Thanks for the tutorial, this tutorial is like a proper professional tutorial by one of the character in Gran Turismo 7 license centre, which the game has currently missed out.
You're welcome man! And thanks a lot!
It would have been a great idea actually if they made one.
Best drift tutorial I've ever seen! Not just for GT7 but for real life too. Can't wait for the next one! Awesome work bro
Thanks a lot man! I really appreciate it!
I hope you keep enjoying what's coming 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Thank you for this really high quality video with excellent explanation. Love the interior view driving with the view lined up exactly in the spot of the virtual wheel too!
You're welcome! And thank you a lot for your support! 🤟🏻🤟🏻❤
Thanks to this video I learned doing the circle as mentioned on a G29, Thank you 🙏 now from tomorrow I go to part 2
This is really awesome man! I'm really glad that this is helping! Thanks a lot for your feedback, I appreciate it. Best of luck in your journey into this rabbit hole 🤟🏻🤟🏻
This is the best drift tutorial ive seen so far ive learn how to drift in the first hour
Thanks a lot man!! And wow that's actually very good progress from your side. Seems like you're a natural drifter, seriously! I hope my coming videos keep on benefiting you. Best of luck 🤟🏻🤟🏻
This tutorial is phenomenal! When i try to explain to beginners, how i keep my car under control, i really struggle to explain, what i am doing and why. From now on, i will just show them your video.
Thanks a lot man!! I used to struggle with it the same issue. I don't think anyone can ever simply just put it into clear words without the aid of good visuals. This is only part 1, and I'm planning to explain every single detail related to the subject in the numerous coming parts. So stay tuned and thanks again 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Well said. It's one of those things that's really hard to explain because it's so much about feel. I remember being taught to drift way, way back in my teens using a kart. I had a great teacher, but failed over and over to initiate and hold the drift. Then one attempt I got it, and never had a problem again. Once you feel it, it locks in, but it's hard to convey verbally as knowing all the exact steps perfectly, still doesn't quite unlock it.
Best drift tutorial so far, I have been struggling for so long changing from controller to wheel, and now I’m starting to get it.
Thanks a lot man! And that's really awesome, I'm really glad that this is helping. Thanks a lot for your feedback, i really appreciate it! And I hope that my videos keep helping you to improve 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Thats the best explanation I've ever found about drifting in general
Thank you so much! I hope you feel the same with the coming ones 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Best moments of Part 1 for me are 3:17 on the initiation, and 8:28 on maintaining the drift. I'll be watching it over and over again.
Thanks again bro. Yeah these are the essential parts of the practical execution of the drift. The rest is just more details to better understand what to do and why we do it.
The best is 9.56
Hey, this helped me a lot! Great selection of car as well. The M3 doesn't go all crazy, it's so stable.
Thanks man! And i'm really glad this helped, thanks a lot for your feedback 🤟🏻
Yes the M3 is one of my all time favorites, I love that car!
I just want to thank you for helping me! After many many tries I really focused with my G29 and your video on just “initiation of the drift” and paying attention to the throttle input guide on screen. I really made progress tonight 😊thank you!
That's really awesome to know man, i'm really glad this helped!
I hope the future parts will help you as much, and thanks a lot for your feedback 🤟🏻
I’m just going to keep watching and practicing. You make it look so freaking easy!!!
@@SimActionClips oh snap! I really had another perhaps
, thee breakthrough necessary as far as throttle modulation. Watching the footwork and listening to the sound of the engine revving like a song. When my engine revving sounds like yours guess what happened? Sliding and tire smoke using my G29!!! Yes! Thanks again! More study, practice and success.
Really awesome bro!! Yes engine sound feedback is very important. Use a headset if possible it almost eliminates any delay and makes it much easier to control.
best tutorial ever! Thank you for the professionalism and precision!
congratulations again
thanks a lot!! I really appreciate it!
10/10 demo! Thanks!
You're welcome buddy, thank you! 🤟🏻
Very explanatory totorial from an expert 👍🏻👌🏻❤️
Thanks king 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻❤
I was able to get gold in the first two drift missions, because of this tutorial. For that, I am forever grateful. Lol...
It took me a bit, but I was determined not pick up that damn controller.
That's awesome man, I really like how this helped that much! I hope the future videos keep helping you getting better at this 🤟🏻🤟🏻
And thanks a lot for your feedback!
Such a clear explanation 👌 gr8 job
Thanks a lot!
Many more parts are coming 🤟🏻🤟🏻
I have the Thrustmaster T150 and so far its been impossible to drift with. Its equally difficult when trying to countersteer during a race. I have played around with the steering wheel settings, but until this video I was unaware that the controller sensitivity setting had anything to do with the steering wheel. Awesome video, great explanations.
GT7 is super hard to learn drifting in compared to most sims out there. Don’t be discouraged. I’m on a T-GT2 and I’m sucking BAD at drifting as well. It just takes a lot of time to learn this skill.
The car you use also matters a alot. Almost all the typical drift cars are SUPER twitchy. This BMW used here is so much easier. And some of the american muscle cars are even easier than this. Big cars are like drifting in slow motion. Much easier. Like driving a boat.. whereas the ae86 and silvias etc are super duper squirrely.
High power engines are also an absolute disaster for newbies. Same with high RPM turbos.. where all the power just kicks in after 5k.. so hard to control.
A car with about 200hp and no turbo will have the smoothest power band for newbie drifting.
Keep at it, you will improve :)
So glad this helped man and thanks a lot for your feedback! I appreciate it! What @JimmyNuisance said is very true. Just keep going 🤘🤘
You can try this latest setup I made for the S14 which makes a great car to practice with: ruclips.net/video/LqtZ2Ud21ik/видео.html
I will be recommending it in my Part 2 which I'm currently making using this car.
