I was on the highway and couldn’t pull over right away, just waited till it cooled down and drove it until it got hot, repeated the step like 5 times until I got home . The shop I took it too says they found metal shavings in the coolant system says I need a new motor. Your comment kinda gives me hope, I might just change the thermostat and water pump/ radiator and see it that fixes my problem before I drop 8k on a hemi 2012 jeep
That's great to hear that.I also have a hemi a charger RT and my car has been overheating lately on and off,but I never let it get on n H ever I always pull over and wait a little bit,fyi I've only been driving it to work and back since it's been happening and work is only a 7 min drive.Changed my thermostat and still overheats.Hopefully soon I can find the problem
Its not just a voiceover, Its a shitty AI made video based on the prompt of "Symptoms of Engine Damage from Overheating" I would not take advice from these types of videos just take your car to the shop
Yeah i got a Crysler Sebring 04 2.7L i was coming from calgary after changing the whole water-pump that actually cost me 1400$ and in the middle of the highway I noticed the heat sign is going towards red and smoke from engine then i suddenly stopped the my car and saw the radiator hose is broken from one end the coolant is drained out completely however i fixed that broken hose and filled up the collant and drive back to my home when i just entered the city I noticed that weird sound is coming sounds like a knocking sound went to the mechanic same day and he said engine is gone because of overheating now i have no clue what to do spend all most 3 grands just a day before
I was going to a job interveiw for home depot and to also pick up a thermostat housing because mine was cracked. But shit started cracking more and leaking coolant and overheating x_x Don't think I have any damage though. At least imemdiate. Maybe long term won't last as long
Well my car overheated and smoke started to come out. I checked the water in the radiator after it cooled and it seemed ok. I tried driving it later that day and it drove okay though a bit rough. The next day the car heater wouldn't work. I checked the radiator and it was bone dry. I filled it to the top and checked it an hour later and the water level had gone down again. The heater was working again when I filled it with water. I noticed an engine oil light and checked the oil level and it was showing very low. I filled up the oil and noticed oil leakage under the car. It looks like the engine must've got damaged from the overheating and is leaking oil from one of the spark plugs. I've no idea where the radiator water is going though. I think the car is gonna cost too much to repair and time to get a new car.
Driving a car which is having overheated engine struggling to cool off is sure shot recipe to damage the engine. if the problem touches the gasket area then the whole engine needs to replaced. Let us what you ended up with @jazradcliffe2286 🙌🏻
My 2007 le ...we were on our way out of town and not even 5 miles from town ...here loud ticking and pulled over and my resivior hose was out and it was everywhere, now it wont start but its a whir when i try to crank it,no luck
My japanese Suzuki mini truck overheated and top gasket changed but if l drive for the next 15 minutes the temperature guage will rise and drop again. What can l do please?
Your thermostats are probably not opening and don’t let the coolant cycle from the radiator to the engine, that’s why it rises and drops, it rises because the thermostats are not open and it drops again because the thermostat finally opens up and cycles just a few cool coolent but than closes again which causes overheating, the radiator cap could the one or the thermostat on the engine can be the one or both
I was driving my 2005 Nissan 350Z around the block and after 10 minutes I noticed the temp guage was almost all the way up and the fan was loud. I shut it off and allowed it to cool down and when I drove it back to my house there was some steam and coolant leaking. I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary and the engine didn't have any issues accelerating or anything out of the ordinary. Is it ok or should I get a new car. I know it's the radiator but I don't want to put any money in the car if it's got engine damage
I bought a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder LE and it started overheating 10 mins off the lot. Thought we needed just needed head gaskets , I have to get a new engine. In the same situation
My motor engine over heating😊 and im buy piston and ring new complete original because my piston broke and ring not press😅 problem damage in ring oil too small and piston not same original before😢😢😂😅
My 2003 Toyota echo overheats badly...I changed thermostat. Radiator .water pump. It runs good but the water boils and gets send to the reservoir then it spill out of the reservoir...by the time is cold and I check the radiator..there is almost no water ...seems like if the thermostat won't open to let the water flow and cause the water to boiling temperature. However the pressure in the water hose is good...can someone tell me what could be wrong ?. Fans works perfectly....
My ram hemi has overheated several times and I just pull over. Been 2 years and still runs fine.

Did you end up fixing the car or scrapping?

All that water went into the motor mixing with the oil rusting the internals rust rubbing with other metal causing scratching. Good as junk
Same problem there is knocking sound in engine

An oil change
