Any financed car will have a GPS box with a kill switch. That way they can shut it off in a accessible area. When payments are not met.
@@dormantmenace not true. I have a 2020 fully loaded TRD Tacoma I haven't made payments on for 4 years and no one ever disabled my truck or repod it. Eventually they "charge off" on my credit report lol they gave up trying to collect. It's not considered stolen either lmao it's mine.

A simple law here would help reduce this problem.
All tow trucks should be required to be clearly marked.
All markings should be registered with the authorities.
A file of "mugshots" of all registered markings should be on all police computers to aid police and witnesses to identify suspect vehicles.
All registered tow trucks to have GPS locators tracking their movements.
Owners of registered tow trucks must monitor the movements of their vehicles and be held liable for the actions of their employees using those vehicles for nefarious purposes.
ANY AND ALL TOW TRUCKS, FOUND BY POLICE, NOT REGISTERED OR MARKED SHOULD BE CONFISCATED, IMPOUNDED AND, IF SUITABLE, BE PUT INTO POLICE SERVICE AND, IF NOT, DESTROYED.

I shot 2 people steeling my neighbors cars in the last 1.5 years
My buddy's dad did that and got 2 life sentences.. it was his car! One of them was a pro football player. Happened in the mid 80's thoe.. he's dead. Died of hepatitis in the the prison system

It's gonna get worse. Automakers have discontinued producing spare parts for new car's. They are pushing everyone to buy EV's.

Automakers are PRIVATE businesses that can CHOOSE to do that. maybe it's more economical in the long run. And if EVs are better for the environment than gas guzzlers, supporting them is a God-given duty and a true conservative value.

I wish Trump kept his promise of draining the swamp but since he supported Dems for so long (including sending Hillary $ for favors before he ran for President) I guess he's pretty leftist. he never prosecuted her as promised, either. he failed his promise to lower the debt and did record high debt/money printing that's still effecting us today.

I've gotta admit, this was kinda savage! Impersonating a tow truck driver in order to steal cars? Thieves are becoming smarter over the years. Now I have to look out for odd looking tow trucks. My heart goes out to these people who got their cars stolen!

I'm retired now, but this was a huge problem in my city years ago... 1 of every 5 car thefts was the work of bootleg wreckers. We stopped it by requiring company names, addresses, phone numbers and the wrecker's board's registration number to be clearly painted on the wrecker. Even the driver's had to carry an ID card. Any wrecker not in compliance was towed and the driver arrested. Put an end to that shit! If the bootleg wreckers can't drive around on the roads they can't find cars to hookup and steal.

Wow! I was not aware this was happening. A few weeks ago I was sitting in my car in my townhouse parking lot reading mail. A tow truck backed up blocking me in. I beeped the horn. He got out with no paperwork in hand n said , “Ma’am, get what u need. This car is being towed.” I screamed, “What the heck are u talking about?”
He looked nervous , jumped in his truck n slowly drove away. Idk what he was up to.
They come in the night take your car or Chuck or whatever they want the police don’t want to talk about it because they know this is out of control
It’s got to be local mechanics/body shops.. number 1 for them to have access to a tow truck as well as the experience in how to operate one and how to hook up whichever vehicle…. But also for the purpose of this whole scam which is usually to strip the car and part it out.
Mechanics have done this horrible scam for many years now unfortunately and they use it as a means to maximize profits by not having to pay for parts. As well as additional profits made by either selling/scrapping remaining parts or selling the cars if they’re able to.
Scary part is, often times no one is calling the police when they see a tow truck towing a car away in the middle of the night, cuz they assume it’s a repo (which is embarrassing for someone as well).
Tow truck drivers everywhere across the country are stealing cars. A lot of these trucks have no signage at all on them. No way to know who they are. They just pull up to any car they want and take off with it.? I have a old work van that I leave out front but my cars are in my garage. No one is safe from this.

Orlando Florida is the worst place. The towed my semi truck for no reason and forced me to pay 875 dollars and no body protect us from those robbers.