@@SimActionClips Thanks for the feedback! Great car, great recommendation. I'll test it out when I have the time.
been waiting for this 🔥
The best is yet to come I promise 😁
Just got the T248 on sale at gamestop and got humbled real quick learning to drift! Great vid Cheers!
Congratulations bro enjoy it 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Just keep practicing and having fun
And thank you 🤟🏻
Thank you so much. I just started using the wheel and it’s great until i lose traction. Then i spin almost every time 😅
So now i want to learn drifting to fix this problem. Thanks for the instructions
You're welcome and I really hope this helps you improve with time, while learning the right techniques. There is also a part 2 if you didn't watch it yet with a lot of more parts come:ruclips.net/video/aNb7f5VzA2E/видео.html
Wow, you can actually charge good money for this video series! Part 1 is very professionally done. It's not just about having the critical concepts, but you know how to effectively convey them to the audience. It takes a lot of effort to piece the clips together, as well as to draw the diagrams to illustrate the concepts. Thank you for all the effort you have put in!
Totally agree
Thanks a lot man! Yeah I actually filmed all the driving parts back in May 2022, when I started generating the plot for the video. I had to discontinue the progress later, till I found the best way to include some clear voice-over. My own voice was not working for me, so I was waiting to get some good equipment for clear professional recording. Then lately, I discovered this brilliant realistic sounding AI tool, which is not so perfect but much better than recording my own voice in my opinion. I tested this format in the FFB video guide to see how well will people perceive it. It turned out to be the best performing video on my channel by far. So I became more comfortable with the idea, and relieved that I would not ruin the info with some bad execution you know. I'm so glad that people are liking it and I hope it goes as viral as it deserves. I know this deserves to charge money for, but I don't think anyone would even try it without any proof that it's worth it. Right now my goal is to well establish my channel and make it the number one destination for people looking for Gran Turismo content. It's not even monetized yet, so that's the first milestone to conquer. After the success of the FFB video which has generated 879 view hours by itself until this moment and still going, I think the required 4000 view hours for monetization are now very easy to accomplish with this drifting series.
Thank you for your nice comment, and for your continuous support! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
@@SimActionClips Do you mind sharing which AI voice generation tool did you use? It's really good! I tried to find one but none were good and free. Good luck with monetizing your content, you deserve the reward. I used to get some reward from my channel too (all lacked voice narration), but nowadays I'm busy with family so I neglected my account and was already demonetized by RUclips. Oh well, too bad!
Sure man it's this website: www.synthesia.io
I had to do some tricks though, cause the free version gives you only a limited number of characters to type, and you can't even download the clip when it's done, unless you have a paid subscription. So I had to download a cracked version of Movavi Screen Recorder to capture the sound. I open my generated short clips in different browser tabs and play them back to back while recording. I then adjust the spacing in the video editor. It takes more time this way but it's still much easier and faster than recording my own voice lol. Thanks for your kind wishes bro! Yeah I feel you since I barely have time to do the things I want myself. But that's life.
@@SimActionClips yup, I've tried these free websites and indeed, lots of limitations for the free demo! I was able to extract the audio out of the video easily with free tools like VLC player or Handbrake; didn't have to do screen recording. But it is painful to combine them altogether. Amazing to know you've went this far to get the narration in, hats off to you!
I just want to say thanks a great deal. I finally started to be able to do your first part of the tutorial to be able to initiate a drift and counter steer without spinning out. Even though my q55 prism tv has no Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). haha. It is do-able.
I finally realise that you did not turn in hard before you blip your throttle.
You were turning the steering wheel at fixed angle to keep up with the circle and maintaining your speed around 64km/h plus minus.
After which, you have to feel whether the car starts to be at the point where the tyres are at its limit before drifting through the feedback of the wheel.
That is the point where you depress fully on the throttle and release totally in a moment while faster helping my g923 wheel to counter steer in the opposite direction before turning back to face the front.
To be able to do it multiple times round the big circle makes me excited! Thank you once again for this tutorial! You are awesome❤
You're welcome! That's some great news man!
Yeah it is do-able for sure. I actually learned everything I know with high latency on my older Samsung TV. It wasn't until last year that I had ALLM. But it does make it much easier and much more controllable.
Yes that's a good description of what's going on, seems you got it well figured out. Just one point about the front tires before initiation. I wouldn't say they're at their limit, they're somewhere near maximum grip. You can feel it with heavier ffb, if you try to change your steering angle at that moment. Being able to feel it right also helps a lot in racing and hot laps, as you would be able to judge the level of grip at the front and also use it for good slip angle while trail-braking. I will be better covering this particular case in detail in future videos.
I'm so glad I could help this much, and I know how good it feels when you start getting the hang of it. That's really awesome! Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to share this, this means a lot! 🤟🏻🤟🏻❤
@@SimActionClips yes near maximum grip. Not sure how to describe that hahahaha Thanks for putting in the right words.
You're welcome man thanks again!
awesome tutorial. this is exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you!! Many more to come 🤟🏻
Me and a mate was trying to drift the Grand Valley lastnight too. This is a fantastic tutorial mate! Been going in circles for 20min now and can’t figure out why the outside front lights up. Wannabe rwd drifters like me thank you!
You're welcome buddy so glad this helps! The outside front tire is the one that holds more weight than the other during a drift. Wrong input which cause understeering will light it up.
Stay tuned for more advanced information in the coming videos 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Had no idea about the wide open lot at Willow Springs, that's exactly what I needed for practice!
