I have spent probably over $2,000 at Eastwood in the last month. It is due to these videos and their great prices!!! I would recommend Eastwood to anyone.
Welding plated caster bodies is not wise unless you have a fume extractor. I cut out 4 plates, drilled and welded nuts to the top side. This recesses the casters from the edge, make them easy to replace and avoids the fume issue. It's only another 45 minutes work and very little cost to preserve my lungs and make replacement easy.
Now all i need is to make a fab table to make my fab table
TwoWheelsOnly 😂😂😂😂😂
LOL!! . . . I know, right?? I mean I am going to have to get on the "unsafe" sawhorses or ground to weld this thing!! . . . LMBO!!!
My 2 cents on this project.
I would miter the top frame to eliminate the possibility of pests making a home in the open tubing.
I would not put caster wheels on all 4 corners if I was planning to mount a vise on the table. Put two on it and they can be fixed ones then use a floor or atv jack to move it.
Check the squareness of your frames by measuring the diagonal with a tape measure.
This method is more exact than a rafter square.
Put your level away, large concrete floors are not level.
Nice idea and project tho.
Super nice table, great video. I couldn't help but giggle at the fact that you built it on top of a fabrication bench; would have been better if you had built it on an uneven shop floor, where guys in need of a bench would be building theirs....
Very good instructional video.
I own the Eastwood MIG 250, an awesome beast.
We need to review PPE on this video - lack of.
Safety glasses should always be worn beneath a welding helmet.
A welders cap should be always be worn while welding.
A full face shield should be always be worn while using the grinder, plus safety glasses.
A full face shield should be always be worn while using the Plasma Cutter, plus safety glasses.
Steel toed work boots should be always be worn while working with metal and other heavy objects, not sneakers.
Very true , how ever this is to show the side of a DIY ., just gotta B wise alert cautious ! Nice vid Eastwood ,
Would also like to request if you have plans that lists Parts and measurements besides in the video? Thanks!
As mentioned, this would have been much more real world if you'd of built it on the ground like all of us who don't have the table yet. Thanks for the motivation though.
Nice build on the table. I would however have removed the plating on the casters before welding them to the table.
Nice Video. I have Eastwood Tig and Mig welders and love them. The music could be better, try surf. I would round the corners of the plate and put on a one inch skirt of 1/8" thick flat bar for safety. I assume the level is to get the surface flat, not so much for level.
It gives me some inspiration. I might try putting a shelf at a height for the welders and have horizontal cradles for T size Argon and C25 cylinders. Lifting them in could be tough. Something to work out on CAD one of these days. I might put some holes with nuts welded underneath to hold stuff down or mount a jig, vice, etc.
Thanks!
Fabulous mate...... You could make a bit of money with that of you had plans. I'd definitely buy the plans off you. Well done mate ;-)
Plans? Dude, it's a rectangle with some plate on top and on the shelf below, why do you need plans? They gave you the dimensions in the video also!
If one were to go and build this table, what sources might one recommend for the steel, particularly the 1/4" shelving? I am in New York out in Long Island
What do you use to prevent weld spatter from sticking to the tabletop? I clean the tabletop and spray it with anti-spatter spray before each project and after clean with brake cleaner. No spatter, clean table.
What is the name of this piece of pulley you put on the torch tip of the plasma cutter?
Nice video
Nice table..
Nice vid
Me gusta la mig welding 135 y la mig welding 175 pero todavía están muy caras....
Why no straight edge for the long plasma cuts?
Exactly why use a wheeled guide meant to slide along and edge then do eyeball cuts?
So what can I coat a table like this with that will prevent rust, conduct current well, & not burn! Easy touch up would be nice also.
+Alan Chapman I keep the top sheet raw and wipe the top with a rag sprayed with WD40 every few months. Its been almost two years and no rust. Plus there is never a touch up issue.

Cool
I'm about to build this table for my garage, so far I've spent $750 in metal haven't purchased wheels yet...
+Bob Smith actually ended up with some extra stock so it was more like ~$500 in the end
You got ripped off, I got all the material for 200
+Jesse Rodriguez show me your table I'll show you mine... Cause I'm sure your looks NOTHING like mine or this one
Can I do this with the Eastwood 135?
For metal this thick, you will want to use the MIG 175.
You could have bolted the casters down so that they’re serviceable without an angle grinder.
can this be done with the mig 135?
To weld metal as thick we we were using to build this table you'd want to use the Eastwood MIG 175 or MIG 250.
The 135 would be running at maximum settings to effectively weld 1/4" thick steel. Could it handle it though? yes. You however will NOT got the penetration you would with a higher amperage welder.
What castors are you using? @eastwood company
So, how much in steel and casters did this cost?
why are you cutting and welding next to gas pump. I just dont get it.🤔
Not a functioning gas pump.
nice ears what tribe are you from?
He's from the Unemployable Tribe.
CLEARLY unemployable. lmao. Do you idiots think hes doin this shit for free?? closed minded, ignorant fucks.
I give a shit if he's getting paid or not, he is not the person I would want representing my company looking like a fucktard...
Sucks that people think cause you have your ears gauged you shouldn’t be repping a company. I own a company and we do the conveyors for ups amazon and fed ex my ears are gauged both my arms are tattooed as well as my hands. It doesn’t matter how you look it matters about your skill set and your work.
So how much do those materials cost?
Go to your local steel company and go through there scrap yard. .95 a lb here in socal.
+Jesse Rodriguez HAHAHAHA scrap metal... And I'm the one who got ripped off?!?! Fucking kids man
NEVER weld casters. They have bolt holes for a reason.
Why not?
Youd just grind them off and weld new ones on.....common its not rocket biology lol
Ok genius, you're doing what exactly with that level _after_ you have welded the frame and castors? What are you going to shim the top plate? In fact no clue why you are bothering with the level at all. You have a rolling table that will rolling over all sorts of stuff and on un-level parts of most peoples work areas.
PelenTan 😁
ok so next time you do a build run your tube seams to the inside
+MrDannyreb does that serve a purpose other than aesthetics?

Why use lever.. is the floor level? Even so.. you got the frame welded, do you really think you can change border align with weld alone? I'm guessing this guy did this for first time, welding, cutting, grinding (used tip of the wheel 90° etc).. to amatorish.. must say.
+Bjarni Einarsson lol...you're an idiot
+SUPERMAN no, Bjarni Einarsson's right...you're the idiot.
I was thinking the same thing as I watched the video. What good does a level do unless you know that the floor is level, and few are?
you try to buy that much steel in houston and see what it costs. that damn music . absolutely not necessary.
lol, you need a fab table to build a fab table
Am i the only one who thinks that arc welding is the best?
any one else find it funny that he's using tig welding gauntlets with a mig welder i mean really thats like throwing money out the window not very smart what you want are a good set of double patch kevlar reinforced cat 2 welding gauntlets last ages and provide proper protection
This video is so full of wrong, it's comical.
