  • What's leak protocol? It's a process our crew uses to carefully inspect your water feature to find any compromised edges or liner issues that might be causing your pond, waterfall, or fountain to lose water.
Here's an inside look as Travis combs every inch of the edge treatment on this pondless waterfall to find the source, or sources, of the leak reported by the homeowner.

Great video sir. I have watched a few others and everyone wants to show off their pond and plants before getting to the issue.

I already knew it was messy and that it will be messy when I do it. But seeing it be messy for someone else really helps. I am totally gearing up for this.

Good info. Thank you so much. I definitely have a low edge in my 750 gallon pond. Even with the water level real high on a cool (45° F) day, if I turn off the water within 10 hours the water level really drops. So low that the big skimmer box is practically empty causing the pump to nearly burn itself out since there's no water covering it. The winter shut down is being done tomorrow (I'm in Canada) so I have to wait until next May to fix it. I would like to see what I can do myself right away. During the shutdown the pumps & underwater lights will be shut Down. The insides of the skimmer & filter will be cleaned & all packed away. The fish live in there year round so an aerator & heater will be hooked up & run constantly. It amazes me how my Goldfish & Koi can live so long without any food. But I guess they go into a hibernation like state. I need to keep the water as deep as possible since it gets a layer of ice.

Hey there! We're going back through comments we haven't replied to and making sure we touch base with everyone. Thank you so much for watching! I see it's been 6 months since this comment so how did your pond do through the winter? Were you able to find and fix any leaks? How are your fish doing?

suggest you ditch the background noise. Very distracting

If you're leak is slow, an or two inch per day, and you have no fish; then get small animal float drinking bowl and bore some holes in it. Stick it in the pond with a permanent all season hose attached and forget all about leaks, it's just not worth the pain, life is too short.

Hey there! We're going back through comments we haven't responded to and touching base with everyone, even though it's been quite a while haha. Thank you so much for watching!
This is an innovative solution! But fixing a leak is worth the effort so you're not spending too much on your water bill every month. On the bright side, you can always give us a call and we can fix the leak for you while sit back and relax :)

@@JVISecretGardens I live in Scotland the water is free, there is no water bill. We pay taxes but it includes everything, nothing is itemised. Our health service is payed through tax and you pay even if you don't use it; so if you have to see a GP or a consultant it feels free, even if it isn't, the waters the same.

Do you ever want just to do the whole thing all over? Just pull everything off and start over?