Yes it's the best way to practice 🤟🏻🤟🏻
There is 1 at suzuka too if u want to switch it up
Awesome, so useful!
Thank you!! Glad this helps 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Very useful 👍👍👍
Thanks a lot man , I am waiting for Part II...
I still haven't found the way but you said things Which help me understand that I'm in right way...
Drifting with controller is another word and much easier, but the wheel makes me feel a useless piece! If I manage to drift, you Will be a part of this success.
Thanks man and you're welcome! I would be really glad to help anyone succeed and I really hope this helps. I know where you're coming when comparing it to controller. I started drifting with controller on PS2 in Enthusia and GT4. I switched to drifting with a wheel on GT5 using the Logitech Driving Force GT. It felt like i had no idea what to do, and I felt like I was physically incapable of doing it. It's just normal at first and takes some time to build it as one of your habits. You just need to stay patient and keep practicing. It will all come to you by itself. It made a drifter in real life, able to beat anyone who doesn't practice on a sim.
@@SimActionClips I bought a steering wheel 3 months ago. At first I couldn't even turn in a race without going off the track. when I started learning I found that for so long I was driving wrong even with the controller. And even worse, I realized that I was wrong even in the actual driving that I have now improved. However, things that I do comfortably on the controller are impossible with the steering wheel. But I won't give up, I've played close to 400 hours on gt7 and I hope something comes out of it. Thanks again for the video and like I said I'm looking forward to the next part.
Yes man everything you said is very normal. On top of that, I even kept on developing and improving my driving for years and getting rid of so many bad habits. For example i qualified and was a finalist in GT Academy International 2014, after already being a competitor in the local drifting championship. I was really good compared to others. Yet still, it wasn't until around 3 years ago that I got rid of so many bad habits in my driving and improved my laptimes by so much just by eliminating things that used to do wrong. I believe that it's a lifelong learning curve and simply the more you practice the better you keep on getting with time.
You're welcome man and thanks for the support! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
这个视频是RUclips中讲GT7漂移最好的了!!!兄弟我支持你
Thank you so much bro!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻❤
I hope you enjoy the coming ones.
excellent video. a tutorial on how to drift properly is sorely missing from gt7. This is what exactly what i needed to grasp the concept on how to drift
thanks a lot man, I appreciate it 🤟🏻🤟🏻
I hope my videos will always be helpful
Great video bro! The controller settings are a game changer, especially Controller sensitivity 5! Helps a lot with the linear steering as you said
Awesome bro! I'm very glad that this is helping! Thanks a lot for the feedback, I really appreciate it 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Nice tutorial! i didn't had this chance to get a so good tutorial when i was learning 😢
Well thank you! I'm self taught, and I know the struggle and waste of time resulting from not being properly educated on the subject first. Moreover I got to deal with getting rid of bad habits developed over the years, and I know how much time and experience it takes for one to finally notice by himself the not so obvious and counter intuitive details. More advanced Tutorials are coming, and I'm planning to cover every single detail related to drifting. 🤟🏻
Thank you for the tutorial bro this means a lot
You're welcome man! Many more to come 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
thank you so much, this is very detailed.
You're welcome, more details to come 🤟🏻🤟🏻
This is the single best drifting instruction video I have ever seen. I have a G29 and 2 weeks ago I watched this video and started learning. Now I can constantly drift counter-clockwise with the M3. This is thanks to you! I'm really keen to see the next part of this "course". I'm thinking about upgrading to the Fanatec GT DD Pro wheelbase with the CSL Elite WRC wheel. I'm wondering should the controller sensitivity be set to 5 also with other wheels than G29? 🤔
Thanks a lot man! This is really awesome I'm really glad I could help this much! Yes the controller sensitivity setting should be set to 5 for all steering wheels to work best. You can watch this video if you wanna know in detail why I set the values this way: ruclips.net/video/oEe5ZchqbMg/видео.html
I also have a Thrustmaster TGT2 and use it with this setting set to 5. I've even spent the day further testing and tweaking things, just to confirm to myself that all the FFB settings still work the same after the new update 1.31, and they all do.
I got the g29 w shifter recently then got a full setup rig, and let me tell you, its so hard drifting, but i enjoy it quite well, this vid will definitely help me improve and genuinely i like the wheel, sure its not the very best but its definitely good, it makes things harder which can also help you later on
Congrats on your new equipment, they sure are all worth it. Drifting is gonna be hard to get used to at first, which is normal. It's gonna take some time. You just need to be patient and practice a lot. And as you said, the G29 is still a good wheel, and it makes things harder which can definitely help you later on. Enjoy! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for
Awesome man, I hope this helps! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
@@SimActionClips I’m about to hop on now and try it out
best of luck!
sick man! well done
Thanks a lot bro!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Finally . Thank you for listening to us
You're welcome and I hope this helps. Stay tuned for the rest! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
This was great! going to go home and apply these settings. I was wondering why my 86 was alwasy spinning out so much and was not able to catch its counter steering point. Amazing video! Thank you so much.
You're welcome man, and than you for your nice comment. I hope this helped! Let me now if you made any progress 🤟🏻🤟🏻
@@SimActionClips Tried last night and boy does my car keep over steering . not sure what it is.. I start turning and hold down the pedal and as soon as my rear T's begin to slide i let go of the gas and counter steer but as soon as i gas again it just does a complete 180.. so frustrating. Maybe I'm not catching the counter a good angle? so stressful lol
It will take some time at first to get the hang of it, so be patient man. Mainly, you need to focus on being as gentle and smooth as possible with your input changes. A good idea would also be to film yourself (showing your inputs clearly) and watch what you're doing wrong in the video. When caught up in the moment we can't see everything very clearly like watching things from a distance. But in all cases you're teaching yourself a new habit, and your body needs some time to develop the right reactions for it, so keep practicing bro.
