I have a really old 3ds and my whole family (including my parents) forgot the passwords. And I really wanted to connect to the internet so I could wonder trade in Pokémon. And this worked!
I now have access to my full console without the parental controls blocking my every move!
Edit, 1 day later: I got 3 shiny Pokémon in Omega Ruby from wonder trading!

Uhm I have a problem, whenever I put in the inquiry number and the date I get the master key and put it into the 3ds and it says it’s incorrect :(

For anyone that cant get it to work it may be because your DS is set to the wrong date, make sure what that you put on the website is the same as your console.

Thank you for this! My daughter was given a 3DS from a friend a few years ago and that friend had received it from her cousin. We just got her some games for it for Christmas and she wanted to play Mario Kart 7 online, but the parental lock prevented that. Thanks to your video I was able to reset it and let her play online.

I can't thank you enough for this! I was sold a new board and unfortunately someone's PIN has been encrypted. I called Nintendo but they couldn't help, so I ended up here. Now I can format this system so I can encrypt my NNID so I can get my games back.
