I'm interested in planting one of these in a container, and I just want to make sure that even though it's rated for your zone, it will still be ok in a container (I am in zone 6). Thank you!
Trees in Containers only grow as big as root systems allow. Think about bonsai for example. I will know I need to change once tree stops growing. Maybe a couple of years. I can always plant in larger containers.
@naturebluegardens Got ya. My concrete pots have been outside for years. First winter for the plants but in SC they are short and not too cold. I'll just keep them watered a bit.
You can root prune every couple years to provide fresh soil. This can be maintained for a long time. I suggest adding some new soil. Root pruning is necessary because the plant will become root bound.
@@naturebluegardens Thank you. I feel like I'm watching a true gardener when I watch your videos. I actually found Spartan Junipers and will be putting 4 of them in pots today. I'll be following your guidelines since you make it look quite easy other than dirt in your eyes. LOL.
Love your apron. ❤ I wear them for cooking all the time. Need to find one for planting.
Thanks. I think I got it. An answer to a comment about changing pots helped
Glad it helped
Very nice. That’s going to be a very nice addition to the front of your house. Thank you
Thank you.

Just the information I'm looking for. Concern about the width in a container. How wide do you expect them to get? Thanks. Very clear info

Do you continue to water junipers' in pots during the winter??
No. Once ground freezes they will be dormant until Spring.
@@naturebluegardens mine are not in the ground. They are in concrete pots.
Depending on what zone you are in the concrete pots can Crack. When I refer to ground it is just a reference point. My pots are above ground.

Hi ,how tall can they grow need privacy my neighbor has non thanks
I'm wondering if I get big enough containers if I could leave these in the pots and not put them into the ground at some point?

@@vickipackham7357 Thank you. Got to leave some of the crazy behind the scenes stuff in. Good for a laugh.
How tall they grow in a pot thank you .
12 feet in ground. Growth in a pot depends on changing soil and up potting to larger pot every couple of years.