@@SimActionClips I see, that was good break down. I'm using the Shigeno version of the ae86, should i change any of the tuning or can the car drift with it being stock? btw I'm getting a little better at catching the wheel when mid drift but damn its hard.
Great job mate!!!!!!
Thanks a lot mate!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
I love your explanation of physics
Thank you! I hope this helps along with the coming videos 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
the most professional video ive ever seen for teaching people how to drift
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate that!
Did you see part 2?
@@SimActionClips yeah i watched p2 too its so fuckin pro level teaching. illegal to see for not paying it thx for your work. i can drift in asetto corsa w every level car and i dont even know it was this deep😆
@@SimActionClips its much easier w drift pro level cars than stock af cars. stock cars takes much skill, mechanics and need keeping the momentum but in pro cars if u can handle w high power and can be responsible with it just smash throttle to the ground link the whole layout ahaha
haha well many people tell me I should charge money for these lessons. I just want to grow my channel as big as possible for now. You're absolutely right and there is more to it... one should start learning with road cars and later switch to pro drift cars to avoid developing bad habits. Like you said road cars teach you how to maintain the momentum which translates to smoother and better planned drifting in pro cars. And using angle kits while learning is a big no go to me as they are widely used the wrong way these days. One should start without an angle kit and switch to using it the right way after mastering everything about drifting without it. It leads to much cooler looking smooth drifting later.
Nice video💪🏽🙏
Great video!
Thanks a lot!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Awesome my friend ❤
thanks a lot bro! 🤟🏻🤟🏻❤
Hey mate ! I just wanted to thank you for this tutorial, i have a t150 and thought drifting will never be possible, but now its been somme hours and getting better every time! I ve just liked the m3 from 2007 better. THANKS A LOT
You're welcome mate! That's really awesome, thanks a lot for your feedback! And that's also great if you can drift the 2007 M3 well, then stick to it and keep practicing 🤟🏻🤟🏻
@@SimActionClips have you tried drifting in the new update ? I will try tomorrow
I can't download the update right now because my internet connection at home is down. The employees of the internet provider company are on a strike 😅.
I want to try the new physics so bad and I just can't. I hope this gets resolved soon. My friend is telling me the feedback has changed a lot and it feels weird rn. I need to test that.
@@SimActionClips I quite like it, it's better now
Just tried it now. Wow!
Everything feels much better and i can much more easily detect the slightest understeer. It feels much more realistic.
Such a good video, i've had seen many drifting tutorials on many sims and steering wheels, i get to practice but i felt that i was not getting better due the different setup's and sensation of driving from one to another wheel, i saw the steering configs video too and setted my configs the same, i'm using gt7 and g29 too, also, the explanation was much clearer. wainting for the next part
Thank a lot man, really glad this helps!
I hope the future parts help you get better at this. I might be also doing videos for how to best setup the ffb in other sims too. Enjoy! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Video was soo professional
Thanks a lot man! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
The fact that your drifting on a G29 is impressive as the wheel sux for drifting
Well thanks a lot! The G29 is a not bad wheel but it's slow for drifting. I have to keep helping it spin fast enough most of the time which adds to the work that should be done when drifting, compared to the real thing. That's why I've now switched to the Thrustmaster TGTII 👌🏻
@@SimActionClips exactly, I was never able to “catch the slide” with G29 and never knew what it felt like until I moved on to TM myself
I’m glad to hear that… I tried and tried to complete the drifting tasks but couldn’t do it to save my life… I swapped to my controller and had them completed in ten minutes
Nothing wrong with the g29 it's all about the settings

Thank you and you're welcome! 🤟🏻
Hello there. This video is great. I have a weird side note question... how do you do the ai voiceover? what program do you use? It reminds me of old JDM video dubs like Best Motoring or Option
Hello, thanks a lot man! I appreciate it 🤟🏻🤟🏻
I use this website: www.synthesia.io/
Best Motoring is my favorite show btw. I learned the theories related to drifting from the Drift Bible episode some very long time ago, and it's what inspired me to make this tutorial.
Hello sir, thank you for your professional teaching and sharing. I would like to ask whether the g29 needs to use the logitech hub to adjust the rotation angle and sensitivity? I tried operating range 720, 540, 180, and the sensitivity was 100. There is no difference after adjustment. Can you help me setup g29 best operating range on gt7, thank you!
Hello,
Logitech Hub only affects the profile of your Logitech wheel on PC.
The wheel itself doesn't store any adjusted settings, they stay on your PC for PC use. You cannot adjust the operating range in GT7, it's automatically adjusting depending on which car you drive.
You're welcome and thank you for your support 🤟🏻
Hello first of all thanks for the video tutorials, as a second thing I wanted to ask you if you have a valid configuration to drift with the DD Pro of the Fanatec because I'm going crazy with the Force Feedback settings, sensitivity etc. The steering wheel feels hard, it doesn't drift and when by some miracle it happens the car turns completely, I can't hold the steering wheel or get it back to the normal position. In addition to the practice that I am missing, I definitely need mainly a Good configuration of the steering wheel settings.
Please help me.
Hello, you're welcome and thank you.
I can recommend the in game settings but I don't have any experience with Fanatec's internal wheel settings.
Controller steering sensitivity: 5 for all wheels and this is very important to have a good realistic feedback.
Max torque should be above 6 if you're not using the booster kit (try 7 and 8 and see which works best), and below 6 if you're using the booster kit (try 3,4,5 and see which works best)
Force feedback sensitivity should be at 10.
