Yeah I opted for the Amazon elbow, trimmed back an inch or so. I did gain a few mpgs back from going to 35's. One things for sure, the stock intake tube has to go.

Most of my driving is on interstate at 75 mph but fuel mileage really is the same in town as on interstate. Only difference I ever see is when pulling a 20ft trailer with 33hp Kubota tractor with implements on it.

@_GlitchGaming Driving 70 or 75 doesn't make a difference with these 35's. I can get between 20-21 on highway @ 60mph. That's down here in south Louisiana on flat ground. Lol
I would love to see a video with the top 5 or top 10 Performance upgrades that you have found work the best on the LZ0 in order of importance or value add. I went with the S&B CAI and I'm averaging 2-3 MPG more. Most of my driving is highway. 62.4 miles to work. No CELs but I followed the instructions to a T including disconnecting the battery for 2 hours
22-24 sometimes better depending on conditions. I have an AT4 with MT tires and a bedrack. I took the roof top tent off. The speed limit is 75 most of the way in. With rack and tent before CAI I got 18-19 avg With just reaching before CAI I got 19-21 Just rack with CAI 22-25 and it's more consistent.

What is the best setup for someone in high summer heat? I live in PHX and we spend most of the year above 100*. Will a CAI still be a good idea with our weather here? How does the Airaid/K&N CAI compare to a drop in filter?

I have videos on the S&B, it had less power and less mpg... The K&N is the one I have on my truck ... no check engine lights. Coupled with the PPE Carbon intake pipe, sounds great !!

If your a farmer like me do not put a K&N filter, there mostly for people that city drive. Watch project farm as worst air filter for dust as not worth the 5hp. I even took k&n off my dirtbike after i asked a mechanic about them. Dust free you shouldn’t have a problem!
Ppe intake pipe or a and b intake pipe and k&n airbox. S&b airbox with side cover removed a close second. For noise. S and b always gave me poor fuel mileage and underwhelmed during multiple testing videos.

I am looking into a LZO 3.0 right now . Do I have to do all these modifications to get a good ride out Of it ? I may just go with the 6.6 diesel and avoid all This .
@@BearPapa49 I totally understand ! The 3.0 and 6.6 are two totally different platforms. The 3.0 in a 1500 can get up to 13,000lb tow capacity but it's really a street truck that can do big things. It's still just a. 3.0 though. The ride will be better than a 2500 as will the mpg. That 6.6 will do everything you can ask of it without batting an eye, so it really comes down to what your use will be.
Quieter with the stock tube in place. The Fitment is excellent. I had a K&n that did not fit very well. They sent me a new box and that fit great which you see here. I then removed this and tested an airaid (same box) and it fit perfect. My current setup is ppe carbon pipe and k&n box with airaid (dry) filter.
I am not willing to try their product. The owner was very rude and openly ok with stealing peoples money. I am aware he passed away and that is very unfortunate for his family and friends. It is my understanding that someone else, a friend of his, is continuing to offer the CFT line of products. I see there was a redesign, which that means they were aware of the issues and they should contact the people that purchased the junk product prior. You are better off buying the S&B intake, it's far superior in many ways and is a price that cannot be beat. For the best product available, I suggest you look at the PPE Zilla Pipe. When looking at these and comparing to the updated design, you will notice a smooth flow into the turbo versus the CFT dual 90 degree bends which is bad for airflow.

I do not, as far as I am aware, the airbox difference is on the lid. The air aid is closed off when the k and n is open. So, it makes less HP but also is all cold air from the front.

I just got rid of my 2021 Ram 1500 for a 2023 Silverado with the 3.0. I drive 110 miles round trip for work. I am not worried about more power. What is the best setup for fuel efficiency in your opinion or should I just leave it stock?
Leave it stock. The intake tube is nice because it adds some additional sound and response when you touch the pedal. Otherwise, stock form, these are very well built.
Take out the top two shutters leave the two center ones in take out the bottoms and they'll all be wide open I did it on mine I only run 170 degrees all the time on a high country with the PPE transmission pan I was over $200 the

I don't think it's that bad. Every company is different, some prefer to work on specific projects that take time, engineering, carb approval and perfect fitment while others are ok with mediocrity and first to market deployment.
CFT - All policies listed on website. If have fitment issue that you believe is part issue ship back we check on jig and fit to our truck. If no issue we send back. Me- Would you say this is a part issue you will see on your jig? (with a pic) CFT - Dont see any issue Me - I reached out for some assistance, I can’t believe the service you are giving. CFT - You just sent a photo of part on the ground. Looks like part. Not installed or tried to be installed. So have zero idea what your issue even is. Me - I cannot install it, as it does not fit. The picture shows the angle the pipe ends at on top of a pipe that does fit. CFT - Then ship it back to us. We do unboxing video. Then show it to our jig, then installed on a truck. Post the video for you. From that maybe you get the help you need to install it. ..... Then they posted a video on how to install it and that's where they use the boot on the box to hide the misalignment. Just poor quality and poor service.
@DemonWorks I have this pipe actually and it fits about like yours . I did move my air box a little and loosend all the clamps and finageled it around for about a C+ fit. To me it looks like an easy fix for them . Kinda sucks they didn't back it up.
I 100% agree. This pipe was intended to be the engine bay upgrade I was after. The charge air cooler was going to be powdercoated the same color as well. I had high hopes and really tried to get ahold of these guys to make it right and I was let down, over the course of a few months. I felt I could "make it work" but in the end, I don't run products that I have to "make work". K&N had major issues on my box and they fixed that issue and I am stoked to have it on the truck. I think people should know what they are up against, because many out there don't have the ability to adjust and correct manufacturer defects. great to hear the positive results. Every intake I ran netted worse mpg. The S&B produced the worst for me though. What numbers are you seeing?
22-24 sometimes better depending on conditions. I have an AT4 with MT tires and a bedrack. I took the roof top tent off. The speed limit is 75 most of the way in.

Contact Airaid and get the cover piece for that airbox. I have video on it, second best intake I believe is how it’s titled.

No, they are good in stock form. The 6.6 is far superior so if that is even an option, I would go that route anyway.

No, because they are linked to a bracket. As long as the bracket / slide is attached, all good.

Does the k&n box connect to the factory cold air scoop??
How is your truck trans temp running so hot? My 2023 AT4 LZ0, towing 7,000 lbs in 70°F weather, never got above 196°F......
in 30 degree weather and not even towing, I would see 210 degrees. 199 is better with the ppe trans cooler but still not good enough for my liking.

No, it’s not a direct / straight into the box setup. Still has to enter, go up then down into the tube.

Solid info, I already do all of the above and my temps are 195/196 but the LZ0 is different from LM2. My LM2's all ran lower trans temps.
Only issue now is that the link for the CFT pipe isn’t working it send you to some circus thing

100% will not, different designs. The CFT doesn't even properly fit with the stock box as it's designed.
