This video will show you how to reset your parental controls pin on the 3ds family of consoles. This is a complete guide that shows using the official Nintendo portal (costs 50 cents) and using the free key generator.
This is very helpful if you are needing to reset/format your 3DS if you are selling or if you purchased a used 3DS and it is locked. Watch the entire video as I will show you how to reformat the entire system and bring you to the welcome screen as if it was purchased new!

9 years ago my dad made the pin and locked me out forever, he forgot it the next day. Now at 18, I found this old baby and am now ready to take control back 😂
Doesn't work anymore right? I also found mine again, and I went on the website and saw that they turned of the Nintendo shop for 3ds and wii
All three of mine took a nose dive the very same weekend like they killed them with an electronic zap and fried them all. I’ll be damned if I buy a switch now that’s probably why they killed them.

Mood! I got my 3DS back in 2012 and my dad set up the parental settings, well it's 2022 now and I'm 17 and he obviously doesn't remember any of the questions and pin lolol. This was definitely a life saver.

I got a replacement 3ds via ebay, and thanks to this video, it saved me from having to spend hours trying to crack the four digit code (which I don't recommend as an option unless you really want to go crazy) which would have had to be an option since I can't seem to do the 50c payments anymore.
(I get stuck with it saying "payment form not ready" I dunno if its just me or if its related to eshop closing next year)
But considering the key generator site still works well a year after the video's date, I highly recommend this approach to anyone buying a 3ds and getting into for lack of better name for it, the "parental control trap".

I don’t know if it’s just me but maybe for some of y’all it may help , the time zone and the dates he had shown in the video didn’t work for me to get my code working instead I put the current time zone and the current date as of 05-22-23
The code had finally worked and I was able to reset the whole system.

Yo it showed me but it's a 4 digit pin can you help me?
@@aidengarza7539 the four digit pin is for the actual pin you want to change, but when you get the master key, it has more than 4 digits. On the website you have to enter the date of your 3ds and whatnot, then you should get the master key. Then go back to your 3ds click the button that forgets your pin, and the secret question, then you should be able to type in the master key and make a new pin 😄

For anyone that cant get it to work it may be because your DS is set to the wrong date, make sure what that you put on the website is the same as your console.

Hi The fix. Kinda weird question. I recently took apart my google pixel 3xl to replace the charging port and the wireless charging coil. I got it all put back together and it worked. Powered down to add adhesive and put on the back and when I did it did not work again. But here is the catch. I live streamed the whole thing. Meaning that we could see the exact moment that I broke it. Would you be interested in seeing if you could see what I did wrong.
In this situation you will most likely need to disconnect and reconnect that battery. Also try to plug in the phone, press and hold the power and volume buttons for 15sec. Either of these two options should reboot the phone.

@@TheFixTech hey the battery trick helped get some life out of it. It vibrated when i pressed the power button and plugged it in. However after a few tries at this it stoped all together again
The free websites DO NOT WORK! I went to the one in the description and no matter what I ALWAYS get a pop-up that says Master Key Is Incorrect.

Think this is for US only, im in the UK and my serial number starts with 3 letter then numbers, not recognising it. Any way for a European version?
EDIT: Well that was easy! found the european website and stuck in my details and the serial number and the master key was sent straight to my email for free from nintendo! but thanks for your help the video helped! managed to pick up a perfect 3ds xl for £20 but she said its locked as they forgot pin... happy days!