For a more detailed explanation plz watch my video about the subject: ruclips.net/video/oEe5ZchqbMg/видео.html
I'm starting to have the urge to get a DD Pro and make a video about its settings after some extensive testing. There is a very high chance that I might do it if my channel starts generating enough revenue to justify that purchase.
Hi really much thanks for this tutorial, do you really need a H shifter down the road for drifting?
Hello and you're welcomed! You don't really need and H shifter, but you still need to have it in manual and you can drift with a sequential shifter. But also, having a working clutch pedal is always a good tool for better control, and it can make some situations easier to handle. It's not a must but it surely is a plus.
Thanks for this great tutorial! You explained it very thoroughly. Can I ask a few more questions?
1) I have M3 '07 and Nissan S15 tuned and set exactly like your S14 (in your part 2 tutorial).... which one would you recommend for beginners?
2) When initiate a drift, after the rear starts spinning out, do you just let go the steeeing wheel to let it turn back or you physically turn it back?
3) I'm still far from drifting 😅 .... I keep having a problem of either the car straightened out or spinning.
Hello, you're welcome man, and thank you!
1) I don't think the tune of the S14 will work exactly the same on the S15, but I'm not sure how good it can be, need to test that. I would recommend both he the S14 and the M3 for beginners along with many other similar cars like this stock brz: ruclips.net/video/AWGFfbg7jdU/видео.html
However, taking the same specific car for each tutorial as a start is a good idea, i.e. the M3 for part 1 and the S14 for part 2, then trying different low to mid powered cars later.
2) It depends on your steering wheel. I can just let go of the TGT2 most of the time with the right settings, but I can rarely do that with the G29 and need to help it a lot more.
3) That's very normal for everyone to experience when new to drifting. It took me many days to start to get the hang of it back when I started, and it can take weeks and more than a month which is still very normal because it's a new physical skill that requires muscle memory. So you need to keep training your body and brain for it to become part of your physical habits. Also, and this is very important to be much more in control, USE A HEADSET or at least some earphones. Never use the speakers of your TV unless you're using the fiber optic connection for audio from the PS4. The difference in audio delay can be immediately felt, and the initial delay from the speakers completely ruins your input timing. This alone can reduce your frustration dramatically.
The best ❤
Thanks a lot buddy! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Great tutorial!! The only thing I mist and nowone ask in the comments, y how ti setup the gears. Better in automatic or manual holding first or second gear? I can manage in real life but not in GT7 cos I can't feel well enough when I brake grip with the throttle. Any suggestions will be grateful 🙏
Thanks a lot man! The car in this tutorial is fully in default setup, and there was no tuning of the gear ratios. It's much better to do it in manual for sure. One of the key controls during more advanced drifting is to know when to shift your gears mid-drift, which is something that I will surely cover in the coming parts of the tutorial. In this particular exercise, I was always in 2nd gear. A good suggestion to better feel when you break traction and the rear end starts to step out, is to use the right force feedback settings for it. You can watch this video where I explain in details how to do it and why: ruclips.net/video/oEe5ZchqbMg/видео.html
I'll try ffb on 10 later on my t300. I didn't want to use 10 for ffb because I feel like I'm putting wear on the wheel. Thanks for this great vid
You're welcome and thank you! Do you mean the force feedback sensitivity or the max torque? I don't think the force feedback sensitivity at 10 will not damage any steering wheel. At least not the G29 nor the TGT2 nor anything in between these 2 like your t300. As for max torque I'm only recommending 10 for the G29, I don't think the t300 will need it to be this high. I have on 6 for the TGT2 and 10 for the G29, so the t300 should require something in between.
@@SimActionClips cheers for this!!
cheers man!
What set up do you have for the wheel. Any suggestions for my pedal settings.
Which wheel and pedals are you using?
Set the controller steering sensitivity to 5 and the force feedback sensitivity to 10.
The max torque setting depends on which wheel you're using. I put it at 10 for the G29 and 6 for TGT2.
You can watch this video for more detailed information: ruclips.net/video/oEe5ZchqbMg/видео.html
As for the pedals I just remove the dead zones, but that depends on the condition of the pedals. Some pedal require some little dead zone to eliminate some noise input at the resting position caused by wear.
Thanks alot for sharing, very clear explanation and also really like the part about the movement of the car and how the wheels respond when starting a drift. This is also where I am least consistent, I have a question about this:
How much do you help your steering wheel to rotate and do you hold your wheel firmly while drifting or gently around the wheel?
You're welcome and thanks a lot!!
Generally speaking I go gently with the wheel. I grab it firmly only when doing sudden corrections, then go back immediately to a much lighter grab.
This also depends a bit on which wheel I'm using. The G29 doesn't really require me to hold it as firmly as I hold the TGT2. But on the other hand it requires much more help when doing fast rotations because it's not fast enough so I have to keep helping it. Whereas the TGT2, and although it produces more powerful forces and I have to hold it more firmly sometimes, it also makes it much easier for me where I can simply fully release it to turn on its own when it needs to do fast rotations.
@@SimActionClips Thank you very much! It seems like SH tires are better to control somehow with my G923, I'm improving after 2 hours of practice but still struggling to hold to drift or feel like I am in controll.. Did you experience this too?..
@@SimActionClips addition: do you always have to help your wheel spin while drifting for every single move? I'm using the G923
You're welcome man and thanks a lot for your feedback! Yes the SH produce better feedback than comfort tires that's why. The grippier your tires are the more feedback you'll feel that's how it works.
