ravens video 😁 thank you for all of your continued hard work, Brett! Informative and entertaining as always
Carolina Panthers next. I think that is one of the more interesting off-season
You should do the rams. As a fan I think it’d be interesting to see your take.
I don’t know how you’re standing out there in a T-shirt man, I’ve been down here for 10 months and I already can’t be outside this winter without my ski pants and jacket
Another great video man!
So glad I’m a Seahawks fan. Cardinals in shambles, Rams in shambles, 49ers……well hey there’s 3 wild card spots 🎉
That's the highest I've seen Blake Freeland go in mocks. I thought he had an injury history?
When do you start the rookie prospect scouting vids for the draft?
Can’t wait for the Seahawks one! I believe we’ve got a bright future under GM Brett
i'll get straight to the point.
YESSSS BRETT GIVE ME MORE REBUILDS
If and when you do the Seahawks one, since most of the picks and signings are addressing the front 7, could you briefly explain why the current front 7 has struggled so much? Particularly against the run. Loved your three pronged Vikings breakdown on why their defense sucks so would love to see that for the hawks.
Love the content. Well done. I’d love to know how you’d fix the Raiders.
absolutely fucking love these videos, thank you for these absurd rebuilds
do you give them Tunsil as well?
Would love to see what you think of the Bucs post-Brady, Brett!
Hey welcome to the state man!
Josh downs I feel like will be a stud as well. Kinda reminds me of Scary Terry
please do a falcons rebuild. i feel like we're in an interesting position next year.
Only thing I feel like you missed was the possibility they bring in some kind of vet QB to try to help them not be trash while Kyler is out. Also can’t wait for the Seattle vid!!!
yesssssss!!! The Colts Episode!!!!!!!
Coburn is a good pick. As a former Nose, I feel like the value of the immovable DL has be forgotten with all these speedy rushers, so run defense has suffered as a result.
Me refreshing over and over for the Lions episode to drop
love the series. As a 49ers fan, are you going to do us? even with no first or second? or is this top 5-10 teams only?
Ivan pace jr. is super underrated he will thrive under demeco ryans
What’s your opinion of, AT Perry? Where/when do you think he’s gonna go
As a Cardinals fan, I was really hoping you would make a video about us after watching the first two since we're #3 in this year's draft. Thank you!
Hopefully you have A Big Blue episode planned !!!!!
Good luck pulling in those FAs once they find out they have to pay for their own meals at the team facility lmao
Can't wait to watch this as a Cards fan... may Gannon bring us out of this purgatory
As a cardinals fan and someone from Scottsdale, this was a weird video to see, but I think the moves made make a lot of sense
As a Cards fan from Prescott, I am laughing that he thinks Scottsdale is cold. We got a foot of snow last night.
Big fan, keep up the good work
Arizona is so beautiful man
Can’t wait for the Seahawks episode to be filmed entirely in a Starbucks
no no wait, Seahawks Offseason: Live From The Gum Wall
Would film it from Pike’s haha
“Ivan, go forward and fucking kill somebody” absolutely killed me 💀
Brett, how would you build around Kenny pickett for the steelers
If Arizona ends up with 2 of the most hated Florida DBs of the last few years that would be kind of funny. Hope Trey Dean III figures it out at the next level, man was he painful to watch in college.
I like Will Anderson but a lot of the highlights you put in are him going at the ball carrier untouched or a sack because the quarterback ran up into the pocket basically in his arms.