And yes that's normal to struggle to hold it at first. You need time to get used to it. It took me some time too but that was a very long time ago with GT5 and the Logitech Driving Force GT. I remember struggling for a whole week before starting to get good at it. And it varies from person to person for sure. It can even take longer and that's normal just don't give up.
As for always helping the wheel, no not necessarily. It depends on how sudden and aggressive the initiation or transition is. For some smooth slower ones I can let do it by itself.
@@SimActionClips thank you very much! Means alot. You're my favorite youtuber about sim racing for sure!
Hi I'm having trouble setting up my Fanatec DD Pro. Can you tell me the ideal settings for the Fanatec DD Pro steering wheel? The steering wheel feels hard and the car doesn't drift.
Hello, I can recommend the in game settings but I don't have any experience with Fanatec's internal wheel settings.
Thank you so much, I hope your urge to buy a fanatec DD is irresistible then XD
Haha you're welcome and thank you. Hope I can help you more soon.
This is the best, and most informative tutorial I have ever watched, thank you, I understand the theory now. BUT, I just think I´m to impatient, I tried. HARD for half an hour, the first minutes I couldnt even get it to slide, then I remembered, I have the TCS on 3 (after the new update I unfortunately had to change from 1 to 3, because I´m to agressive with the throttle) I find it hard to cope with changes 🙈
Well, I give up for now, either that, og brake something 😆😇, after I set the TCS to "0", the car just spun,..I cant figure out how to catch it?🤔, but its me, not your exellent tutorial,….it looks so easy in the video, and when LZ does it in real life, I have to practice, a lot 😆
But thank you again, this made it easy to understand the basics.🙏🏻😃
You're welcome man and thanks a lot for your feedback and your compliments!
Well half an hour is nothing really, try weeks instead 👻
It actually takes a lot of practice at first, and it takes a long while for someone new to get used to it. Try to be more patient and practice daily and persistently for a long period keeping in mind that it's very normal to fail a lot at first.
I hope this helps you get there and thanks a lot for the support 🤟🏻🤟🏻
@@SimActionClips I know my patience is the problem 😆, half an hour is a very long time for my brain, both autism, and ADD 🙈🙈🤪, so I have to practice in small bits 😁
I can give you an example, the time trials in the game, when a new one appears, I drive it ONCE, usually gives me at least the bronze, and then I do not persue it anymore, because I get frustrated if I dont improve drastically on run 2 😁
Knowing that, its just better to leave it, and drive something that I DO like 😆
But I will keep trying,..in small bits 😆
Oh I feel you bro. well you gotta keep trying when you can buddy, don't pressure yourself 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Hey i have one question is it better with handbrake cuz i made a handbrake and connectet my controller button to a rubberband
It's not better nor worse... it's more of a personal preference to use it or not. In my opinion, it's in general better to have the handbrake to use it for corrections, which is the subject of one of my coming parts for this tutorial. Otherwise, using the handbrake to initiate a drift is one of the many different techniques used for the initiation, and I've explained them all here in part 2: ruclips.net/video/aNb7f5VzA2E/видео.html
Which controller button did you connect to the rubberband? Because if it's just one of the push buttons you'll have a handbrake that just work as ON or OFF which is not ideal. You can have the handbrake work progressively, similarly to the brake and gas pedals, by using one of the R2 or L2 triggers of the controller or one of the L-Stick or R-Stick. You can check out this video to see how I made mine: ruclips.net/video/juE8m0G07rI/видео.html
Perfect timing I just grabbed a g923 I can barely drive straight
I hope this helps man. Best of luck and enjoy! 🤟🏻🤟🏻

You're welcome! Did tis help you overcome that or not yet?
Thanks for replying me. Currently not yet.@@SimActionClips
You inspire me,btw, how about the car’s setup?
Glad I do! Thank you! The car is in fully stock setup, I mentioned that in the video. 🤟🏻
This is by far the best drift tutorial video, but I’m still having trouble. Whenever I initiate the drift, I spin out, no matter what. I try using a lot, a little, and no throttle. Whatever I do, I always manage spinning out. I’m not sure if there’s a setting I disabled or something but I’ve been trying for a while and I can never manage to drift
Thanks a lot! Which wheel are you using and how did you set the ffb settings? Also for how long have you been trying? It's normal to keep failing at first and it's also normal for it to take some time before you become able to catch it right. Even trying for 2 weeks straight and not yet figuring it out is still normal btw.
@@SimActionClips I’m using the same wheel as you, and set up the exact same settings. Using the same car aswell, completely stock. I’ve tried for like a month, using different cars, trying 4wd, rwd, and fr. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, I always spin out, no matter what I do
Okay then try using some tires with less grip. They'll slow down things for you a bit but you would also have to be more smooth and gentle with your input changes. Try all 3 different comfort tires and see which one you find easier. Give each type enough practice time.
I keep spinning too, and now I can do donut instead 😂
Donuts are a good start though.

i was trying to drift yesterday thinking it will be a little easier with the vr2 but i was just spinning around 😣, i'll follow your instructions tonight and see how it goes, by the way where in lebanon are you located? i'm in lebanon too
I hope this helps man! It takes some time at first and might get frustrating. You just need to stay patient and keep practicing. I've learned how to drift in real life from GT5 and GT6. Took some time at first but was totally worth it. I live in Bshamoun, nice to meet you! 🤟🏻
@@SimActionClips yea bro i'm on it, yesterday i tried to drift around that circular line at willow springs, i didn't get a full clean turn yet but i'm one step ahead, i guess 😅 i live in jal el dib, might come to see you drift in real life one day ✌thank you for all the hard work you put into this videos, hope one day your efforts don't go in vain and i be able to drift 😄
hang in there bro, just keep practicing everyday and you'll get there. It's more of a habit building process through practice more than anything else. I used to participate in the Lebanese Drifting Championship organized by the ATCL along with my brother. But I stopped in 2015 because of the lack of funding. We were known as " The Abdel Hadi Brothers". Now we rarely do it just for fun.
Finally someone explain how 2 drift n GT7. I love u man😘 by the way I noticed that u r using a handbrake so pls what is the brand and do u think it will work with Fanatic wheel base with thx
Haha thanks man! I made my own handbrake. It's simply a spring-loaded arm which pushes on the L2 trigger of the playstation controller. I was able to benefit from this because when you set either the L2 or R2 trigger of the Playstation controller as handbrake in GT7, you get a fully functional progressive handbrake and not just an ON/OFF switch. This should work with any wheel since it's functioning independently. Hope this helps, much love 🤟🏻
@@SimActionClips appreciated bro

Great video, what AI do you use for the voice?
Thank you! It's on this website: www.synthesia.io
I don’t have the trigger affect options? Is that only for ps4/5 controllers and didn’t apply to the steering wheel and pedals?
I know you don’t say I need to use it in this video I just noticed you have the option and I don’t for some reason so I’m now curious 😂
The trigger effect is only for the PS5 controller. It's not available on PS4. It's okay bro you can ask whatever you want 🤟🏻
Good vid but when I hit the gad there's a red an white blinking on the throttle gage an all the vids I see there's no blinking it's just white like this vid plz help
It seems like you have the traction control not turned off. You should turn it completely off along with all the other driving assists. You can only keep the ABS.
The front suspension geometry that causes the front wheels to want to follow the momentum of the car is call "castor". It works Just like a shopping trolley. The more castor you add the easier it is to drift
I know man, thanks for sharing. It's caster*. But I wanted to simplify thins for the viewer, and more detailed explanation of caster would be unnecessary added info which is beyond the scope of the tutorial. Cheers man 🤟🏻
@@SimActionClips absolutely, I always explain it as the wheels of a shopping trolley. No disrespect, just for those in the comments.
Yes it's a great way to explain it 👌🏻

I don’t have the M3 yet as I’m very cheap in GT7 😂. Can I use the 350Z instead? It has similar power and similar weight.
Yes for sure, the 350z is also a great car for that.
Can you do video of this bmw tuning pls. I made your tuning on bmw m3 07 and its very hard to drift with it .
I think the tune of the 2007 M3 might need to be updated since the physics in the game were updated multiple times after publishing that video. I will make a video about it if I change anything after testing it. The E46 M3 in the current video is fully stock though. I didn't change a thing and it's very easy to drift like it is. Even the tires are default.
1000x like 👍👍👍👍
thanks a lot! 🤟🤟🤟
One of a kind tutorial! Very great! However I still feel I'm doing something wrong.
1) During drift initiation procedure you've released the throttle completely. If I want to continue the drift, do I need to release the throttle as well at initiation stage or it was showed only for initiation practice? So the correct mapping of throttle is: 0%-100%-0%- ~50%modulation, or 0%-100%- ~50%modulation
2) Do I need to catch the wheel after initiation stage at certain position or when the forces are at their's low?
3) Let's pretend you drift with closed eyes, how would you react on the wheel's FFB during drift, always counter-react to the opposite side or just gently follow forces direction?
Thanks a lot man I appreciate it!
1) my description of how to gradually apply the throttle, applies to both the initiation and when you want to increase the drift angle. So i don't go 0 - 100 immediately on the initiation, i do it gradually to not induce understeering. And yes most of the time i release the throttle completely in the second phase of the initiation. After catching it my angle will start to decrease so i continue from there similarly to what i described in the "maintaining the drift" part. I would have to start rotating the wheel in the same direction of the turn while goin back down on the throttle etc...
In this context, think of the initiation as a replacement of the "increasing your angle" phase, but this would be a more brutal and sudden increase.
2) You will have to catch it at certain position. The right angle to catch depends on the degree of curvature of the turn and the max drift angle which the car is able to drift at without spinning. There's no way I guess to properly describe it, other than that you have to do some trial and error. There are shallow angles where you will be able to continue the drift, and overshot angles where you will spin. You gotta adjust your initiation angle to somewhere in between.
3) You can't put it this way since you're not always just reacting to the ffb. You will be doing adjustments to your inputs at the pedals and at the wheel to both maintain the drift but also steer it. In the video at around 8:50 I say "Until you become very close to your desired drift angle". Well that desire drift and actually depends on where you want the car to go, because you're steering it to follow a certain curve. You're always visually judging where you want to go and deciding on every iteration of increasing your drift angle when to start to back of the throttle, to make the car go in the right direction (the desired direction).
Since watching this video.....my life has been going in circles.
Hahaha any progress?
@@SimActionClips no. I tried a few times....just burn outs in circles
I’ve been doing just as you’ve said, I’ve watched this over and over again, but I’m having a problem, when I tap my accelerator my car don’t go anywhere, i tap my accelerator and let go of my stearing wheel but I just go straight
Did you turn off the traction control and all other assists? You should only use ABS.
Did you have to help the g29 rotate every single counter steering initation and transition??
No not necessarily. It depends on how sudden and aggressive the initiation or transition is. For some smooth slower ones I can let do it by itself.
@@SimActionClips thank you!
you're welcome buddy! 🤟🏻
What if my m3 looks too slow for it? I'? Tryong to drift with g29, but it looks like my car is too slow. Tryed to tuning engine, but not helps at all..
Which tires were you using? If you use anything less grippy than the sports hard tires, it will surely look slow.
What is the best handlebar angle for drifting?
Do you mean the steering wheel angle? You cannot change that from the game. You only can from the internal settings of some wheels like my Thrustmaster TGT2. There is no such thing as best angle tough. I always recommend what is most realistic, to best develop your skills. I would have gone for 1080 degrees on my TGT2 but it is not physically capable of being fast enough with that angle, so I stick with the default 900 degrees. In some DD wheels it could be possible to use more angle. I would never recommend less angle, one can simply use a controller then and just "play".
I cant seem to drift on t300rs. Everytime i counter steer car just wants to either spin out or steaighten out then fling the car
Which force feedback settings are you using and did you try mine?
Also it is very normal to keep failing at first, and it will normally take a while for you to get used to it. Just keep practicing daily for a long period of time until your body builds the right muscle memory for it. Keep testing with your inputs the way I described in the video.
Hi I’m back what was your assist settings traction and co
Hey man, welcome back. All assists are completely off except for ABS.
Idk how should i do this and what speed should i be at to initiate drift because my car just wouldnt slide or turn like it should please help
That speed depends more on which car you're driving and even which tires you're using. So it's not something to memorize nor even monitor in numbers while driving because it's not a constant factor. You just need to practice a lot to get to a point where you can feel and anticipate how the car will behave. If you're new to this I highly recommend that you keep practicing a lot, and on a daily basis if possible. Try different speeds and feel what changes when you change that initial speed. Keep trying to initiate and learn what's happening during the process. It will be frustrating and can even feel impossible at first and that's totally normal. If it takes you a whole month of daily practice to just start to get used to it, that's still very normal.
have you put the traction control to zero?
I had the same problem, but as soon as i set the traction control to zero, the car started to slide. ( sorry for bad english, i am italian)
How are you using the g25 shifter with g29?
This is the G27 shifter. You just plug it the same way you plug the G29 shifter and it works the same. The buttons on it don't work though.
The G25 shifter won't work by just plugging it directly. You have to swap some pins. I once did it for a friend and it worked. I don't remember which pins but you can easily find the info on how to do it with a quick google search.
What max. torque do you recommend on G923?
use the exact same settings as for the G29 for sure:
Controller steering sensitivity: 5
Max torque: 10
Force feedback sensitivity: 10
You can watch this video for more information, if you still didn't watch it yet: ruclips.net/video/oEe5ZchqbMg/видео.html
So I must not be doing something right because I have tried to start from a slow role and blip the throttle but everytime iI do it always seems that the car grips to much and does'nt make the back tire slip any suggestions on how to improve this?
Like what speed and in what gear would you be looking for to initiate the slide?
Well first of all don't have the expectation to immediately succeed with it, as this can take you a whole week of daily practice to even start to get used to it. So what you're describing can be very normal and just require more practice to fix. Try different speeds until you find the sweet spot, it's always the best way to learn. That speed depends more on which car you're driving and even which tires you're using so it's gonna change for each situation. It's not something to memorize or even monitor in numbers while driving because it's not a constant factor. You just need to practice a lot to get to a point where you can feel and anticipate how the car will behave. If you’re new to this I highly recommend that you keep practicing a lot, and on a daily basis if possible. Keep trying to initiate and learn what's happening during the process. It will be frustrating and can even feel impossible at first and that's totally normal trust me. If it takes you a month to only start to get the hang of it that's still very normal.
In this exercise and using that M3 in default setup I kept it in 2nd gear all the way.
And btw you can try different initiation techniques and see wich one suits you best, but I think this is the simplest and easier one. All the other techniques are explained in part2 which I've just published around 13 hours ago: ruclips.net/video/aNb7f5VzA2E/видео.html
Also which wheel are you using and did you try my recommended ffb settings?
Ok thank you and yes I am using the ffb for the g29 and I will keep daily practice one thing that was making it harder for me was the traction control but now that I turned that off I am able to slide a lot easier now thank you for the feedback!
Oh that was the problem! you should always turn the traction control completely off to drift, also turn all other assists off except for ABS because these totally ruin your control over the car, I even mentioned that at the end of the video. I currently use ABS on "weak" but it's totally fine to keep it on default if you like. You're always welcome and thank you too for your feedback 🤟🏻🤟🏻
What gear are you in the initiations. Also any tips on knowing the right angle to stop wheel. I constantly spin out and loosing my mind lol. I got vr and really want to learn this.
I'm in 2nd gear all the way in this exercise even on initiation. Don't start learning with the VR in GT7, as there is no way to see what your wheel is doing. You gotta get good at it without the VR first, because when you do, you'll have that extra task later of tricking your mind to ignore the wrong rotation of the virtual in-game wheel. Notice how I hide that behind my physical wheel lol.
Can you tell us how we can tune the suspension for drift? The best tune for drift ! Thank you
There is no such thing as a "best tune for drift". It highly depends on which car and tires you're using, which track layout you're drifting on, and the level of grip of the track surface. It also depends a bit on your driving style. Now there are some guidelines on what to start with and how to adjust each setting relatively and what you should expect from each. But this requires a long in depth video which I might do sometime later after i finish the drifting tutorial series first. It's gonna take a while though. I'm sorry but these kinds of videos are not easy to make, and require lots of time. Add to it that I would never accept to publish such video before i make sure that everything is clear and delivered the best way possible. It's definitely on my to do list, but it's not gonna be out anytime soon. I hope you stick around till then 🙏. Meanwhile, I'll surely be doing some drift setups for some specific car and track combinations, and sharing them in detail like i already did. 🤟🏻
